Fake Marriage #3

Una aventura accidental

Rate this book
I’ve been obsessed with my dad’s best friend for as long as I can remember.
Does that make me a bad girl?

Let me clarify.
I’m not just mindlessly obsessed with him.
I actually like Maurice.
Letting him kiss me was a big deal for me.
I’m still holding on to my V-card.
And I want to hand it over to him every time I see him dressed in a suit.
Lucky for me, I see that a lot because I work for him.
Yes, he’s my boss and I should stop staring at him.
But my heart doesn’t seem to care.
So, when he needed access to his inheritance to help out my dad…
I proposed a plan.
A fake marriage.
Zero expectations.
No complications.

Yeah, right.
Who am I kidding?

‘Accidental Affair’ is a full-length dad’s best friend office romance, with loads of forbidden naughtiness – the kind that makes you go weak in the knees. This is Maurice and Brooke’s story, set in Salvation, a small town in Nebraska. Maurice appears as the mayor of Salvation in Book 1(Accidental Love) and Book2 (Accidental Baby). Ajme Williams has written a 5-star book that has the main characters dealing with the feelings they have for each other. Brooke has had feelings for Mo for a long time. Brooke is coming home from college and her father has asked Mo to see about getting her a job. Mo brings her into his office. Mo is the mayor of their small town. Mo brings Brooke into his office as his assistant and the other ladies do not like it. Mo goes to see his friend Frank and finds out that he needs to see his farm. Mo tells Frank that he will do what he can to help him. Mo has a trust fund but he can't get any money out unless he is married. Brooke said that she would marry him. Brooke's father agrees to this but Mo is not too sure about it. Mo finally agrees and he and Brooke get married. Things don't go the way that Brooke wants them to. Mo has received a call from Simon Starks and he is mad that Mo has stopped him from getting Frank's property. Starks is telling Mo that he knows what is going on between him and Brooke and he is going to call Brooke's father. Mo decides to go and tell Frank the truth about him and Brooke and when he gets to Frank's he comes out and pulls a gun on Mo. Brooke goes back to talk to her father and he tells her that she is not going back to Mo and if she does he will destroy him. Brooke tells her father that he has it wrong but he won't listen to her so she stays at her dad's. Things don't go well for Brooke and Mo. Now that Brooke is at her dad's it seems they have broken up and now he will need to pay back the money he gave to Brooke's dad. When Brooke finds this out she lets her dad have it.
Will Brooke finally stand up to her father and go back to Mo?
Will Mo realize that he loves Brooke and go after her?

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Brooke Campbell and Maurice "Mo" Valentine. As you remember we have met Mo in past books he is the mayor of Salvation. Well in this book we get more of his story and how he came to be a single mayor instead of a married one. We also learn how Mo and Brook met. As you remember she was introduced in passing in Accidental Baby. In this book we learn more about who she is and what her connection the mayor is as more than a job. See years ago Mo & Brook has a moment and we are talking about more than a kissing moment. Since then Mo has been trying to keep his distance. Now that she has finished college though she is home and her dad asks if she could possibly get a job at the mayors office. Mo is both excited and guilty about seeing and working with her again. Brooke knows the only man she truly wants is Mo. The problem is getting him on the same page. When circumstances give her the opening for so much more between then she is going to jump. Things in Salvation never go easy for the couples though its like you need to prove your love before you fully get it. Will this couple succeed and get their HEA or will they be the couple who proves even love can't get you through everything?

This is another amazing book in this series. Each book can be read as a stand alone. I recommend reading them in order so you don't ruin any of the surprises. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

This is a wonderful story about an older man, Mayor Maurice (Mo) and Brooke the daughter of his best friend. One holiday while Brooke was home they have an interesting night and he runs out saying it’s very wrong of him for what he did and he does not see Brooke until she returns to Salvation, Nebraska four years later and he offers to give her a job as his assistant. Brooke has had a crush on Mo since she was a teenager and thought it was her one chance to show him she really cared for him. Now that’s she back she is still hoping for a chance but Mo is one to stick by the rules and not go against her fathers wishes. When Stark comes to buy Brooke’s family ranch due to them having financial problems Mo does what he can to get his inheritance and they all agree to a fake wedding, yes another one! Haha Brooke goes to secretly live with Mo as his wife and Mo gets the money to help out her dad. There are twist and turns to their relationship and some are just down right good and others you want to ring Mo’s neck. When their secret is about to be exposed you will see whose on their side and those who are out to cause issues. When Brooke’s best friend, Tucker shows up there are more unknowns but he is one great friend for Brooke! I really enjoyed their journey and hope to read about Tucker’s. I enjoyed the second book in the series, Accidental Baby, but Accidental Affair didn't reel me in. The story is told by Maurice (Mo) or Brooke's point of view but there was no depth to either of the characters who we had met previously. There was a lot of sex and swearing and miscommunication but very little plot. He's almost twenty years older than her but she's always been attracted to him. She makes her move four years before which we learn about in the prologue. I didn't like Brooke's father, Frank, or his behavior towards his daughter or his best friend, Mo.

