What crazy ride Erin took us on
ღ Fair warning; this is one of Erin’s dark reads, and most of you might not like Cruz, he is pretty heartless at times, and most importantly I know that, you are not going to like the way he treats women at times… but the hard reality is this is what life is like in Cartel’s in Mexico
Mexico is regarded by many Americans as a Third World nation, dominated by drug cartels and impoverished people desperate to get into the United States. In this story half of that is true with Cruz …. His life is definitely dominated by drug cartels and killing
My name is Cruz Roberto Garcia. I was born in Tamaulipas Reynosa, Mexico and I am El Asesino, The murderer, the killer or whatever you want to call me….. I am the main hitman for the Sinaloa cartel
He never asked for this life. He wasn’t handed anything, and He had to fight his way through it all.
He is twenty-two years old, but he feels like he is eighty. He has lived a life that not many can say they’ve survived…… He is a bloodthirsty killer, and she is off-limits to him, she the Jefe’ daughter
Wow what twisted life Cruz has lived, and Erin told it so well….. I think that the only thing that I might not have enjoyed was how freakin naïve Arianna was for being a cartel princess ……. And lord how Erin left me wanting more of Cruz’s story with that last line

First off I have to say.. if you do not like violence, rape, sexual violence, and darkness, please do not read this book. This book is written for those that truly want to read a well written Mafia story. This author truly brings out a dark Mafia world to the pages that she writes. If you are ready get comfortable... Because seriously you're going to want to finish this book from start to finish. Erin bings into a cartel world... Where a boss trains his Killers to do just that kill. Cruz are leading character is a trained assassin, and he's good at what he does. And not only is he good he loves it. You will see the darkest of the dark within him and only a bit of his kindness and that's for the love of his mother and for the one he protects Ari The forbidden Mafia princess. And I use princess lately as you get deeper into the story you see what happens to her and the mafia world. There's so many twists and turns these characters have to face. It's the love is tested. Not only is the story, I love story but it's also a brutal one as you get deeper and deeper into the cartel. I highly recommend if you love Mafia stories this book is one of three get ready for the ride of your life. This author is truly amazing but the way she writes her story she truly can suck you in to the world that you read.

The amount of angst that this book has, I did not expect at all, though I will say it's so good I like the execution and the grittiness of the predicament that these two are in.

This was beyond intense and SO, SO Good!! At the end of every book by Erin I swear I have the same thought… no way will she be able to top this one and O.M.F.G she does every time. I started this late this afternoon and just couldn’t put it down, it grabbed me from the very beginning and held tightly until the very end. Now I can’t wait to read Matteo then Javier. Congratulations on another FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC story Erin, you once again killed me!! 🖤🔥🩸🔥🖤

Cruz and his mother were left behind by Cruz’s father to make it on their own in Mexico while he was in the U.S. They were taken in by the head of the Sinaloa cartel, Hector and Cruz was taken under his wings to learn to be an assassin. His other duty was to protect Hector’s daughter, Arianna.
If you like your mafia men on the dark side, Cruz is your man but he showed a softer side by the protectiveness he showed toward Arianna. As she was now eighteen he knew he was not a good man for her no matter what Arianna thought. Now with her father going off the deep end Cruz had to decide just how far he was willing to go to protect Arianna. There are definitely some dark elements to all of this but what got me turning pages as fast as I could were all of the twists and turns throughout this book.
I look forward to more to come from this author and can’t wait to see where she takes us with the Medallion Cartel.

A brand new series that delivers one hell of a story. Cruz and Arianna have a wild ride to take you on with their book. You'll be pulled into this world, sitting on the edge of your seat. It's a whirlwind of a sequence of events that'll lead you down the rabbit hole. All sorts of twists and turns with plenty to unravel and reveal. An unexpected ending that'll leave you wanting more. This is an excellent, well written story that is a must read.

Cruz is a very dark read and it's not for the faint of heart. He's hard, malicious and definitely has no problem killing. He's not called "El Asesino" for nothing. Arianna is the daughter of Hector Sinaloa of the Sinaloa Cartel, Cruz's boss. Cruz has been around Ari all of her life and she is his one bright light among all of the darkness. This book is an "edge of your seat" book. Just when you think you have things figured out another shocker is tossed in. Cruz is a great one sitting read.

