All I ever wanted in life was to be able to enjoy my daily naps, my daily dose of kibble and spend quality time with my friends. But lately Hampton Cove, the small town I like to call home, seems to have become the kind of crime-infested borough you hear so much about in the news. Take last week for instance. First a dead body was found in the field located directly behind our house, and then a girl was kidnapped nearby—all in the space of twenty-four hours!
And then of course there was the drama that really gripped, since it struck very close to home indeed: Tex, my human’s dad, discovered a distinct thinning of the hair on top of his head. Immediately he set out for a potential cure to remedy this unmitigated disaster, and thus set off a series of events that will have tongues wagging for a long time to come
Nic has a background in political science and before being struck by the writing bug worked odd jobs around the world (including but not limited to massage therapist in Mexico, gardener in Italy, restaurant manager in India, and Berlitz teacher in Belgium).
When he’s not writing he enjoys curling up with a good (comic) book, watching British crime dramas, French comedies or Nancy Meyers movies, sampling pastry (apple cake!), pasta and chocolate (preferably the dark variety), twisting himself into a pretzel doing morning yoga, going for a run, and spoiling his big red tomcat Tommy.
He lives with his wife (and aforementioned cat) in a small village smack dab in the middle of absolutely nowhere and is probably writing his next ‘Mysteries of Max’ book right now.
Well, Max solved it again! This story a young woman got kidnapped. I thought I knew who done it this time. But I was wrong again. Someone is also worried about hair loss. Gosh, was that funny. Plus more happenings. Read & Enjoy!
I honestly did not see most of the revelations in this book coming especially the whodunit. I'm not sure I completely understood Maxes reasoning on his second conclusion but he got it right. I love that Dooley is still so impressionable and innocent. I think I would love to live in Hampton Cove but this is as close as I can come so I will take it. This is a fun series filled with wonderful characters. While this book can be read as a stand alone, I would encourage anyone to start with the first book and get to know the characters and town as things develop and to follow Max and his friends in their adventures.
That Dooley! Sometimes he has me laughing so hard my eyes year up and I can't see to read! I just love Dooley and just how naive he is. Max finally got around to solving the mystery and saving Angel. So I guess the good Father is going to leave the priesthood. I wish him lots of luck!! This was a great story line! I totally enjoyed this Max mystery!!
This is the third book of the series that I have read. I'm giving this one 3 stars because it just didn't flow like it should have. Also, there was a blunder on how/where concerning the missing girl. Angel, the daughter of the priest's housekeeper, goes missing. Max and his feline friends enlists the help of neighborhood dogs to help snoop around. The best part of this story was Tex's anxiety concerning going bald and the treatments he uses to reverse losing his hair.
A local girl goes missing, Tex think she is losing his hair, and Fifi finds human bones behind the Poole’s back fence. Max is intrigued by the bones found just beyond his human’s fence line. This is well written and very entertaining. Waiting for the next book with a new adventure for Max and friends.
Surprises Galore: A Secret Comes To Light, An Abduction, and More!
This story is jam d packed! It starts with an abduction that almost resulted in murder. odelia, Chase, and the cats with neighbors, family, and friends manage to keep the reader not wanting to put the book down. Plus a secret I never saw coming just adds to the great book I just read! Another absolute delight.
Very enjoyable-especially with the plot centering around the abduction of a 19 yr old girl. A number of secrets are revealed and Tex seeks a "cure" for his imagined baldness.
Max and friends help their humans with figuring out how to find a missing girl. Tex, the town doctor, worries he is going bald. Max helps him out by licking his head. Must read to see if it worked!
Mac and his cat buddies solve a missing teenager mystery, a religious predicament, and hair tonic formulas. Mac as usual finds out that he is mystified by human hair cults.
In this one, Yex thinks he's found the perfect cure for his thinning hair. I find it annoying what stupid things Tex often does since he's a good doctor. Actually, for an M.D. with a license in good stead, he's pretty darn stupid!
The local pets find bones in a vacant field, the priest's housekeepers daughter turns up missing and Tex thinks he's going bald. All rolled into a hilarious story.
Funny cat antics and also witty moments from Ted as he tries to prevent hair loss all while the crew investigate a body dump and a missing teenager. Total entertainment.
Aliens haha dooley with his tinfoil hat I wish you would show a picture of the 2 of them I don't know what to read when I catch up so please get writing tyvm
Another cat story with a different twist this time. It amazes me how gullible Dooley is to anything anybody says. It makes for interesting reading for sure!
