Mafia Wars #7

Perfect Sinner: The O'Malley Family

Rate this book
I’m the mafia princess Nolan O’Malley hates to love.

The moment we collide, he wants to destroy me.
He should. My blood is that of his arch enemy.
I’m unsure if the war raging inside him or me is stronger.
Instead of running away or ending me, he keeps me close.
He watches my every move, and monitors each threat my estranged family delivers to me.
The close quarters we share only get smaller until there is no more distance between us.
Yet I still am who I am.
Time and again he saves me from every dark demon.
When we think the one person who wants to ruin me is dead, she isn’t.
This time, she won’t win. I’m coming after her.
Except my actions have unintended consequences.
And I should have known he’d come after me.
After all, he’s my perfect sinner.

”Perfect Sinner” is the seventh jaw-dropping installment of the “Mafia Wars” series. It’s an enemies to lovers Dark Mafia romance, interconnecting stand-alone, and guaranteed to have an HEA.

Can You Get to the Center of a Tootsie Pop?

This is a must read! This book. This series! Dirty, smokin' hot energy explodes from the pages!

Out of the gate, Nolan and Gemma have white hot chemistry but he's not interested in the trouble that he assumes comes with her. She's not one to be ignored. And that's when things start to get interesting. 😄

Mafia Wars Bk 07 Perfect Sinner Maggie Cole Quote 01

Things aren't always easy but I loved every minute. There's a lot of heartache and general violence including extremely nasty stalking, physical harm, and more. There's also the love, unexpected understanding, and a ton of compassion... except when it comes to Molly.

Mafia Wars Bk 07 Perfect Sinner Maggie Cole

When it comes down to it, I love how Gemma constantly surprises Nolan, like when they turn up at the pub, which is overflowing people:

'I like how she just jumped in. Plus, she looks hotter than I imagined in her O'Malley fitted T-shirt and skinny jeans.' -- Nolan O'Malley

Of course, his mind turns dirty. Hehehe.... And he's got a few moves of his own. 😍🤗😘🔥 Did someone say honey? 🍯

There is also a little nugget dropped at the end, giving us an idea where the next book is going. I couldn't stop laughing!! It couldn't happen to a better person! 😂😂😂

I think you could read this as a standalone but, personally, I'd recommend reading the series in order. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

🔥🔥🔥🔥 It's now available! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I saw some books by Miss Cole. I thought why not try one. And I picked up Perfect Sinner. I can say, I am very much disappointed with it.

Nolan is supposed to fearsome hero since he is in mafia. Instead he is a very drama king. His attraction toward Gemma is on and off through out the book. I only being shown insta lust.

While Gemma is more confusing character. She is weak when it comes to her stalker. But she is a bitch when it comes to Molly. The drama with Molly is too much.

Overall, not a good impression.

*Thank you to the Author for an eARC of this book.*

Another surprising and thrilling entry to the Mafia Wars. I loved the teases we got of this couple in Unchosen Ruler and I was waiting with baited breath to see what happened with Nolan and Gemma. The way that the author has this whole series mapped out is so evident with the care she puts into each story and the plot points that each novel must hit but still feels so unique and genuine.

Nolan and Gemma are oil and water but somehow they create this bond through their experiences that can overcome mafia wars and feuding families. The things that they have both lived through and the demons that haunt them are able to be overcome when they work as a team.

I also enjoyed learning more about the full scope of where the series is headed, because man, oh man… are we headed for an explosive ending.

Also, I don't know what new to add about the way Maggie writes steam and tension in her books but.. They always hold my attention and get my stomach fluttering. I loved the connection between Nolan and Gemma. The vibe was a mix between a bodyguard and a captor and it gave it this sweet forbidden element, even more so when the full view of Gemma's past become clear.

If you are in this series, you already know, but if you are not… I do urge you to start from the beginning, or at least from the first O'Malley book, Unchosen Ruler. The author recaps a lot for you, but you don't want to miss out on all the relationships that are already in motion.

It will come as no surprise that I am a simp for this series and I give it 5 shining stars.

Bring on the next one!

