Can a girl with no past have a future with the man responsible for stealing her memories?
Elia Daniels can’t remember the last five years of her life. She doesn’t remember having a falling out with her best friend or where she works. And more importantly, why was she riding her bike through Central Park in the middle of the night. Understanding what drove her into the rain that night feels like the missing piece. When her search reveals that no one is looking for her, she’ll have to rely on the help of the workaholic millionaire who feels responsible for her accident.
Charles Breckenridge, III hasn’t taken a day off in years from his father’s private equity firm. When the taxi he’s in hits Elia in the middle of a storm, nothing is the same again. For the first time in ten years, he’s stepping away from work and focusing on Elia. She’s stubborn and brave in ways that he’s never encountered, but she’s lost in a way that drives him to help her. His father, his best friend, and his ex-fiancée are determined to undermine their relationship at every turn.
As the relationship between Elia and Charles heats up in the tight quarters of his apartment, they have to decide if they want to pursue the other in spite of the power balance between them. At every turn, there seem to be detractors working against them. Is fate enough to keep them together or will other forces both known and unknown keep them apart?
Thanks to Nicole Sanchez for this ARC- I received it in exchange for an honest review! I was so excited to read it and support this debut author!
4 stars!
Central Park Collision is the debut from Author Nicole Sanchez starring Charles, a rich workaholic whose engagement crumbled because of his marriage to his work, and Elia, an innocent bystander hit by Charles’ rideshare late one night. When Elia wakes up heavily injured and with no memory of the last 5 years of her life, Charles steps in to help her recover due to his guilt. From here, we have a close proximity trope where their feelings for each other, growing steadily as they both recover from the accident and guilt, come up against outside pressure from Charles life and Elia’s lack of memory. As they get to know each other and their friendship grows into something more, they must decide if the past weighs too much against their future.
While the first 40% of the book was slow for me, it eventually picked up as their relationship grew and Elia tried to recover what happened over the past five years that resulted in her being utterly alone and riding her bike during the hurricane that fateful night. While the pace and writing struggled in the beginning, once it picked up, I couldn’t put this book down. I needed to know what had happened to Elia the past 5 years of her life and I spent the whole book rooting for her and Charles in this unconventional relationship. I can understand Elia’s worries about the power dynamic- she has absolutely nothing while Charles has everything he could ever want but nobody to spend it with until Elia comes along. His guilt over his previous relationship drives him to offer up Elia support and this begins to adjust his previous views of a work/life balance. Together, Elia and Charles were such a cute couple and I loved watching their story blossom. I’d rate this 4 stars and you should definitely keep an eye out for this book, releasing January 31st, 2022.
I finished this In 5 hours and I’m ready for the next!! It was well done. The story was engaging, the angst was enough to be believable without being boring or exhausting, and it was a decent amount of spice without being super overt!
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
This the third book in the last few weeks that I’ve read by a debut author and I have to say these women are all hitting it out of the park! Central Park Collision was so well written that between the story and the characters I was sucked in from the beginning. If it wasn’t for having to work, I would have finished this in one day because I had to know what was going to happen.
I feel like Elia is all of us at some point in our lives. Most people I know, myself included, have at some point felt like we weren’t good enough or didn’t belong, so seeing Elia go through this was a reminder that we’re not alone in that feeling. Granted, having Charlie’s father and best friend meddling in things did not help at all since they were constantly belittling and degrading to her. Luckily Elia has Charlie and her best friend Vivian to fight for her and remind her that she is more than good enough. Speaking of Charlie, he is just scrumptious. He’s so patient and caring when it comes to Elia’s recovery not to mention so incredibly sweet and respectful when their relationship progresses, and you can tell how much he loves taking care of Elia. The character growth of Charlie and Elia was so well done. It wasn’t an instantaneous change, it took time and the majority of the book for them to both grow individually and together as a couple.
I just loved this book so much. It showed that no matter what direction your life is going, it can all change in an instant, and that some of the greatest things can come out of something terrible happening. Also, while love is not alway easy, and can be downright hard and complicated, when it’s right, you don’t give up and you fight for it. Central Park Collision gave me all the feels including some tears, so get yourself a bottle of wine, a box of tissues, and some chocolate, and settle in to read a great romance.
Let me start by saying I did enjoy this plot and the story of the book itself. It was a great storyline and with a little more flushing out I think it could have been a 5 star worthy review easily.
Man crashes into woman, woman looses her memory, man feels guilty and helps her in every way possible. He’s sweet and compassionate even if he’s a total workaholic! He’s even pretty fun and very sexy!
Our heroine in the story is struggling to come to terms with a future she can’t foresee and a past that she can’t remember. Her struggle is really felt in the book. Also her struggle between his lifestyle and upbringing and hers.
Everything in their lives doesn’t fit, and his family and friends will do everything they can to split them apart.
