“Psycho never looked so good.”
This book is book 3 in the Blood series, it has a continuing underlying story arch so read the first two before delving into this one. (They are worth it)
In typical Brea fashion there is violence, heat, blood, passion, anger but an underlying romance, sex, biting and more blood. This series is dark but somehow even with messed up, crazed, bloodthirsty characters it’s still captivating and dare I say appealing. (Please note, if there was a drop of actual blood, I’d be a heap on the floor)
The characters:
Jacob: there’s something about him. He’s crazy, really crazy. But there’s something likeable about his stalkerish, bloodthirsty ways. He’s possessiveness has a caring side. He will tear the world down for you and enjoy every moment of it.
Cambridge: controversial maybe but I just wanna slap Cambridge upside the head. His character is an a-hole I know, but argh he drove me mad. I expected him to be more Westonish in my head but his character had a spoilt brat feel. But he may have a couple of redeeming moments. Maybe.
Finnely: the one who has them all. He is hot tempered, fierce and powerful, craves different and twisted things from his partners but has a caring side too. His reactions to each partner are very individual which gives the book another dimension.
Rome: it’s great to see Rome become the wolf he was meant to be. After the second book I was rooting for him and his confidence, strength, healing and true self is good to see. I think we will really get to see more of his character in book 4.
Brea has a habit of taking the reader on a real rollercoaster of emotions. This book was no different I was gripped, disturbed, rooting for the characters and some side characters and she even made me cry. This series just keeps getting more interesting.
Oh and the little comment at the end about the next book is such a tease!
