I WANT THE TIME I HAD TO TAKE TO READ THIS BACK! PLEASE!
It started out decent. We follow Robbie Reyes, who takes care of his brother in a town filled with gangs and drugs. He signs up for this race when he gets caught up in a shooting where he then gets turned into the Ghost Rider.

He then finds this group of people who are making a drug that can turn you into a monster. He decides to take these monsters down before it gets any worse.

Now this is a collection of three volumes. The premise I just told you was for the first volume. And for that it's fine. There's some other stuff I didn't get into, but overall it was fine. But then the same thing happens in every single volume. (roughly)
These weird monsters come to town then Robbie has to fight them.
Some stuff happens with the brother.
insert terrible dialogue here
Fight scene
insert terrible art here
The third volume throws in the some of the other all new hero's, but they just make it worse. Especially with the terrible dialogue.

Like, why was Hulk acting like a 6th grader with a crush?
Anyways, I will give credit where credit is due. They did do some interesting with the actual character of Ghost Rider. If it wasn't muddled with terrible dialogue it might actually be worth a star. But, nope.

Overall: Don't make the mistake of reading this hot piece of garbage like I did. Trust me you'll regret it, if you do read it.

A good collection. If contains the 12 issue series introducing Robbie Reyes as the new Ghost Rider. I really like Robbie Reyes think his character was done really well and his evolution through the series was great. This is not my favorite artwork, though I did get used to it by the end if the twelve issues. If I had one complaint of this series is that there was so much left undone. I think Robbie deserved better.

The five issues mini series guest staring The new Wolverine, the (not so) Awesome Hulk, Silk and a couple of surprises, was ok. Robbie's part was done well, but the others seems to be there for comic relief (well Hulk definitely was). I would have liked the mini series more if more time was given to Robbie. The mini series finishes with a short bonus story.

The final chapter is the What if issue I dud not see the point of then and don't now. However it is a what if. The book finishes with a cover gallery of full page varient covers. There are also a couple of character sketches. I really would lije to see more if Robbie and would even like to see him join the original Ghost Rider family. I am interested in see what happens next.

6/10:
This collection is rather strange, it includes All-New Ghost Rider (2014) #1-12, Ghost Rider (2016) #1-5, and What If? Ghost Rider (2018) #1. It’s hard to describe this collection as a whole, so let me talk about each arc included in this collection.

All-New Ghost Rider (2014) #1-5 is genuinely awesome. We learn who Robbie Reyes is, watch him die, see him become a unique Ghost Rider (by sharing a body with a damned soul from Hell), and then defeat Mister Hyde. All in all, a great arc to introduce the world to a new Ghost Rider.

All-New Ghost Rider (2014) #6-10 is basically a rehashing of the previous arc, except we learn more about the soul that’s bonded with Robbie Reyes and two Ghost Riders meet: Robbie Reyes and Johnny Blaze.

All-New Ghost Rider (2014) #11-12 is a weird arc where Robbie’s damned uncle attempts to have two bodies in his control. Really weird, but shows how Robbie doesn’t have full control over his powers.

Ghost Rider (2016) #1-5 is yet again really awesome. Robbie Reyes is brought into the fold of other heroes on Earth including Amadeus Cho (Hulk), Laura Kinney (Wolverine), Cindy Moon (Silk), and even SHIELD with notable agents Phil Coulson and Melinda May. A fun arc that shows just how strong Robbie Reyes is, strong enough to go toe to toe with Hulk.

What If? Ghost Rider (2018) #1 is a really weird one-shot that just doesn’t fit with anything else in this collection. I can’t believe Marvel even printed such a terrible issue.

I’ll be reading more Ghost Rider eventually, but I’m excited to see more of Robbie Reyes.

Full disclosure, I am a bit if a Ghost Rider nerd so this hits my tastes specifically. Your mileage may vary, but there are things that can be said in a more universal manner...

Felipe Smith has managed to pen an amazing script with fully realized characters. In a comic that deals with drug dealers and gangbangers in LA, there are very few stereotypes to be found here. Even the high school thugs have some depth to them. The relationship between the protagonist and his brother drives the story all the way to the end. It's refreshing to have a hero who's motivations are so clearly defined. He's not doing it because it's the right thing to do, hes not doing it out of guilt for past sins, he's doing it to make a better life for him and his only family.

Meanwhile, Tradd Moore was born to draw these characters. His line work is absolutely gorgeous, and the amazing color work from Val Staples brings his work to vibrant life. The only fault is that we only get this amazing team for 5 or so issues. I cannot imagine how much work must have been put in to sustain it as long as they did, but it's still a shame we couldn't have had it last longer.

The revival series is a bit of a mixed bag. While it's great to have Felipe bring Robbie back for another adventure, it doesn't do much to further the dark storyline he established. Instead we get a psudo-crossover with monsters and, oddly enough, a handful of other characters whose solo titles were flagging at the time. This reeks of Marvel mandate to me, which is a shame. Robbie and Felipe deserve their own title without any such strings to hold them back.

Like I said. I dig Ghost Rider a lot. The faustian themes, the tormented hero with a dark streak, demons and stunt riding, all of it. But, if that's not your thing you may get whiplash from the sudden change in artists and then tone. Still, I feel these early Reyes issues deserve more attention.

This was definitely a mixed bag.

After seeing Robbie Reyes in Agents of Shield, I clicked with the character more than I have with other iterations of Ghost Rider and so I wanted to check out his comics. Unfortunately, immediately after opening the book, I was just incredibly offput by the uncanny valley faces and had to put it down. I did try again later and managed to get through it, and while I still maintain that I like Robbie better than Johnny or Danny as Ghost Rider, the entire book was hit or miss. Like, there were some really cool looking panels, but I could never get past the extremely off-putting faces and sometimes weird, twisty anatomy. And while there were some good plot beats, I felt like there were more head scratching, incomprehensible, cartoonishly over the top, or just plain bad bits. (Or maybe those were just more memorable?)

There was so much potential here, with this character in particular, that this is one of the few times where I'm looking forward to a reboot.

Ghost Rider 1-5 .

Read 1.14 to 1.15.24

I really enjoyed this arc. The story gives us a nice introduction to Robbie Ryers. I liked that we got to know him as a person first and as a Ghost Riders second. This made me more invested in him than I would be otherwise. The story itself while a bit cliched was a fast and fun read that I quite enjoyed. I thought both the art by Tradd Moore and colors by Val Staples with help from Nelson Daniel (#1) and Esther Sanz (#5) were fantastic. I really liked how Tradd Moore made the action scenes flow and made the flames feel alive. The color palate used by Val Staples gave the more grounded scenes a subdued look while the more over the top or action scenes had a more vibrant and day glow look to them. In closing I wanted to say I had a big problem with the repeated use of retarded as I find this word to be extremely offensive. I would have prefered that it be bleeped like every other offensive word was in these issues.

Robbie Reyes is a really great Ghost Rider and character. He is a very sweet person and very much a good person. I absolutley loved his bond and love for his little brother.

I gave this two ratings since there were aspects I did not like, but Robbie Reyes hinself is great! I would really love to see more of him.

The first 12 issues of this collection were great! The second 5 issue part wasn’t as good though because it felt to me like they were trying to crossover with too many other Marvel characters. The What-If issue was kind of funny.

It started off good but by issue 4 I was over it. Too much of a jumbled mess and incoherent story. The cartoon artwork for the first 2 storylines didn't work well for me. The final story? Nuff said.

Robbie is a character I absolutely love, but I don't know that I can call this particularly quality but also I think most of that comes down to the flaws of superhero comics as a medium.
