First, they killed his love.

After finding a love thought lost forever, the Sacred Clan ripped it from Akio’s grasp with a vicious act of revenge.

Then they destroyed his home.

The tigers of the Sacred Clan brought war to Akio’s doorstep when they invaded and loosed bombs on Japan.

Akio swore the Sacred Clan would pay in blood.

Now, nothing is off the table as he proves that sometimes the only way to fight monsters…

Is to be scarier than they are.

The Queen’s Bitch takes the war to them in a way they’ve never seen. However, vengeance is a double-edged sword.

Can Akio control the monster inside, or will it take him into the abyss of no return?

Another book, many more dead weretigers. The entire book was permeated by moping about the death in the previous book of one of the stupidest characters I have ever encountered in any story.

A terrifying & melancholy journey

Wow, I just finished & these might be the most terrifying characters in world after WWDE. Lots of them. Yet, they're human; living through incredible trauma.

Koda & Horst, one of the more fun love stories also have a dark side. Horst had to watch as his tiny wife Koda had to be turned to a Were, while pregnant with their twins. He had no choice if she was to live, but the darkness haunts Horst. As Kenjii's gruesome & unnecessary death (in Akio's mind especially) still haunts Akio. But, will Akio come back from where he is? Yuko & Eve can only hope he returns with little damage.

And I cannot forget one of my new fav AIs - Abel - took damage by the same evil Sacred Clan Were. An AI took damage? Oh yeah, beyond taking a middle to his core, he had to be rebuilt g brought back online by Eve. But his animosity toward his killers was a delightful change from the norm. I look forward to see the Rocking teen strategist grow up & realize he truly Feels. That he's beyond his programming will be the day I hope to read about in this series.

I would love to read more about Akio, Eve & Yuko after the 2nd Dark Ages. They had some wonderful visits with people from their pasts. And they'd meet TH's family. Please? 🙏🙏🙏🙏 (Yes, I'm shamelessly begging you to write 6 more books. I'd gladly take the time to read them!) Can he please MA? So many chances to do more here & keep we fans happy. Could you ask Charles to write 6 more books? I'd be eternally grateful. 🙋🏼‍♀️

Another excellent installment in the series.

A great story about a man finding his way out of the darkness.I enjoyed the character development in this book very much. The action sequences were great as well. I did not put the book down until I finished it. These authors are excellent storytellers, I don’t understand why they cannot find more to write about in akio’s universe. He’s never traveled to Hawaii, India, New Zealand, Canada ECT.
There could be crossovers with other characters. His character could be developed more so that he shows his love and affection only for those he considers family like Eve and Yuko. He can continue to maintain his stoic demeanor towards everyone else. I can envision part of the story where he is traveling with his companions to find parts to repair the pod dock and get their base together while fighting those who are taking advantage of people in the unknown world such as blood traders etc. I will be sorry when this series ends if you have not read it please do so it is very very good.

Although there was times of doubts ...

At times, while reading this book, I wondered it I would be able to rate it with the 5 stars most KGU books have easily earned. It was a bit darker than most KGU series I've read and I did not like the seeing a favorite character acting do far from his normal. But the ending was so perfect, it son that fifth star! Keep up the good work, Charles! I highly recommend this book and series despite the dark place it had taken us. One of the best things about the KGU multiple series co-written by the multitude of different authors, is now individual they each are without following a set outline that many big publishing companies use to require from their authors. Looking forward to the next book, and the interesting experiences that the characters will experience on the say to becoming the beloved characters we previously meet before the return of Bethany Ann. Would live two we more of their journeys after they leave far space!

This book was different than the first three, since Akio is almost a different person after the huge loss he suffered in the last book. I also wasn’t sure what to expect since the author pointed out in his notes that the series was intended to be a trilogy.

As so many other readers encouraged him to expand it to a series I have to say that I’m glad he agreed!

The story has, if anything, more action than ever. It also expands the roles of Seki and includes an interesting side story that leads to more possibilities for some minor characters to become more interesting! Needless to say, Akio is very motivated to remove the threat posed by the Sacred Clan and their insistence on making slaves of the humans who have the misfortune to be in their reach. Abel is a bit unpredictable as he is approaching the awakening into an AI, which is a source of frustration for Eve & Yuko as they watch over his development.
A good read!