Where I struggled was the flow of the writing. At times it felt choppy and disjointed. This is nothing a great editor that understands flow and sentence structure couldn’t fix. There was also a lot of monologue and repetitive themes for me. We know she lost her memory but some of the thoughts of the H and h were repeated too often. Where there could have been true angst, it left me feeling like I was reading the same thing over again at times.
In the end this was a solid 3 and a great start to the series. I would love to see this authors work in future books and see how she improves, stylistically and with story development.
Excuse my while I’m clean up this mess that this book caused… the tears were flowing with this one in the best possible way. Elia and Charlie is a couple that will stay with my forever. A reminder that love can come when you least expect it and sometimes we don’t feel worthy of it but someone who is actually worthy will fight for you. This book helped me clear the haze of a broken heart and reminded me that love can be simple or complicated, easy and hard, but when it’s right, completely amazing.
I love how each character showed growth slowly, with each other and for themselves. The way it was built up and the realistic way of being insecure and scared but wanting someone so much. I literally couldn’t out the book down and needed to find out how it ended, how it all was woven together and how it all was resolved. Charlie is one perfect man and I loved how he was loving, patient, respectful and so giving. He can buy me a 10k neck less any day :)
A amazing debut novel that leaves me wanting more of these characters!
I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.
I have been waiting with baited breath since May 2021 to read this book, and I was not disappointed at all! I seriously think I went through all of the emotions during this novel, and I do mean all. My most emotional reaction was literally pulling on my hair in frustration, ranting at Elia to get it together haha.
I can't imagine losing 5 years of my life, but I feel like Elia handled that news pretty well, considering. She is so strong willed and stubborn for most of the book and I loved that about her.
Charlie is a workaholic and seeing him discover life and wanting to do something besides work was fantastic. He slowly realized what was important in life, and I'm really glad that it happened because Elia came into his world.
There are so many toxic people in these characters' lives, I just wanted to see them suffer for every terrible thing they were doing. My frustration levels went through the roof during those moments haha.
I'm so glad I got the chance to read this novel and I'm very excited to see what else this debut author has in store for us!
Loved loved loved Central Park Collision! I received an ARC, and below is my honest review.
A debut novel for Nicole Sanchez tells the tale of Elia, who is hit by a taxi in Central Park, NYC. None other than Charlie Breckenridge (rich, swoon-worthy finance guy) is occupying the taxi that hits Elia, and feeling guilty af, he feels obliged to take care of Elia's hospital bills, expenses and journey to recovery (physically, emotionally and mentally), as Elia suffers from short term memory loss.
I loved the chemistry between Elia and Charlie, and the angst of not knowing what had happened in the last five years of Elia's life. The TW did give away a little of what Elia had encountered in the five years, but after reading those few scenes, I'm glad Nicole did include a TW. Not too detailed, but enough for you to see what Elia had endured.
Charlie is just swoooooon, and Elia is a strong, independent woman, to the best of her ability, considering she is on a journey to rediscover herself.
Written beautifully, all in Elia's POV and just the right amount of love, angst and plot development, I loved this and finished it in one sitting (sorry not sorry to my unfolded washing staring at me from across my loungeroom).
Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed, I know I wasn't!!
I honestly don’t know where to begin with this review. I’m not a huge fan of contemporary romance, but this book hit differently. So many emotions. Realistic actions and reactions! I do feel though, that it was a bit rushed in some parts of the book, but the gist of the story really hits home. I mean, what would you do if you lost 5 years of your life? I read this book in one sitting, and am happy to say that I am looking forward to her upcoming books.
Wow! I so proud of Nicole and her writing! As a debt book, this was amazing! The details, emotions and storyline were brought to life. I absolutely felt the love, the loss, and much more along the way! This is a must read if you love contemporary romance. It checks all the boxes!
I can't even tell you how excited I was when I got this ARC of Central Park Collision by Nicole Sanchez. I was literally over the moon, when I read what the book was about. It definitely grabbed my attention and I had to read it, and omg I wasn't wrong. It was an absolutely breathtaking read.
Central Park Collision grabbed me from the first page, this book has such a strong start right through to the end, it literally pulled me into this heart-stopping read. I couldn't put this book down, I was reading every spare moment I had, including reading way past midnight haha. My eyes were aching by the end but omg it was so worth it. Nichole has written such a brilliant heartwarming story, my emotions were in a mess from laughing, to crying and having my heart melted by absolutely adoring scenes. Like seriously I need a charlie in my life, I mean who wouldn't? This man is the most loyal and affectionate person ever.
