"It's a weird feeling when someone sees the real you, isn't it?"
This is probably going to be a long one. I'd never read anything by Lasairiona McMaster before, but this was hockey romance and so I jumped right in. I have this weird feeling that is half 'I'm so happy they got their HEA' and 'I wanted to see more of them'.
Two for Interference is a story of two people who (quite wrongfully) believe they are out of each other's leagues, or how a phone number mix-up can lead to wonderful things.

"At half a foot shorter than him, she was all curves and sass. Nothing good could come from lusting after that ass. That ass was out of his league."
I adore Cleo. Cleo is so like me, and some of the stuff she says is stuff I said when I was in my twenties. She's a curvy girl, which makes her self-conscious. It makes her not like the wonderful person she is. It doesn't help that some people at college cannot see past her body either, and give her a hard time. So she hides it all under a big, confident wall and puts it up every day.
I'm so familiar with this it's hard for me to dwell on it too much.

"That lopsided, panty-melting grin of his could light up the national grid."
Lincoln really is something else. He's a jock, he's part of the hockey team, but he's not your average player - in every sense of the word. OK, he is all sorts of sexy, confident, and hot, but such a wonderful guy underneath it all. He's also a dirty talker, and probably one of the most understanding heroes I've read in a while. Open, and communicative.

"Mr. Darcy: Goodnight, dear Elizabeth. For what it's worth, I missed you today."
Here's the deal: they go to the same college. They definitely know each other, and they feel attracted to each other, but they're so different they think it would never work. So they gravitate around each other enough to drive each other crazy. Until one day he sends a message to the wrong number, and they end up bonding and getting to know each other over anonymous text messages. Over Pride and Prejudice, no less. So he becomes the Mr. Darcy to her Lizzie. And it's sort of spot on.

"You're killing me, Lizzy. Let. Me. Taste. You."
When they finally realize who they are in real life, they're in too deep, their connection is too strong. Let me tell you - the sex was seriously HOT. I totally forgot these two people were twenty-somethings, because... damn. And Lincoln? Don't even get me started on his skills.
Before you ask, yes, Cleo needs to deal with her body when it comes to getting physical with him, but Linc is there all the way. He doesn't give her the chance to retreat. He loves every inch of her, and that was perfect.

"You think that just because you don't love yourself, no one else can love you?"
Self-love permeates the book. It's not just about Cleo's body image, but also about what she wants to do with her life, and what Linc wants to do with his. About breaking from what's expected of them, and into finding out who they are in life.

I loved his hockey buddies. I loved Molly, Cleo's BFF. These secondary characters were special in their own way, and I really hope they all get the chance to get their HEA.

"I'm not here just for the fun times, Cleo." (...) "Break down if you need to break down. I'll be right here to help you pick yourself up."
Make no mistake, this book is not about finding, needing or wanting validation, or about needing or wanting a guy just to make you feel better about yourself.
It's about finding support. Finding love. Feeling wanted. Finding the person who'll be there for you no matter what, who will love you for who you are. Body and soul, whatever size, shape, form, and whatever comes.

Can't wait for book two!

Two for Interference is a nice, sweet, entertaining and steamy read.

Lincoln is a hockey player for the college team, he also dreams he could pursuit his art passion. Cleo is an amazing student, and she dreams to be a writer. They are both pressured by their parents to follow in their footsteps, they try to make them proud risking their own happiness. Fortunately fate put Cleo and Lincoln on each other path and their relationship help them to make some choices for their own future.

“Life is too short to live in the shadow of where you really want to be.”

I really liked how Cleo and Linc friendship starts through text messages and it organically develops in something more when they feel comfortable trusting each other. It was a pleasure to watch it unfold.
I pefectly understand how they are more relaxed in the anonymity of a texting communication, and they share their insecurities and their dreams.

I have to read next book in this series as soon as possible.

4.5 star Review Two For Interference (Snow Pirates #1) by Lasairiona McMaster

Lasairiona McMaster is a new author to me and although this is my first book it will not be my last. Ms. McMaster wove a story about Minnesota Snow Pirates player Lincoln Scott and the woman he falls for Cleo.

I really enjoyed Two For Interference and I was drawn into the story from the first chapter. When Cleo received a text from an unknown number and she responds, she has no idea that by replying she has changed her life forever. The anonymous relationship that develops between them was heart warming as they got to know one another.

I loved the premise of this story, Cleo is not your typical heroine and I for one loved that. She’s a studios, curvy woman and I loved how Lincoln supportive he was of her and the insecurities she has about her body. Cleo sees under the exterior he projects and sees a man who is so much more than a hockey player and encouraged his art.

I really liked both Lincoln and Chloe and it was entertaining to watch their relationship develop.

Looking forward to reading more in the series.

I was ready to write this review half way through the story. Instead, I found all McMaster's author pages and followed her. Cleo and Lincoln are fantastic characters and the heat between them emanates from the pages from their first interaction. I love a smart, strong, sassy heroine and an equally strong, smart hero who is not afraid of showing his softer side to his woman. Lincoln is almost too good to be true.