Set once again in a small town in Nebraska with some politics, shady deals, friends, coworkers and family. The story plodded along but it was hard for me to stay focused throughout even though I read it in less than a day. There were a lot of references to things that happened in the other books but almost too many details. I liked Brooke's friendship with Turner, her friend from college, and he seemed to have a good head on his shoulders. There was closure and a happily ever after in the epilogue that takes place four months after the start of the story. I will give other books in this series a try if there are any. I do have to read the first book in the series, Accidental Love.

Accidental Affair By Ajme Williams

Brooke Campbell has had a crush on her fathers bestfriend Maurice (Mo) Valentine since she hit puberty. Then when he divorced his wife and started spending more time at her house. While home from college she made her move when she was eighteen only for him to freak out after. He avoided her for the next four years when she would come home from college to visit her father. After graduation she decided to return to her hometown of Salvation,Nebraska to work. Things become complicated when she ends up working for none other than Mayor Maurice Valentine but that's not the most interesting part of their story. It's when her father Frank run into financial trouble and is going to lose everything. Maurice offers to help only to find out he needs to be married so Brooke of course volunteers. Oh let the drama, twist, turns and betrayals begin!!! I must say I loved her friend Tucker and how he was there for her. Now her father ugh I wanted to throttle him more than once.
I throughly enjoyed this story and can't wait to see what else happened in this small town of Salvation,Nebraska.
Don't miss out on the other stories from this town.

Oh goodness, where do I begin.

I received an ARC of this title and it did not disappoint!

I’m a huge fan of age gap! I love the way they strive to find a way to be together no matter what others think.

Maurice was newly 17 years older than Brooke so you can image why he was not keen on the idea of them. Whenever they were together, he would find ways to to destroy what they had and tear himself up in the process. Brooke could care less what the next person had to say about the way she felt. She’s harbored her feelings long enough. She was all grown up, a full fledged woman and nothing could stop her from getting what she wants except the man of her dreams!

Now if you throw in a very overprotective parent who would stop at nothing to protect his cub and you have yourself a recipe for disaster and an opportunity for everything to fall apart before it all really began.

This book is filled with lies, secrets, and betrayal. This is the first book I have read by Ajme and now I’m a total fan. I can wait to read the next installment in the series! I give this book a ten out of 10 stars!

This is an emotional rollercoaster ride with some unexpected twists and turns, it's Mo and Brooke's story and I think it's the best one yet in this wonderful series. Brooke may be young be she knows what she wants and that's Mo, she's loved him since she was a teenager. Mo is her father's best friend so even though he's always been drawn to Brooke, because of the 20 year age difference, he's tried to ignore his attraction to her until he can't but then he regrets what he sees as a weakness.

After four years away at college, Brooke returns home, her feelings for Mo have only deepened so when she sees a way to be with him she proposed that they enter a fake marriage which will enable him to get his hands on his inheritance. But if she has her way it won't be remaining "Fake" for long. As for Mo, he's not sure if it's the right thing to do especially taking into account her father's reaction.

The characters are well developed and the storyline flows well although I did get a little annoyed by her father's reaction - you can't help whom you fall in love with I enjoyed the story immensely and have no hesitation in recommending it, indeed the whole series.

Brooke is a young lady of 22, who has returned after college to her farm town in Nebraska. She is working in the office of the Mayor, Maurice, who is a friend of her father. She has been in love with Maurice since before she went to college, even though he is 40 years old. Due to a series of circumstances, she enters into a marriage with Maurice so that he can free up a trust which provides money to lend to her father, and bail her father out of some financial difficulties. Maurice doesn’t see this as a real marriage, but she is in love with him – and most of the book is taken with the problems they face. She is far more interested in a real relationship than he is, because he is hung up with worries about their age difference and his relationship with her father. There is too much angst in the relationship – it got tiring after a while because it was clear the two of them belonged together, but it was a long and difficult series of events to get there. I really liked Brooke as a character, but did not care for Maurice – he was too dense and insensitive. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Maurice has gone from being (in my head) the Le Fou character in Beauty and the Beast to being a real man! I'll say no more!!

