The Importance of Tithes and Offerings
As we operate in the law, order, and principles of God's Word, we position ourselves to experience His best. In Malachi 3:10, God says, "and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." Giving "tithes and offerings" is serious business, and I believe this is not only a practice for the Old Testament, but for the New Testament, as well as for today.
We honor God when He is first place in our life. Sowing "tithes and offerings" is especially honorable when it is given from our first fruits and not our last fruits. Proverbs 3:9, says, "Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine " In 1 Corinthians 14:40, it states, "Let all things be done decently and in order." This lets us know that there is "order" expected even in our giving.
In this book, I address whether "tithes and offerings" is a practice that should be honored today, and if so, what is the order according to God's Word. I also discuss what I have learned through my life experiences, that has proven to me, obedience to God's Word is far better than sacrifice. (1 Samuel 15:22)

The Importance of Tithes and Offerings emphasizes financial obedience and the sincere conviction behind tithing as a Christian. Why was this an important book for you to write?
For as long as I can remember, this topic of tithes and offerings seems to always spark a question or becomes an issue. Do we have to? Didn’t tithing end back in the Old Testament? Doesn’t God prefer me to take care of my family before taking care of the church? All of these are good questions, and on a human level understandable, but are not biblical. God’s Word is the only source we stand on whenever we have questions or concerns. God is a Spirit, and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24) How we personally choose to honor God with our finances is up to the individual that I cannot nor anyone else can answer for you. Therefore, for either of us to debate our opinion against each other is useless. This is why I explain in my book that you must decide how you will personally choose to honor God.
Do we have to? If you have to ask why or struggle with the heart to do so; then keep your money. God is not begging for your money; God only wants your heart and He wants a heart that gives cheerfully and not grudgingly.
There may be some who think that tithing ended back in the Old Testament. The only part that ended was the law requirement to do so. Jesus says, in Matthew 5:17, that he did not come to destroy the law, but to fulfill it. Since we are under grace because of what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross, we now have the freedom to choose. You can choose to tithe or not to tithe, just like you have the choice to serve God or not to serve God. Remember, God does not want robots, He wants each person to freely choose Him with their heart and their money.
When it comes to taking care of your family versus the church? Here again, you cannot compare the two. Saying the church dismisses the true one you should have the focus on giving to and that is God. As I discuss in the book, God is fully aware of our responsibilities and when we take care of God’s house (the church) He will take care of our house. But if you already have the wrong focus in your giving you will not reap the benefit of the blessings. If we find the need to keep going back and forth disputing why we should not tithe or offer, it just further shows our reluctance to trust God with our finances. This reluctance also shows that we do not trust that He is more than able to take care of our family and us through the tough times. But I know, God is able!
Do you view writing as a spiritual practice?
For me it is my foundation, I always say, it is all God through His Holy Spirit whenever I write a book. Otherwise, I will not do it. When I receive a topic in my spirit to write about, I pray and seek the Lord to see if this is something I am hearing from the Holy Spirit or something that I just want to do. If it does not flow from God’s Holy Spirit to me, then it is clear it is not for me to do.
How much and what kind of research did you undertake in order to put your book together?
I would say it came from my experience from tithing and offering for over 30 years, as well as my personal relationship with God for over 50 years. I know nothing by myself, it all comes from spending time with God and by reading His Word daily. It is true what the Word says in John 14:26. The Holy Spirit will bring all things to your remembrance. This is all I need to achieve and complete whatever He directs me to do.

The gift we've been given is life from God and there is a way to show our appreciation by tithes and offerings. In churches, they taught us that we should provide tithes and an offering, but they haven't explicitly stated the true nature behind doing so. A small percentage, usually 10% of your salary, is given as a way to help out the church. Reading this book would teach us everything we need to know to become a great servant of God.

"When you are giving something to the Lord, it should mean something to you; it should cost you something." Jacqui D. Williams wastes no time to sugar-coat the truth in her book The Importance of Tithes and Offerings. In it, she confidently presses to straighten out the misunderstandings Christians have regarding tithes and offerings. Williams pours out her heart on the matter of lovingly obeying God and honoring Him with giving. It is very inspiring to see someone so devoted to pleasing God.
When I first started reading the book, I felt ashamed of my attitude toward giving. I had always acted like I was doing God a favor by sowing my tithes and offerings. Now I realize all of it meant nothing because my heart was not in the right place. I am very grateful to God for leading me to this book to change my ways.

Tithes and Offerings have always been a constant topic of debate in our church to the point that our senior pastor had to decide to scrap it and rename the giving part of our Sunday Service as "Love Gifts". It broke my heart to see so many members of our church who seemed so on fire in every other activity be so against giving even just a tenth in their increase.
"Do you really think you could earn that money without God blessing you with the strength and skills you need?" I had wanted to tell them but I was just a youth in the middle of many elders. Reading Jacqui D. Williams' The Importance of Tithes and Offerings has renewed my hope that the spirit of giving will be revived in God's churches. I now feel motivated to reintroduce tithing to my church family and, of course, I will start with faithfully sowing my own tithes myself.

The Importance of Tithes and Offerings is a Christian-based religious book by Jacqui D. Williams. This book goes into detail about what tithes and offerings are in the Christian faith. She gives scripture to back up her interpretation and meanings of these words and why it is important for worshippers.
Yet again I have enjoyed a book by Williams. She has a captivating writing style that comes across as explaining her faith without being forceful or judgmental. I like how she says if you do not have a relationship with God, you can have one, and the works out how you can have one. I learned a lot reading this book. I did not know about tithes and offerings, and I think that it makes sense. This book is intriguing to me because I am not religious, but it is nice to learn about how people believe in God and what they follow. I think anyone interested in Christianity or are Christian could benefit from reading this book and enjoy it.