I can't say enough about McMaster's story telling. Love when an author can add details like how characters move around each other or provide background activity that really bring a story to life. This book is an exciting beginning to this hockey series with a number of intriguing, likable characters as well. There is laughter, excitement, a bit of angst and many sexy moments.

Very enjoyable

Well I’ve never read a sports romance before until now. (Not that I can remember) I usually like my romance a little more bully or paranormal, but this was so entertaining I could not help but be invested in Cleo and Lincoln.
Opposites attract so they say and these two were just that, but they just couldn’t help but gravitate towards each other in the best way . Both were down to earth and relatable with real life insecurities. When finding each other brings a confidence to face them it’s not as simple as you may think , as it really is hard sometimes to see yourself as others do and love yourself.
So get yourself a copy of this awesome Two for Interference and sit back and be thoroughly entertained.

“You make me feel like I have something more to offer than what my mom wants me to give.”

It’s no secret that I’m a sucker for a good hockey romance. So when the author reached out and asked if I would be wiling to review this book I jumped at the chance, and I’m so glad that I did.

Studious and driven student Cleo receives a text telling her that she left her bra at his place. The only problem is that she doesn’t know the number and that definitely isn’t her bra. So after she tells the mystery texter this she forgets all about it, that is until she’s walking home and feels like someone is following her. She decides to text this person to see if they would be willing to talk to her until she gets home. What ensues is conversation with a stranger that ends up continuing for weeks. So, what happens when a wrong number ends up turning into a mystery text relationship?

I absolutely love the premise of this book. I loved that Cleo and Lincoln had this text relationship without knowing who the other person actually was. It enabled them to open up to the other person in a way that I don’t know they would have been able to had they not started out the way they did, at least not as quickly as it happened. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for them to find out exactly who the other person was and when they did, and found out that it had been the person they had each been lusting after all along, I was cheering. Throw in the hockey aspect and the Pride and Prejudice references and I was absolutely here for this book.

While I loved the premise of the book I think I may love the characters even more. Cleo is hard working and driven to do well in school but, she has some insecurities about her body that I can relate to all too well. Society has set unrealistic expectations on women and it, along with bullying, can cause serious self confidence issues. Seeing Cleo fight with this, but also seeing Lincoln love everything about Cleo, and telling her all the time that she’s beautiful was such an incredible thing to read in a book. Speaking of Lincoln, his character shows that just because someone looks like they have it all and have everything together doesn’t mean that they actually do. There are hidden depths to Lincoln that I loved seeing, because it shows that just because someone is a jock doesn’t mean that they don’t also have artists soul. Cleo helped Lincoln become brave enough to show his art and finally talk to his dad about what he actually wanted out of his life. And Lincoln helped Cleo face and fight her insecurities and realize that she didn’t need to live her life according to her mother’s expectations.

This was the first book that I’ve read by McMaster but it definitely won’t be the last. And to say that I was beyond excited to find out that the next book is about Russ would be an understatement. I started wanting Russ’s book back in chapter 9 of this one and was ready to demand it, if his book wasn’t going to be next.

“I love all of you. The confident air you wear in public and the vulnerabilities you don’t let anyone see. I don’t care what your grades in school are, I don’t care what shape your body is, and I don’t care if you’re tone deaf and love singing crappy pop songs at the top of your lungs in the shower. (…) I’ll tell you every day for the rest of your freakin’ life until you hear me, Cleo. You’re beautiful, inside and out, and I love you.”

Two for interference is a hockey romance! I literally had never read a hockey romance before 2021, and this is my 3rd this year. And IT IS MY FAVORITE.

Cleo gets a text from a wrong number. She let's him know, and then moves on. But surprising even herself, she reaches out the following night. Cleo and this mystery man refer to each other as Miss Bennett and Mr. Darcy, and build a relationship.
Lincoln is a star hockey player, and top jock. What's he supposed to do when a wrong number starts to seem like the best thing that's happened it him?

Lincoln was the sweetest guy. He made ALL the right romance book moves. Going after her, taking time to understand her, loving her... it was GREAT. He was kind, thoughtful and caring. Cleo is fierce woman, and kind hearted. She has alot of self esteem issues, but is working on it. Both have tense relationships with their family, and passions they keep secret.

My favorite thing about this hockey romance is that it only said "Puck Bunny" once. I cannot stand books where the main character looks down on other woman. It's so frustrating. I loved that Cleo didn't judge other women for sleeping with hockey players.

I loved that Cleo is a curvy woman, and that even though she's proud of herself, she deals with realistic bullying and reactions to bullying.

Reading this book, I was like when Lincoln gets a text from Cleo, just smiling at my kindle, letting other be concerned for my mental well being.

I don't read sports romance. I don't read romance with low angst. I don't read romance that isn't dark and cruel.

But ... it seems I can't say that any more because Cleo and Lincoln are something else (or affectionately known as Clinc - because who doesn't love combined names?). Curvy girl meets jock. Insecurities, nerves, shyness - and that's not all as one-sided as you might think.