This is a hard review to write.
I love the story, but I hate the way he treats women in general. I understand that it's been his conditioning for so many years, but it doesn't sit right with me, even though it fits the story perfectly.
Ari is a strange one too. For a cartel princess, she's very naive. Even though he's protected her, I would expect some knowledge of what is happening around her.
So, do I like him? no, not really, though I did thaw towards him slightly towards the end. Do I feel sorry for his upbringing? yes, absolutely. I think for a man so young to have done even half of what he has is bound to damage you. Can he change? I hope so.

Wow this author knows how to do dark and twisted and this book lived up to that. Ari and Cruz don’t have an easy relationship but is love ever easy? This story is gritty and dark yet is absolutely perfect. I adored every page. It had action and so much more.

Epic warning!!!! If you do not like dark and violent, this book is not for you!!! Otherwise, if you are like me and love it, then you need to run and devour this one up!! Cruz is as dark, twisted and violent as they come! But underneath all that cartel darkness he has a soft spot that threatens to kill the few he loves! His choices determine all and you don’t want to miss it!!

Cruz has always protected Ari from everything. He never thought he would have to protect her from his "best friend" and father. Things have changed with Ari's father, Hector, he has become more secretive and pushing Cruz to anger more and more.
This is a forbidden romance that shouldn't happen, but when they do get together it is hot!
I love the start of this series and can't wait to read more!

Cruz: The Medallion Cartel by Erin Trejo is an explosive, emotional and violent story that is not for the faint of heart. Your heart will be beating fast throughout this story, you may find yourself reading with one eye open, but Cruz is well worth the read! All I can say is that this is not Erin Trejo's normal storyline it only shows what a talented author and storyteller she is and worthy of a 10 star rating! This is Cruz Garcia's dark, dark, violent journey as El Asesino, a man who was trained as a killer at a young age brought into the Sinaloa Family by his mother working for Hector Sinaloa head of the family. Hector has taken Cruz under his wing as trained killer to do his bidding killing off his enemies and has turned him into a blood thirsty monster thinking he can control Cruz. Cruz is known as El Asesino as he glorifies each one of his kills in blood and erotisim and is feared by all just by his name alone. Cruz hates Hector and knows he is being played but has not quite figured out what Hector's game plan is, the only bright side to this dangerous drama is his overwhelming desire and love he has for Arianna his butterfly, Hector's daughter who he has vowed to protect with his life along with his mother from Hector. Cruz has such an overwhelming bond of love for Ari as he helped raise her and always promised her Forever and Always. This story is full of danger, violence, lies and betrayals but through all of this chaos the forbidden love that develops between Cruz and Ari is climatic. Ari is this sexy feisty young woman who has always loved Cruz and will do all she can to break down his barriers and make him hers. How long can they keep their affair a secret once Cruz gives into Ari will he be able to protect her before it's too late?

Now he is back in Mexico starting over as he takes on another role, but still thinks about his mariposa and what he lost. Will Ari finally come to terms that she needs Cruz and can't live without him? After all of the chaos and death surrounding both of them will they have their Forever and Always? Oh Cruz 🤬😋😍
This is a dark read & has triggers, so if you're sensitive or can't handle ruthlessness, this book isn't for you, your loss 🤷♀️
Cruz is a sexy asshole that you hate but love, which is not completely his fault. His momma was left by his American father to raise him by herself in Mexico, which didn't leave her with many job opportunities. So, when she was offered a job with the heartless Hector Sinaloa, the Boss of a very deadly Mexican Cartel, she knew she had no choice. Hector zeroed in on Cruz because even though he was half American, he had the darker features from his momma & that would give him leverage on both sides of the border. He groomed little Cruz to be an assassin that is heartless & ruthless with no mercy.
Cruz was all of these things, BUT he did have love in his heart for his momma & the beautiful Arianna, Hector's daughter, that he kept hidden. He was tasked with being Arianna's protector from the moment she was born, which he took very seriously.
Arianna has loved Cruz since she was a little girl & now that she's turning 18 she's pushing his buttons because she knows he feels the same way. She doesn't understand why he keeps pushing her away & why her father wouldn't want them to be together until she overheard something she shouldn't have.
As she grew, his love for her grew & he was having a hard time protecting her from himself, he had been warned not to touch her, which she doesn't know. However, Hector is more sick & twisted than Cruz ever realized & once he learned what his true intentions were for his daughter, all bets were off and he would do whatever he needed to do stop his plans, but at what costs????

