Letters from the Gardeners Cottage

Rate this book
If you have ever wanted to run away to the wilds of Scotland and stay, I invite you to come along as I share the story of a life unfolding at The Gardeners Cottage. Beginning in April 2019 I packed up my life and started the next great adventure in a rented cottage and greenhouse on a slightly wild estate on the west coast of Scotland. I'm attemptIng to rewild and reroot myself while I search for a slower, more sustainable life with a deeper connection to a place that I've longed for, I began writing monthly, old-fashioned letters to my Patreon subscribers. This is the collection of the first full year of writing and wandering the hundreds of acres of the estate, including visiting the standing stones and neolithic cairn, introducing myself and my Old English Sheepdog Alfred to the ancient trees in the woodland and the seals that visit the loch shores.

An answerer of calls, SL Sourwine has returned to Canada after 23 years away. She's replanting herself on the edge of the Rocky Mountains and looking out on the Great Plains of her childhood.

In 2019 she answered another call and moved to a sweet cottage on the edge of Loch Fyne in Scotland for three years. It led to an unprecedented adventure in rewilding her own life and entering into a deep relationship with the landscape around her. A book of her first year of Letters from The Gardeners Cottage is now available. The land of that place had a lot of lessons and stories for her though and she's now trying to turn them into a work of fiction. This involves lots of walking with her Old English Sheepdog companion Alfred who is so far enjoying emigration to Canada.

Before Returning and Rewilding, SL Sourwine built a twenty-year career in international horse racing with only her passion for horses, the sport, and an English degree. Her experiences ranged from being the volunteer flower gardener at the tiniest of courses in Saskatchewan, Canada to being involved with a winner at Royal Ascot. Going on to start her own consulting company, the freedom to work on innovative projects led her to founding a new technology company and to finally start to get some books out of her head and onto paper.

Susie is passionate about shedding the internal systems that keep people from reaching for the life and work they want. Her first book A Little Book of Permission and the short audio course on How to Give Yourself Permission is a simple way to get started on the journey to your dreams. She also tackles bringing the concept of Permission and how to centre consent for those working as mentors and coaches. These days Susie applies twenty years of marketing and strategic experience at the apex of one of the wealthiest industries in the world with her passion to help women succeed and impact the world in a positive way.