The characters are written so well, Elia Daniels what this poor young lady goes through is a hell of alot, to not remember 5 years of life and having to put all her trust into a stranger and stay with him in his rich apartment, it's certainly brave lol. Elia is strong and stubborn but so amiable. She won't let anyone push her around and tries her best at everything, she is so determined to find out what happened in the last 5 years of her life that she can't remember. Her struggles made me tear up. I could feel the pain she was going through and the frustration of not being able to do stuff, and when she did find out answers, I literally cried for her. I wanted to get into this book and hug her. Loyal and handsome charming Charles Breckenridge known as charlie *sigh* I seriously have fallen in love with this man, I mean how many guys would change their life to look after a young lady when their taxi hit her. Even though he still has his head stuck working, he puts himself out above and beyond.
I loved the chemistry that grew between Elia and Charlie. It was super adorable and very sexy. Their relationship is tested all the way through this book, not everyone agrees with there love and feelings for each other and there are some overwhelming discoveries, this was jaw dropping, I was sitting like omg what no way. This was an extraordinary first Contemporary book and I definitely will be reading it again. Nichole Sanchez has such an amazing imagination and I can't wait to see what you have for us next, I recommend this book so much your be totally blown away
Amnesia is fickle and when Elia finds herself in a car vs bike collision, she realizes that she lost the last 5 years of her life. Enraged, confused, and wanting to figure out just who she is, she allows Charlie to be her helping hand as she heals and navigates the world as a new person.
But people aren’t as they seem, lies come to light, and Elia and Charlie have to find a way to wade through the murky waters of discovering who she is and if her past is worth discovering.
This fast paced romance takes you through all the feels and is so worth binging with snacks at hand—-you’ll need them for when it hits the fan.
For a new author I think she did a wonderful job. The book keep you engaged and not being able to wait to read more. I loved the characters and can't wait to read her next one!!
Omgosh. At first I was like hmmmmm amnesia trope…haven’t read one of these in a long time…let’s see. But about halfway through, I was committed, but I wasn’t expecting what I got and I really enjoyed how the story progressed and ended. I went through the gamut of emotions! I am excited to read more with these characters!
I just finished a WONDERFUL beta read. You NEED to pre-order this one. Make sure it's on your TBR. The characters are memorable, the amnesia trope is excellent, the steam is fabulous, and it has ALL the feelings! Highly reccomend this one for a romantic escape this fall. Thank you so much to the author for the chance to read this amazing book! This review is left voluntarily.
This wonderful debut is a contemporary romance set in New York City. The main character Elia is suffering from amnesia after being hit by a car. Charlie, a passenger in the taxi that struck her, feels responsible for the accident and tries to help her and make this right in any way that he can. Romance ensues.

I really enjoyed this book! Such a great debut novel from Nicole. I was totally engrossed in Charlie & Elia’s story, I stayed up until 1am to finish it because I just had to know how it turned it. It definitely kept me guessing, and I guessed wrong lol. If you like steamy, forced proximity romances this is one for you! Spice: 3
Well, I wrote this, and it feels special being the first person to leave a review. I like to think it's a good book, but I leave that up to the good readers of Goodreads to decide!
I love a good amnesia story. This one was well done without being overly cheesy.
On a dark and stormy night our MC's meet when Elia is knocked from her bike by a taxi taking workaholic billionaire businessman Charles home at 2 a.m. after another long day in the office. Elia is seriously injured. Feeling responsible, Charles rides with her to hospital, pays her medical bills and keeps a vigil until she wakes some time later with a broken arm and leg and a loss of the last five years of her memory.
No one seems to be worried about Elia's whereabouts and she has no contacts in her phone, no social media accounts and no memories of friends or workmates. Her injuries mean she can't manage in her seventh floor walk up apartment, so Charles offers his penthouses spare bedroom as a place to recuperate.
Much to his father's (who is also his boss) dismay Charles works from home for a number of weeks to allow him to care for Elia and take her to medical appointments etc. He feels guilty, believing that if he had just left work at a normal time they never would have had the accident. Even so, he's still permanently attached to his phone and laptop, working well into the night to get business done.
Charles enjoys Elia's company and she, his. There is an attraction that builds slowly, with neither willing to take a step to acknowledge it. Charles feels there is a power imbalance and doesn't want Elia feeling pressured. Elia feels she is Charles's guilt-project and belives she doesn't fit into his high-society lifestyle .
Once Elia becomes a little more independent, Charles returns to work, leaving her at the apartment during the day for her PT sessions but coming home much earlier than usual for dinner and to spend time with her. The two have movie nights and live a basically normal "couple" life even though Charles still works alot. She's feeling grateful to him but wonders what happened in her life over the last 5 years that have so isolated her from her friends, especially Vivian her best friend from college.
When the MC's do finally get together there is major push-back from Charles' family and his best friend. They want him back with his ex-fiancee (who dumped him because he worked too much). There is some angst when Elia is trying to decide if her intrusion into Charles' previously picture perfect life is worth it, despite the deep love the feel for each other.