Remarkable handling of a serious topic

Normally I rate authors books on world building, ability to pull together a story worth reading, and on general grammar & editing., in this case as with all of his other books in the series Mr. Tillman knocked it out of the park on every category. I will say that my field of study is psychology so this book was difficult for me to like especially for a character he and Mr Anderle have gotten us the readers to love, but I think Mr Tillman nailed the situation perfectly. And from their support group it isn't easy watching someone you love withdraw from life and becoming destructive in their grief. Thank you both for taking on this topic and perhaps shedding a little light to readers about such a sensitive topic. On a side note can't wait to see what Koda's kids get up to in the next books.

This is the best book of the series so far. The turmoil, anguish, anger and utter despair that Akio feels for the loss of Kenji is something I can relate to. Seeing his revenge tour turn more aggressive, more deadly with Eve's new weapons all the while hoping and waiting to see if he could come through the other side and return to him former self had me at the edge of my seat. I also really liked the character growth from Abel. He's so close to AI ascension. I look forward to him completing his journey. Speaking of a journey, Horst and Koda are also enjoying some good character development. I found myself really enjoying their time on the ship and in Australia. Horst has become a favorite of mine. It will be interesting to see what develops with their children.

Oh boy!

This was yet another powerful book, full of raging emotions, and tender touches.

There were times I read with horror what the human mind can invent, when inflicting pain on others, and then I'd turn a page, and read the opposite, where life, and hope, and love, can heal some of the wounds inflicted by life.

It's a wonderful journey I'm taking, as I read, and experience, the stories written by so many awesome authors.

It was sheer luck that drew me to the first author, and book, that took place in the Kurtherian Universe, and I'll always be glad I took it!

Just keep them coming, and I'll be a willing to buy them from you!

How do you combine heart rending and laughing out loud?

Enjoyed this book as much of not more than the others. Several characters are on journeys of growth and discovery. Akio’s is the hardest to watch, but trust me- it ends beautifully (have hope!). Abel and Takumi the EI’s are hysterical. Omg, loved that whole bit as they grow in snarkiness and awareness. The side plots with Koda and Horst, and with Eve and Yuko add a soft (and often funny) side. I so love how the KG universe sponsors a sense of family as well as a justice.

Waiting for the next one!

So glad we got another!

Akio has been one of my favorite characters. Seeing him suffer over the death of his lover was a sad moment. It was also sad that we were only getting 3 books. So glad for the extension to six!

As a retired Crisis Counselor, looking at the mental health of people involved in violence is part of my life. Somehow, I never thought of mass killing as a way of working through this kind of pain. I have to admit, I also never thought of the effects of PTSD on the development of an AI. Can't wait to see where you go with this!!

Love Akio!

Fighting through his pain of losing his first true love, twice, Skip goes after the Sacred Clan seeking both vengeance for him and freedom for slaves. Dealing with two EI companions who are evolving and taking on teenage rebellion personalities proves trying for the team but also lends some comedic relief to Akio's sombre mood. Horse takes his young family on an adventure of their own in a quest to help his beloved and find answers to questions about his children's development. Excellent install!ent.

Action packed!

If you like a lot of action and demonstrations of raw, slightly unhinged power, this book is for you! We watch as Skip deals with his grief while making the world a better, safer place. Great writing will keep you up nights to finish. Can't wait for the next book!

I just can't stop reading these books books. Great story!

I like to read, I read at least a book a day, sometimes more. Akio has been great fun to read. I just reread The Terry Henry Walton books and Akio and friends were a big side story in those books. I'm really looking forward to book 5 in 2 weeks. What a great ride! Charles and Mike thanks for the fun.

Another good book

Akio is taking down lots of the enemy while trying to come to terms with his lovers death. His friends are there for him providing new weapons and watching his back. I love all the books in this series, the characters make you feel for them and there is always lots of action taking place. On to the next book to see what happens next.

Wait for the end

I was extremely concerned with Akio's actions and temperament for almost all of this book. The person he is in this, and the development he encourages in his companion EI had me worried that he wouldn't heal. I even had to put the book aside for a while and read something lighter cuz it was sad. The end was worth it.

Great Skip story

Akio fighting his demons. He is cleaning up the tiger clan along with Abel who has his own problems with the clan although he is an AI. There are some adjustments for others, but people can only let go of their burdens when they are ready.

The journey continues as Akio wreaks his vengeance on the Sacred Clan. Scattered and hiding the clan continues their oppression of humans and their actions seal their fate. A good read.

Macabre and gory but so profound

Akios journey in this book was heartbreakingly sad. I wondered many times through the book what would be the catalyst to break the hold his grief and rage had on him. A perfect ending to a profound story!