For those of you that are reading in order... I found out what Gemma whispered!! If you loved the Ivanovs and just knew those O'Malley brothers were hiding alphalicious depths you are about to be blown away. Nolan helps protect, guide and encourage Gemma to be the strongest person she can be. Gemma is so strong and sassy it is hard to imagine and read what she is going through with Orla. You will be on the edge of your seat to the very last word! You will start to see connections we have been following the whole series come together. Nolan is the perfect nerd and learns that you can't judge a book by its cover...or it's last name.

Perfect Sinner is the seventh installment in the Mafia Wars series and this is Nolan O’Malley’s story and I have been so eager to return to this series ever since the teaser of a cliffhanger in the previous installment, “Unchosen Ruler” where we get Gemma and Nolan’s story. We got so many teasers of this pairing from the previous book as the storyline are mirrors of each other. What I have really liked is how the storylines are mixed in the various installments, so you can easily read them as standalone or even out of order in the sets or order of these books. I knew that going into this book that there would be some delicious angst and lots of fun entanglements and some suspense due to what is happening to Gemma. But I found that Maggie Cole did a superb job in captivating their story so well. I was so intrigued into seeing how these two would work together because they are so opposites of each other but intense circumstances can really shift the priorities and bring the two most unlikely people together. From their first meeting, Gemma and Nolan had a fierce attraction to each other, but then Gemma revealed her true heritage, and as she comes from a family that are bitter enemies with the O’Malley’s, and now Nolan can’t believe Gemma has the same blood as his enemies. But when he realizes that she and her family is in danger and need protection, he will do anything it takes to protect her. Gemma has been tormented for months and it’s wearing on her mental state. She is losing everything that she is, but a love builds between herself and Nolan as the unexpected chemistry builds between them. But their enemy is gunning for them….Will Gemma and Nolan survive the coming tide?

This was a story that I was so eager for and I really had a fun time reading their story. It was so intriguing because you see how well matched they are for each other despite their differences. I really liked seeing the way in which they learned to adapt to living together, and I had a delicious time with these moments of angst that crop up. I was so intrigued from the get-go to seeing Gemma and Nolan learn each other and how they adapted to settle their differences, to what was more important. I also was fascinated by seeing the way Nolan was fighting his desire for Gemma and learned to see the other side to Gemma, the side not many are able to see. On the other side of the story, we have Gemma who has been psychologically tormented and we see the effect that it has had on her both emotionally and mentally. Maggie Cole really capitalized on this so well, and there was such an intense edge to the story that kept me hooked all the way through. I knew that Gemma would be driven to the edge, and we see how that builds into a crescendo and really respected the unique format of the plot that is grown throughout the story. The chemistry between Gemma and Nolan is intense and addictive and It was such a unique experience to see them work through their differences and find common ground and fight for each other.

You wanted to know who you are to me. I’ll tell you. You’re my everything—the woman I want to marry and knock out a dozen Irish babies with. The only woman on earth who can push all my buttons and stand up to me, and I still can’t handle having you out of my eyesight. You may have Bailey blood in you, but you’re the exception to the rule, a miracle among a cesspool of vile human beings. And one other thing, you’re not their princess. You’re my princess. So get it through your head. You belong to me, an O’Malley. Not them

Overall I found Perfect Sinner to be an intensely formed romance that was a battle of adjusting to commonalities, thrilling suspense to keep you on edge, and a passionate romance to leave you breathless!

These keep getting better, every book seems a notch up from the last, I wish there was a class above 5 stars.
Nolan to me was always the quiet, steady one. But wow when he gets his wild going he’s a force.
Fantastic book and awesome characters, great storyline too, more soon please.

I seriously stayed up all night to read this book, then did a complete re-read the next day because I just didn't want it to end. Maggie Cole is an absolutely amazing storyteller and I am blown away how she has been able to interweave all these stories in this series so they seamlessly perfectly fit together. When we met Gemma in Unchosen Ruler I wasn't sure if I liked her very much. And Nolan was a bit of an A*@hole. But wow, Maggie was able to redeem them both just by writing their characters so we saw their whole motivation for why and how they did what they did. I truly felt Gemma's terror as well as her complete annoyance with Molly. Nolan's hatred of the Baileys was so indoctrinated in him I totally understand why he couldn't immediately just forgive and forget. With each of the stories in Mafia Wars I just want more and more. Gemma and Nolan's HEA was perfect and as usual Maggie has set us up for the next story perfectly.