This has to be the best book in the series, and I said that about Trina and Ryder! Ajme Williams has upped her game in all areas in this book. It is sexier, it has more pace, it has more guilt than a Catholic church confessional on a Wednesday afternoon during school holidays! It also brings together a few straggling stories from the previous books with is good.

As always the book is well written and edited. The two main characters have been met before but not in such detail and we therefore learn a lot more about them both. We have obviously met most of the others previously and love them all. The new comer could be interesting in his own book.

Absolutely nothing bad to say about this hot and heavy tear jerker; I totally recommend it and suggest that you immediately stick it in your basket now to read at your earliest convenience xx

I received This is the 3rd book in Ajme’s Fake Marriage series and it can be read as a stand alone although it helps to read the other books prior to this one since it will familiarize you with these characters a little. This book is Mo (Maurice) and Brooke’s story and it is such a good one. Mo is Brooke’s fathers’ best friend and she has had a thing for him since she was teenager. When Mo and his wife divorced, he spent lots of time at his best friend’s house and so Brooke’s feelings just kept growing for him. Things happened and Mo distanced himself from Brooke for the years she was away at college. What happens when she returns from college and starts her new job? Her father finds himself in a sticky situation and the next thing we know Brooke is in a fake marriage with Mo but she wants it to be real.
As always Ajme delivers a well written story with strong character who have lots of chemistry with obstacles to overcome. This series has been one good book after the other can’t wait for the next one

Can an accidental affair turn into love?
This is an interesting book with a few unexpected twists and turns. The storyline is solid and works well. The characters are truly enchanting and easy to follow. Even the not so enchanting ones end up owning a place in your heart.
Brooke had loved Mo for most of her life, starting when she was a teen. Mo and Brooke’s father are best friends. Mo always felt drawn to Brooke. With the difference in their ages, he ignores his attraction to her. Until he doesn’t.
Fast forward four years, Brooke comes back home after finishing college. Life starts changing rapidly for all the characters.
The author takes on a roller coaster of emotions asking the question, can an accidental affair turn into love? No spoilers from me. I will tell you the book is worth the read!

A not so accidental affair
4.5
Very good romance even if one might think that the story is a cliche between an older man and an innocent young girl, but the story is more complex, mixing a political and economic intrigue in a small town. Even if this theme remains in the background, it is the trigger for the arranged marriage of the two heroes, Brooke and Maurice.
The characters are good, although sometimes their inner conflicts are more melodramatic than the situation.
The story is very well written, warm and tender.
Brooke has long been in love with Maurice, her father’s friend. When Maurice has an opportunity to save the property of his best friend, Brooke immediately agrees to get closer to him, but for Maurice, to give in to Brooke is to betray his best friend, and he cannot face it despite his desires.

I really loved reading Accidental Affair by Ajme Williams because it was such a great book. This particular book is about Brooke and Maurice (Mo). Brooke and Mo know each other because Mo is Brooke's dad's best friend. Brooke has been in love with Mo since high school. Mo and Brooke have to get fake married to save her dad's farm from Simon Stark. Their relationship is so complicated. Brooke definitely has feelings for Mo. Mo doesn't want to have feelings for his best friend's daughter. But love has a sneaky way of working it's magic. I loved reading this book because it was so romantic and so steamy between Brooke and Mo. I highly recommend reading this book.

This story was incredible from the start. Once I began reading it there was no going back. Brooke and Mo are two amazing characters. Brooke had feelings for Mo but didn't know how to show him. When Mo needed to be married to access his trust money Brooke knew that was her chance. Mo knew that he couldn't touch Brooke, but every day it was getting tougher to stay away. The moment that Mo gave in fireworks went off all over the place. Brooke couldn't believe that Mo was fighting his desire for her, all she wanted was to be with him completely. When both Mo and Brooke told the other how they felt there was an explosion of color. This story was so amazing that you won't be able to stop reading. Brooke has always had a crush on her dad's best friend Mo. One Christmas she gets a little taste of how good he can be and she can't forget it or him.
Mo can't believe he did that to his best friend's daughter. But he also can't forget it.
Fast forward four years Mo is the mayor, Brooke is back home looking for a job and her father may loose the family farm.
Together they come up with a plan to save the farm . It's a fake marriage but for Brooke she wishes it was real.
As Mo and Brooke try to navigate their marriage miscommunication is the name of the game.
I did think it was funny that Brooke wanted to be seen as an adult but she allowed herself to be treated like a child by her dad.
There is a HEA but it diesakeva little doing.
I'm hoping for a Tucker book.