He cares about nothing except the little girl he fell in love with at age four
Ariana Sinaloa is the daughter of the Sinaloa's mafia boss. She was sheltered and protected to maintain her innocence. She grew up loving Cruz and knows he's the one man who will always protect her.
Cruz and Ariana may have grown up together but her father would never let them be together except to allow Cruz to become her primary guard. Cruz tries to keep her at arm's length knowing he isn't worthy of her and to keep her safe, but Ariana finds a way to break down his resistance.
Cruz knows something is going south in the Cartel when Hector Sinaloa's behavior becomes more erratic and he starts an alliance with a twisted Russian crime lord. His Ariana is in danger but Hector keeps sending him away.
Thier story isn't a pretty one and Trejo doesn't sugar coat the brutal violence and abuse of women in the cartel life. She draws you in to a dark world and doesn't let you go right up to the last page.
While I know there are different rules in Cartel life, it wasn't easy to appreciate Cruz, and I really wanted him to keep his dick in his pants after being with Aria. I also wanted more from Ariana, she just seems too oblivious and innocent.

While I know there are different rules in Cartel life, it wasn't easy to appreciate Cruz, and I really wanted him to keep his dick in his pants after being with Aria. I also wanted more from Ariana, she just seems too oblivious and innocent.

This is a dark twisted mafia romance story.Cruz is a killer for the Sinaloa cartel.He was shaped into a cold blooded killer by Hector the head of the Sinaloa cartel.He feels as though his heart is so black he can't feel anything anymore.The one bright thing in his life besides his mother is Ari the beautiful daughter of Hector .He's been her protector since she was born an he was four years old.He loves Ari but knows she's forbidden hands off.When she turns eighteen she's going to a club to celebrate her birthday she says she's gonna get laid but Cruz almost blows a gasket.One the thought of anyone's hands on other than his makes him want to kill.He's supposed to protect her an keep her innocent he's not sure why but that's his orders but Ari wants Cruz she tells him she's in love with him an he tells her he loves her but they can never be together her father would kill them an his mother.Hector is changing an Cruz doesn't know what's going on with him but he wants to team up with the Russian mafia.He wants to work with Petrov.Petrov is one sick twisted guy who likes women young an pure but the things he does to them makes Cruz sick.There are so many twists an turns to this story you will be riveted until the very last page an leave you begging for more.I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.

Cruz packs a punch
I am a fan of this author and read so many of her books that I understand her style when it comes to mafia and MC romantic stories. Erin, the author, is good at storytelling and includes a violence that many authors can’t do along with the other parts to the story. Cruz is a good story. This character is all kinds of violent and sideways. He is unapologetically crude, abusive, and exhibits jerk behavior constantly. If you enjoy the genre then you will like this story. Arianna the lead female is innocent and has been protected by Cruz all her life. She has had no female examples of strength in her life. Her father leader of the cartel gave Cruz his baby daughter to look after to control Cruz. As Hector made Cruz a killing weapon, he had to balance Cruz’s feelings so Hector used Arianna and Cruz’s madre as a tool to keep Cruz under his thumb. The story is not sweet. It’s hardcore cartel-mafia story. Please fix the Spanish word in this book. The word Entender is in this book often but this is not the correct verb tense for how this verb is being used. The correct version of the imperative would be ¿entienda? Or ¿entiendo? Read On!

Cruz is taught to be a killer. He and his mother were left in Mexico when he is just a baby, by his white father. Hector sort of took him under his wing and made him into a killing machine. Cruz didn’t ask for his life but he did like it to a certain extent. The only people he loved and didn’t act that way around were his mother and Ari. Arianna is Hector's daughter and Cruz has adored her since the day she was born. He has always protected her and loved her. But he never saw a life for the two of them. Ari has always loved Cruz and wanted to be with him. When her father makes other plans for her, Cruz knows that he has to get her out. Travel through this book with Cruz and Ari, on their twists and turns to see if they make it out together or if they make it out at all.
Erin Trejo is a fantastic writer and knows how to weave a great tale. This is a new three book series and I can't wait to read the next book.

This is a new series from Ms. Trejo. It is a truly a dark book.
Cruz is call the Assassin of the cartel, it is what he has been molded into by El Jefe. He does what he is told, until it involves his butterfly, thats when he knows its time to make a move an take care of El Jefe.
Both Cruz and Ari(his Butterfly), have been raised together, Cruz has been her protector all her life, and doesn’t;t plan to stop anytime soon.
Ari, is the Cartels Princess, and his been kept out of the business by Cruz. when he father sales her to a business associate, thats the straw that breaks Cruz’s control.
Cruz is on the warpath and out for blood, but first he must protect his butterfly from harm.
They take on the cartel and comes out on top. Ari is protected and Cruz has taken care of their problems in Mexico. They now try to settle down and build on their love for each other.