This book contains multiple descriptive love scenes, some of the later ones I thought were superfluous to the story. By cutting down on these the book would have been a little shorter (it is 387 pages) and more streamlined, but still keeping all the heart and drama.
Overall, a well-written romance which delivered on all the promises of the trope.
To set the scene📚: In this debut novel by Nicole Sanchez, Elia Daniels is catapulted into a new life when she’s hit by can while out riding her bike. She wakes in the hospital missing the last five years of her life, with only her wallet and phone to go by. Her only source of comfort is the mysterious (hot) stranger sleeping in the hospital chair next to her. Her handsome knight in shining armor happens to the passenger of the cab. Laden with guilt from her injury, Charlie politely demands that she recover at his apartment. She figures it’ll only be a few days while she gets her life in order but as the days creep by, she painfully realizes no one from her past is looking for her. What originally started as a temporary arrangement starts to feel all too comfortable.
The characters 📚: Elia Daniels is NOT having a good year. Even missing key information, you can tell that she’s really going through it right now. She’s desperately trying to figure out the missing pieces in her life. But the more she searches for answers the more she wonders if it’s even worth remembering.
Charlie is a workaholic golden retriever of a man. From the minute he meets Elia, he bends over backwards trying to help her. He’s incredibly kind, and is trying his best to be a better man.
Thoughts and Plot 📚: Their relationship evolves so sweetly. It’s clear that they mean a lot to each other very quickly. As far as their character development goes, I personally didn’t feel like enough happened. They’re both kind of just chugging along, but you don’t get to see how much they’ve changed as people after knowing each other. Charlie SAYS he changed, but there could have been a little more in page.
Elia has a triumphant moment where she gets herself out of a bad situation, yet I found myself getting frustrated by how everything went down. Of course this is a romance, so she ends up with her happily ever after. But with this situation, I felt cheated by the fact that we didn’t get to see her stand up on her two feet. I wanted so badly to see her success beyond getting the guy at the end. Earning her own money was something that meant a lot to her and I really wanted to hear about her work. Instead, we get a blink and you’ll miss it one sentence wrap up in the Epilogue.
Why you should read it 📚: It’s a very easy read. It’s cute and has mysterious undertones as you try to figure out what information Elias is missing. There was a good twist about who the true villain of the story is. I really enjoyed it and think others will too.
Mood: Mysterious, Conversational, Angst Diverse cast: Not at all Spice: Yes POV: single, first person
I rarely leave reviews. And I can be a pretty harsh critic. I opened this book expecting a lovey dovey boring story, with all the normal turns. This is not what I got. I darn near read it in one sitting.
Charlie and Elia. Rich guy hits” poor girl with his cab. She gets amnesia, and a slew of broken limbs. Charlie nurses her back to health. There are old relationships with family and friends that have to be addressed. Lots of feelings happen. Life changes have to be addressed. Nicole Sanchez wrote so well, that I swear I could feel what was happening to Elia.
I hope you give this book a shot. You (probably) won’t be disappointed.
I enjoyed the characters and the plot of this book. The character growth and relationship was written in a realistic and believable way. Elia struggled with not only losing her memory but also questioning her future and that really could be felt through the writing.
However, I felt at times it was a little slow and the flow didn’t quite work. Some of the sentences seemed really wordy and had excessive comma usage.
Reading the blurb, it seems like such a clichèd, overused storyline.... girl gets amnesia and falls for the billionaire. But, what the blurb DOESN'T tell you, is how much you'll enjoy this retelling of it. The characters aren't perfect; they have flaws and insecurities, and you'll fall in love with Elia a little bit as she takes a chance to restart her life. (No spoilers, I promise!). Just give this feel-good story a chance
I had a really hard time with this hero. I am not a billionaire romance girlie to begin with so his idea of impressing her by throwing money at her but not actually communicating is just not something I liked. The lack of communication was very frustrating as was the FMC’s inability to actually stand up for herself against anyone, including the hero. Just a hard time for me to read overall because of these factors.
If you want a book that you feel like you are there with the characters, you will want to read Central Park Collision. It covers every emotion of a relationship so you will laugh, cry and melt your heart.
Pretty good book for a debut author! You can tell that she really put her heart and a lot of thought into this book. I do as if some of the areas were too long and some too short. Good romance and a wonderful build for the rest of the characters. 4/5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great story about a young woman who gets into an accident and loses her memory - who has to be taken care of by the hot, rich guy who put her in the situation. Sharp writing and a gripping story, couldn't put it down! Can't wait for the next one.
This book is something you need to make time for. The story draws you in and you cannot put it down. It brings out lots of emotions and it tears up your heart. You can only read read read to get to the next part. I am sure you know it's an HEA but what a journey.
For a book that's a debut it was incredible. You made me cry, you made me laugh, you made me rant (sorry for the messages!!). I can't believe this is your book baby, again I'm amazed. Nicole, you have a gift!