Oh I just love this Accidental series. Now it’s the turn if Maurice (Mo) and Brooke. What an emotional story. Does age matter in a relationship...in some cases no. Depends on the couple.
Brooke has always had a crush on her dad Frank’s best friend and Mayor Maurice Valentine. Problem is, they both still think of her as being a young girl. Well she is in some ways but now is the time to change things. Mo is a very loyal, hard working man and wants to do the right thing. Helping Frank keep his property he has to be married. Who would have thought Brooke would say “I will marry you”. Now the fun begins. A brilliant story of young love to an older man but with more experience, Mo can show her a forever love 💖

Maurice and Brooke rocks this story with all the drama from the Mayoral Office to the farm fields. When her father runs into financial trouble, Maurice has a plan to take care of it. It involves getting married and staying that way for a year. When Brook volunteers for the job, Maurice is conflicted because his body knows what it's like to be around Brooke and he doesn't want to rock the boat or get on the bad side of his friend but when the marriage goes through, battle lines are drawn and Brooke is at the center. Will there be a peaceful solution that will come from all of this or will hearts become casualties of love? This story will have you on the sidelines for this battle!

Omg I absolutely am not going to give a lot away because wow I absolutely love a strong woman and goes after what she wants even though its her dads best friend, but when he regrets it and tries to keep his distance from Brooke but when a chemistry is so strong can they stsy away from each other or will the guilt tear them apart or will her dad want to do death harm to his best friend? This book was absolutely fantastic and I couldn't put it down and absolutely hookec on this series.

Their Fight For Family, Happiness And Loyalty:
By Korkoi -
The story highlighted Brooke’s determination to fight for Mo, for her right to be respected in the workplace and finally standing up to her father. Mo on the other hand went back and forth about what he wanted, but finally made a decision to be happy. This is another great story from Ajme. Her books grab your attention from the start and doesn’t let go until you finish, but still leaves you wanting more. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and found it quite enthralling and invigorating. It was well worth my time to read.

I really enjoy this author's stories because they come with their own unique twist. Brooke is heading home from college and her father, Frank gets her a job with his friend, Mo. Brooke has found herself to be more interested in Mo then is appropriate and things are about to become even more complicated. Mo needs to get married in order to get access to his trust fund and Brooke volunteers to be his fake wife. Worse or better yet, her father agrees. Should be a HEA, right.....nope there is so much more to this great story for these amazing characters. Enjoy!

This book was so similar yet so different from the rest of this series. I have to admit though that there’s this huge trend of fake marriage running through this small town. Anyway, I actually was impressed with the grit of the characters in this one. It’s definitely quite scandalous yet so tame at the same time. It was like a ‘finally’ type of moment. Special cheers to best friends! Either way, no matter how they acted (depending on who’s best friend you’re looking at here), they pushed the main characters to get real and find themselves.

I give 4 and a half stars

Oh, my God, I'm just saying: men!! They make life unnecessarily difficult for themselves and for us because of these imaginary 'bro-codes'. What do we poor women have to endure until we finally reach our goal, lol.
This back and forth you must absolutely give yourselves. The characters are adorable, the story is great and the writing style of the author is great.

So, go ahead, grab this book and let the story give you relaxed reading time.

The mayor and his best friend’s daughter

This is a fun series with the ever present evil man, Stark. This time Stark wants to take the farm...Frank’s farm...yep, the mayor’s best friend, Frank. The mayor has a solution...he can bet money from his trust fund to save the farm. The catch is that he has to be married for a year! Here comes another ‘fake’ marriage. This time Mayor Valentine marries Frank’s 22yo daughter! Lots of miscommunication and drama ensues...Brooke Valentine behaving like a teenager and allowing her father to take her phone when he discovers that she’s been sleeping with her husband. Oh, the angst! We eventually get an HEA.

yet another outstanding book in this series, when you think they cant get any better they do.

Mo was the mayor, we had seen him in previous books but this one tells the story of him and Brooke, his friends daughter and soon to be his fake wife.

Brooke had always had a thing for her dads friend, and when her dad was about to loose their ranch, the only way Mo could get the money to help was to be married, so Brooke volunteered hoping that she could change his feelings about her.

There is so much I want to write about this book but cant because of spoilers, you read to read it yourself to fully understand it and appreciate it, I loved it!

Another Salvation love story

Four years ago Brooke had a little something-something with her father’s best friend Mo. He practically ran away when he realized what he had done in his tipsy moment of passion. Brooke didn’t forget. Now she’s back in town after graduating college and still wants him. And he’s still avoiding her.

Rancher Maurice (Mo) is the mayor of their small town. It’s his las few months but he still wants to do what’s best for it and its citizens. When businessman Simon Stark tries, yet again, to wheedle himself into Salvation, the only way Mo can see to stop him is to collect on a trust he has. The only problem is he has to get married first. Guess who volunteers?