Absolutely riveting! I couldn’t put this book down!

Once again, Maggie Cole has left me bamboozled! I had all the emotions while reading Nolan and Gemma’s story.

Gemma is so much stronger than she gives herself credit for, despite everything she goes through. Will Nolan be able to help her see herself the way he does? Will their love thrive in spite of Gemma’s connection to an arch enemy?

This story has so many twists and surprises, be prepared to get dragged in fast! Maggie Cole continues to amaze me with the direction of this series. While I don’t want it to end, at the same time I cannot wait for the next installment!

If you're looking for a hard core enemies to lovers + a forbidden romance, then look no further because this book is it and everything more. The moment I started this book, I knew that I'd be addicted to Gemma and Nolan. The angst and the conflict about how wrong their relationship was had me sold right from beginning. Yes, as you can tell I am a sucker for the enemies to lovers/forbidden romance trope.
The MCs were obv a bit older - late thirties to early forties - although that did not deter me, as I initially thought it would. The smut was perfection and so was the drama and tension. Apart from the fact that Gemma was a tad bit dramatic, I enjoyed the overall plot. Also hands up if you're obsessed with possessive alpha males. I'm happy to tell you that Nolan is the exact embodiment of that :)
Ngl but I'm kinda addicted to this series and cannot wait to read Killian's story next. I'm sure it's gonna be equally good, if not better!

Oh O’Malley family you have my heart, I just love these Irish boys so much. One just gets better than the previous one. I thought Liam was going to be my favorite but I think that Nolan and his protectiveness and just the way he is has stolen my heart. There is just something about the way he protects Gemma that makes me swoon! Nolan is hard headed yes, but honestly so is Gemma! Gemma may be tough and strong on the outside but really she needs the protection that Nolan offers her.

There are a lot of twists and turns in Perfect Sinner and I kept myself turning the pages over and over and the next thing I knew I was done with the book. It will pull you in and not let go. There are a lot of really good steamy scenes in this book along with a lot of moments where you can feel the love between The O’Malley’s, the Ivanov’s and The O’Hare’s. They really are a solid group and it makes me want to have friends like them. Maggie Cole writes great friendships in all of her series but this one is especially epic how they all have each other’s backs! I know most talk about the steamy moments and the love the lead characters share in each book, but I love how they are all always there for each other! Those are amazing moments that come across the page perfectly.

Congrats Maggie Cole on another epic book. Each book keeps getting better. I always wonder what she will come up with next and I am always surprised in the best way. The heartbreak, the happiness, the relief, the love, the romance, the fighting for one another it’s all there and you will love every moment of it!

It's a revisit to the previous books

I was excited at the prospect of learning what was going on with Nolan and Gemma. As I was reading, I discovered that so much of Nolan and Gemma's story was covered in Liam and Hailee's story. I am a fan of this series and the O'Malley, Ivankov, and Petrov books, but in this instance I felt a bit robbed. I know that authors want to make it so any reader could enjoy their books without reading any other books in this series, but I had to just skip so many pages because I already knew and read those parts. I wanted to like this book but it fell short for me. I liked Nolan and Gemma and the family. This story seemed to miss that spark. Gem a spent the majority of this book denying her relationship with Nolan to anyone that asked. Also she never stood up for Nolan to her sister Hailee, Nora, Aspen, no one. here Nolan is putting his life on the line, making sure that she has guards at all times, etc. yet Gemma never stands up and says Nolan is treating me well. He makes sure that I eat every single day. He pushes me to workout and run again. Nolan is good for me. But No, Gemma doesn't stand up for Nolan. I am disappointed with this story.

Great read!

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: Protector
Angst: 😱😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Triggers: suicidal ideation

What another super smexy read in the Mafia Wars series! Great storyline with tons of twists and turns. Nolan and Gemma have the deck stacked against them from the get go due to past family drama, but the chemistry between them is super hot from the start. They shouldn't work. Gemma is impulsive, hot-tempered, and a little one the wild side. Nolan is the "nice guy", but a control freak. But somehow their chemistry works ❤.