The Importance of Tithes and Offerings is a book that explains the ins and outs of tithes and offerings with all honesty. Jacqui D. Williams shares how sowing our tithes and offerings with a cheerful heart pleases the Lord. It was an interesting thought about how there are no financial transactions in heaven but it made me realize how God actually doesn't need our money. In fact, He doesn't need anything!
The Importance of Tithes and Offerings awakened me to what God really wants from me and that is my heart that lovingly and cheerfully obeys His commands. The idea is to honor and please the Lord with our giving and giving the best of any of our increases shows how we place God above everything.

The Importance of Tithes and Offerings gave me a lot of lessons about giving and the attitude of the heart when giving. Perhaps the most memorable chapter for me would be the third chapter "Is Tithing for Believers Today?" in which Jacqui D. Williams destroys every excuse many Christians use to avoid giving their tithes. It was an eye-opener and maybe even a scolding for some.
The Importance of Tithes and Offerings is a book filled with truth and honesty which only aims to please and honor the Lord. It awakens the spirit of giving within its readers and sets straight the wrong practices regarding tithes and offerings. I highly recommend this book to those people who want to find out how to honor the Lord correctly.

Jacqui D. Williams meticulously dissects the topic of tithes and offerings in her book The Importance of Tithes and Offerings. In it, she gathers and compiles Scriptures that support all her claims regarding the matter and one could not help but be blessed by her heart which lovingly seeks to glorify the Father. Williams wholeheartedly believes that God deserves the best and aims to spread that word to everyone willing to listen.
I was very blessed upon reading the book and could not help but become introspective about my attitude toward giving. I looked back on my past and realized I had a passive attitude, neither cheerfully nor grudgingly giving. This book helped me fix that attitude and I aim to please God with my giving from now on.

I'm really happy to find a book that emphasizes just how important tithes and offerings are. Many Christians use Jesus' fulfillment of the law as an excuse to avoid giving their tithes and offerings. Jacqui D. Williams, however, steadfastly convicts her readers to examine their hearts and decide how much of our money and how much of our lives we are willing to give over to God. I was truly blessed by this woman's heart that is so in love with God and faithful in her service.

"When we choose bills and other things before God, it only increases the responsibility for more bills, because you left God for last." This passage from The Importance of Tithes and Offerings made me pause and think of its implications. I understood exactly what it meant after praying to God for enlightenment.
When we put God first before other things, we are already putting the responsibility of those other things in God's hands. The Importance of Tithes and Offerings by Jacqui D. Williams is truly a book written by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Jacqui describes her faithful giving as a part of her personal relationship with the Lord and I couldn't agree more. Ever since I started regularly sowing my tithes and offerings, I felt God's hand in my life more clearly and I could feel His almost tangible presence every time I pray. God indeed remains faithful even when we are not but it doesn't mean we are pardoned from honoring and glorifying Him in all that we do. The Importance of Tithes and Offerings opens the gateway for its readers to start sowing their tithes and reaping God's blessings and relationship. Jacqui D. Williams is a follower of Christ who endeavors to please God in everything she does and in all aspects of her life. I was truly blessed as I read her book The Importance of Tithes and Offerings as it opened my eyes to the truths behind tithes and offerings. I have always been faithful in giving my tithes but I always thought offerings weren’t compulsory. How wrong I was.
Just the fact that I was so close-handed and meticulous with giving the exact tithe with nothing added showed exactly where my priorities lie. It is all thanks to The Importance of Tithes and Offerings, that I am now able to honor the Lord with my giving. Kudos to the author!

Most people have this twisted idea that sowing our hard-earned money into our tithes and offerings is a loss and will surely lead us into poverty. Jacqui D. Williams smashes this thought in her book The Importance of Tithes and Offerings. Williams explains the nature of blessings that are poured out from sowing or tithes and offerings. God made it so that blessings are naturally poured out on His children who faithfully honor His law. Just as gravity makes things fall, so does tithing make blessings and favor fall. A quote from this book that sums it all up is "Tithing isn't about taking something from you; it's about getting something to you through your love and obedience to God."

This book has been such a blessing to me and my family! Since reading Jacqui D. Williams' book on The Importance of Tithes and Offerings, I have started to be faithful in giving my tithes and more generous in sowing my offerings despite the crisis I was currently facing. I also tried my best to encourage the rest of my family to do the same. The results were almost immediate! God immediately lifted the burden from my heart and I felt at peace for the first time in a while. Truly God is faithful and generous to fulfill all His promises and covenants. If you are going through any crisis, trust the Lord and surrender it to Him just as He promised in Malachi 3:10.

I am a firm believer of the power of Tithes and Offerings and my heart soared when I read Jacqui D. Williams' book on The Importance of Tithes and Offerings. In it, Jacqui imparts her testimonies of God's favor on her and how she desires to please God in every aspect of her life. I was very happy to find a fellow Christian who values the importance of tithes and offerings as much as I do. God has worked many wonders in my life as I continue to be faithful with my giving. The Lord never lies and He is always faithful to fulfill His promises. This book affirms all of that and more. After reading the book, I evaluated my own giving, wanting to be sure I am obedient to God's Word and positioned to receive all that God has for me.

For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and, ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’ But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is Corban (that is, devoted to God)— then you no longer let them do anything for their father or mother. Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.”

Also, James says in 5:8 "But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel."
Pay your bills. Take care of your family. You give God a bad name when you don't.