Erin had killed with this book! From the first page you are pulled into the El Asesino! Cruz is a badass that takes no mercy. He has one job in this life and he does it very well. Sexy, strong, and no one wants to cross his bad side. He’s called in to do the jobs no one else can handle and my oh my does he handle them with his own wicked style.
Arianna is the daughter of the Mexican cartel. She’s been protected her entire life by Cruz. She has a sweet soul but longs to have his blackened heart. When shit goes down we find out just how far Cruz will actually go to take care of his butterfly. This is an absolute MUST READ! I hope this books gets a sequel so I can devour it just like I did this one. I wish I could give it 10 stars!!

Firstly, if you have triggers, don’t read this book. You’ve been warned, so don’t cry about it later.

Cartel’s aren’t known for their community service, they are known for their brutality. The world they live in is one where only the strongest survive, and this is true in Cruz and Ari’s story.
Love isn’t easy, and when you are trained as a cartel assassin, emotions are a weakness. Cruz and Ari have to fight both each other and the demons that haunt them in order to move forward, if they dare.

I was so excited to start this new mafia series. This author always knows how to bring the darkness (Dark romance)….Oh boy, did she bring it in this book. It was so dark and twisted!
Cruz’s story sucked me in from the beginning, and held me captivate till the end. Be warned, his story isn’t rainbows and butterflies. He grew up in the underbelly of the Mexican Cartel. Nothing is sugarcoated and it certainly isn’t for the faint hearted. Yes, I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I adore dark romance. Really enjoyed this book.

Dark, raw and dirty! There are a lot of triggers in Cruz’s story so be warned. But without them it wouldn’t make his story so moving. Raised in blood and violence Cruz only knows such things. But Ari is his weakness. She makes him see things in a different light. He will fight everyone and everything that gets in his way of protecting Ari, though unfortunately he can’t be there all the time. Now it’s time for those who took from Cruz to pay…and who better to carry out such a task than El Asesino

Cruz is the first book in the Medallion Cartel and an exceptionally dark read. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart. I however love the dark and this story was amazing. Cruz and Ari’s story is action packed, raw, gritty, and with twists and turns you won’t see coming. I loved Cruz and his determination to do whatever it took to protect Ari. A phenomenal page turning read and one I definitely recommend.

Amazing, gritty, action packed and drama filled start to a new series!! Cruz has led a hard life with the cartel and he fears no one the only loves two people and one he shouldn’t. Ari is his weakness and the forbidden he knows he shouldn’t but just can’t help himself. Ari is the light to Cruz’s darkness. He will do anything and everything to protect her but when s**t goes sideways how far will he be willing to go to protect Ari?

This might be triggering for some but the author always has a way of showing the raw and real along with her worlds. Cruz is not an easy man to deal with and some of the things he does had me cringing. But that's what made the story all the more real. It sucked me in and didn't spit me back out until the end. The chemistry is amazing, even when it was hard as well.

When Cruz and his Mama was left in Mexico by his runaway Father, Hector took him under his wing and made him what he is today, an assassin and a good one. Protecting Ari was one of his tasks until lines were crossed now het father might just kill him.

O.M.G….Cruz was intense and very dark. I enjoyed it although I can see if you have any triggers this book is not for you. Just a heads up about the possible triggers. Cruz made me cry and I felt sooo many emotions that my mind is feeling with it all. I am happy with Cruz and I enjoyed just his perspective. Normally I like the differing points of view from all the character (major ones) but for Cruz it just worked after all if it didn’t I think the whole book would be totally different and readers would be constantly trying to figure Cruz out. Anyway, Cruz kept me so engrossed that I think I read it from start to finish within a few hours while drinking my coffee (it got a little cold and had to turn it into iced coffee because I was sooo caught up in Cruz. I highly recommend Cruz and will be waiting for the next book in the Medallion Cartel. Erin Trejo, author, did a fantastic job with Cruz. Erin writes stories that you can get lost in to the point readers will not want to put it down and makes you feel a variety of emotions. Cruz was no different as it caused me so many different emotions and is filled with lots of drama, angst, actions and lots of heat. Erin is one of my absolute favorite authors and I love reading her books and Cruz was no exception. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Happy reading!