Perfect Sinner is exactly what we expect from a Maggie Cole read. Super fast paced with tons of steam. It is book seven in the Mafia Wars series and can be read as a standalone, but best enjoyed read in order with the rest of the series. Can't wait for Killian's book!

Gemma is the newly discovered mafia princess terrorized by her estranged family,
Nolan is the O'Malley family computer genius but he is no nerd.
Gemma needs to be protected and this hot alpha male is just the man for the job!
Their chemistry is explosive and their steamy scenes will have you reaching for a cold glass of water or maybe jumping into a cold shower!
Another 5 star sexy read from Maggie Cole!

Once in a while you come across a book written so good you forget your reading and you feel whatever the characters feels. You loose your self so completely that you laugh cry rejoice with the characters as they do. This book was so good it took me to that place! I was so emotionally tied up in this book. It was hot! I had to lock my self in my car so I would be left alone to finish

When the O'Malley Romeo meets the Bailey Juliet 😍

What happens when two people from enemy families come together. Gemma didn't even know until recently what her family legacy was but that she knows she wants no part of it. But she is forced and blackmailed by her half evil sister Orla and with her dad soon to be released from the prison, she has nightmares of her future and is extremely scared about her future and what's to come.

Nolan is shocked and angry when he finds out his brother's girl, Hailee and her sister, Gemma is from the Bailey clan. He thinks they might be spying on his family. Even though he is agitated it soon becomes clear that both Hailee and Gemma are innocent. And reluctantly Nolan agrees to take Gemma under his roof when he finds out she's in grave danger.

Soon their proximity compels them to give into the fire of their chemistry but there are still things that will not let them come together.
The war between the families and several things at play make Nolan and Gemma fight for what they have.

But Nolan's bestie's sister, Molly also is doing her best in coming between them while Nolan is unaware and Gemma is agitated that Nolan would entertain Molly. But he just is protecting his friend's sister.

AHH.. This one had more of that delicious push and pull and opposites attract red hot chemistry mixed with lots of mafia action and secrets as usual is in this amazing series.
Also, omg, what was that about Killian having to do at the ending. I can't wait to dive into his book next. Loved this one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Quiet Love Story

I feel I need to be careful about my thoughts on this book. While reading, I ran the gamut from digging it to being annoyed to not liking it to kinda sorta liking it. Starting with the positives:

👍🏾 as always, Maggie Cole gives us a well written and mature story
👍🏾 older main characters; Gemma (FMC) is 36ish, and Nolan (MMC) is 42.
👍🏾 each couple in this series feels like a separate and unique entity. Their love story and romance are completely different from one other with different dynamics and sexual exploration and stress relievers.
👍🏾Maggie Cole does not shy away from complex FMCs
👍🏾the plot is always plottin'

With those good, there were things that for me made the story feel underwhelming

😶 the standoff conclusion with Orla.....major letdown
😶 situationship style relationship felt immature and hampered the communication
😶book length was too long
😶OW drama felt anticlimactic, especially towards the end
😶the ending feels petered off
😶I wish we saw more of Nolan's algorithm specialty
😶👍🏾 Gemma was a tough cookie to like. The vulnerability was nice, the moments of immaturity weren't but that made her a well-rounded character. Our FMCs don't need to be perfect or naive or innocent to be considered well written

Ultimately, for me, the fewer stars are because the situationship romance wasn't the sweeping love I wanted to see, and that time dragged the story at times, and it lacked that heated passion

The Saga of the O'Malleys and Baileys from Gemmas point of view. We got a glimpse into this with Unchosen Ruler. Gemma and Hailee are sisters and both seemingly unaware of their past. This story overlaps Liam and Hailee but gives the vantage point and events of Gemma and Nolan.

Gemma feels she is a shell of her former self. Reeling from family trauma and loosing what she worked hard to achieve has left her feeling unsure and slightly combative at times. Looking for protection leads her to make choices she didnt see for herself, and live in a constant state of unease.

Nolan is the perfect match to Gemma. He stabilizes her but encourages her. He listens and guides and also lets her lead. He is sweet and sexy while being protective and caring. His genius does have limits and occasionally he misses some of the obvious signals of others. This, among other drama, causes issues with his building relationship with Gemma.

When all the family drama comes to head, they realize how they feel and what they want. Their families understand the love these two share and the sacrifices needed. This is how we get a glimpse into the next book. Stay tuned, I have a feeling the O'Malleys are just getting started.

Enemies to Lovers

This is the 7th installment of Maggie Cole's Mafia Wars series. If you read Unchosen Ruler you finally find out what Gemma whispered to Nolan! I loved their love story and how much Nolan tried to fight his attraction because he felt it was a betrayal to his family. Gemma is one strong woman to deal with what her sister is doing to her and her family. This book also introduces you to more of the O'Malley family and additional dynamics to the story. Plus I got an extra meal idea from this book and love that Maggie adds things that can be brought into real life!!

Perfect Sinner by Maggie Cole is an enemies to lovers dark mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Tim Paige and Avery Reid. This is the seventh book in the Mafia Wars series. The book can be read as a standalone but the stories are interconnected.

I absolutely love Maggie's books! She does an amazing job pulling me into the story. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Nolan and Gemma. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Brutal Defender to be released on November 1, 2021 so I can get Killian and Arianna's story.

Tim and Avery did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like enemies to lovers romance, dark romances, mafia romances, or romantic suspense.

I don’t know how this author does this but I think the series just keeps getting better and better with each book. This is Nolan and Gemma’s story and it’s full of suspense, intrigue, steamy scenes and loads of action. Their relationship starts out with the old adage keep your enemies closer but it turns into real love and affection. They really balance each other out and are perfect for each other.

4 The timeline seemed off in this book compared to the last. A lot of chapters stated it was several months later making this book about 3 years long when it should of been only a few months in total. That threw me off the storyline. Nolan was the perfect sinner, well titled book. The characters are so realistically flawed that I can’t stop reading this series. One of my favourites.

Oh boy Nolan and Gemma are smoking hot🔥🔥🔥!!!

With this book we see Gemma who is getting terrorized by the enemy and how she deals with the extreme measures of protecting herself. So what does she do.. she provokes an O'Malley.

Nolan hates Gemma's family and will do anything to take them down, but will that include Gemma. With these two living together the strong desire will burn the house down.

The love/hate we see keeps you enthralled with the book. You will love the twists and turns in this book.

You will not be disappointed in Perfect Sinner

Maggie Cole does it again! I just knew that Gemma and Nolan were going to be fire and I was right. Maggie’s writing is so jaw dropping and realistic. There was a few times I had to walk away, even though I didn’t want to, to take a deep breath and remind myself that Gemma’s story was making me paranoid and there wasn’t actually a reason for me to be paranoid. I cannot wait for the next book. Oh and what Gemma whispered (Unchosen Ruler) was one of the most anticipated moments of the series!

Perfect Sinner is an absolute game changer. This is book 7 in the mafia wars series by Maggie Cole but book 2 of the O'Malley family. Nolan is one of the brothers trying to find his way in the family when he meets Gemma. The connection this pair have is unlike any other. They fight hard, but love hard. Through the struggles of their families both learn to find themselves again while doing it together.

I absolutely love how the overall story of the series carries to each book but we get to meet a new couple and learn their story and how it intertwines with the others. This book is so hot you might need to put yourself out with some water while reading!

Maggie Cole has certainly grown as a writer in her 2 short years as a published author. Her characters are more defined, her stories are darker and hotter. You can see how she plots and plans each character development with each new book in the series, but yet you get the feeling that she knew right from the beginning where each character was going to end up. After I finish each book, I think to myself "she can't do it again, there's no way she can top this!" But then comes the next book, and boom it explodes. The heat and chemistry between Nolan and Gemma is palpable. The story delivers a few twists and suspense. a fair amount of humor and a lot of sex. I think my Kindle may combust!

Oh my mercy, what a great book! Book 7 in the Mafia War Series, hooked me from the get go! Nolan O’Malley and Gemma O’Hare’s story is full of intrigue , hot, hot sex, plenty of action, and suspense you won’t believe.
Gemma is one tough chick perfect for Nolan and Nolan is perfect for her. The maneuvering through deep issues for both kept me on the edge of my seat.
Maggie Cole is a Master Writer and what a series she has woven! Bring on Book 8 . Killian O’Malley is up next.