Lasairiona McMaster (look, I can spell her name) presents a story that is unapologetic in its realism. It brings you to a place where you feel what Cleo thinks about herself, whether you've experienced what she has lived through or not. You're rooting for Lincoln to break through her barriers and get his girl.

The banter, the charm, the sweetnesss of this couple is balanced by a solid story, with relationship problems and goals, as well as a believable supporting cast of characters (go Molly!).

I don't read sports romance, but this entire series has just become a one-click for me.

Go grab it.

*** 4.5 Stars ***

Two for Interference (Snow Pirates #1) by Lasairiona McMaster is a new adult, opposites-attract, sports romantic comedy told in third person, dual POV. It follows the relationship that develops between a college hockey player and a studious bookworm after a mistaken-identity situation brings them together via text message.

I loved Cleo and Linc! Their meet cute was hilarious, and the story delivered many laughs along the way. Cleo and Linc were relatable characters with realistic insecurities. Hers were related to body image, and his were rooted in identity. Crackling with chemistry and witty banter, this story was steamy and so much fun! It’s easily my favorite from this author so far. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 🌶🌶🌶

I was lucky enough to receive a copy of Two For Interference and as a lover of all things hockey/sports romance, I was so excited for this especially after all the great reviews it has on here!

Two For Interference is book one in the Snow Pirates series with book two releasing on November 18!

Cleo is a bookish, hardworking and driven college student. Spending all her free time studying, she doesn’t have much of a social life which has resulted in her not having many friends.
She wants nothing more than to graduate from college and make her parents proud.

One night she receives a text from an unknown number saying that she left her bra at his house.
She doesn’t know who sent the text but knows that’s definitely not her bra.
After a few texts back and forth, her and the unknown number settle that’s it’s not her bra, wrong number etc etc, goodbye.

Until the next night when she’s walking home she feels like someone is following her but doesn’t know who to call.
Instead, she texts the unknown number asking if he’s willing to text and keep her company until she arrives home safely.
Cleo and the unknown number get along so well, which ensues into texting everyday for weeks.

The unknown number is the one and only college hockey player and hot jock, Lincoln Scott.
Lincoln is perfect 😍
He’s sweet and romantic and not afraid to show his soft side but also had a very alpha male side which was nice 😏

He’s had a crush on Cleo since a little accident between the two, and Cleo is mortified at said accident and only drools over Lincoln from afar ever since.
Both of them believe they’re out of each other’s league!

This book was relatable and both characters had real life insecurities that we deal with everyday. Body image and positivity was a huge part of this book.

The bullying scenes were so palpable my heart hurt reading them, I felt as though I was right there.
The way Lincoln was constantly fought to break down Cleo’s barriers so that she could see herself as the beautiful woman he’d fallen for was the best!💗

The side characters were hilarious! I loved Molly!!! 🤣

"They were destined for each other. Their souls were tied together forever. There was nothing he was more certain of.

If you're looking for a hockey romance that will make you laugh and swoon Two for Interference is perfect for you!

This book follows Lincoln Scott, hockey player who's secretly the sweetest boy ever who has a passion for art and Cleo, the bookworm who dreams of being a writer. They are complete opposites but that's what makes them perfect for each other. Lincoln is given the wrong phone number and they begin texting but don't know their real identities. They call each other Mr. Darcy and Lizzy (the pride and prejudice refences are EVERYTHING). They can't stop texting and they begin to be fall for each other. When their identities are revealed they fall even harder but will the pressure of their lives break them apart?

Lincoln Scott is the sweetest book boy EVER. He treats her so well and has so much respect for her and truly loves her. Cleo is a curvy girl and has always struggled with loving herself and Lincoln was the one to help her through that and see how truly beautiful she was inside and out, it was so beautiful to read.

I definitely recommend this book and I am so excited to read the rest of the series!!

Cleo is a bookish student, who has felt insecure about her curves. When she gets a text from a wrong number she responds to let him know but she didn't plan on it going further than that one text. However soon they begin getting to know each other. It feels safe, and comfortable.

Lincoln is the easy going hockey star with straight A's, but he also feels pressure from his NHL father to follow in his footsteps. So texting with the stranger let him be the real him.

When Lincoln and Cleo clash in real life they doubt their connections. Lincoln is conflicted with the woman he is texting with to the spitfire in his English class. When secrets comes out he wonders if he can have the best of both worlds.

While their road isn't easy, the both have family pressure to contend with, and not everyone is happy they found a connection. From an idiot team member who makes numerous comments on Cleo's looks. Also Linc has an ex fling that doesn't handle not being a repeat and is willing to try to get between them.

I loved their cute text exchanges, the Mr. Darcy and Lizzy nicknames and their journey together. Cleo's best friend and roommate Molly provides plenty of comedic moments and can't wait for her story in Book three.

My only criticism is that some of the guys were almost too in touch with their emotions that it didn't fit with my experience of college aged guys. While introspective they seemed way more mature for their ages. Even so I can't wait for the next book in the series.

I received an arc copy for review, all opinions are my own and given freely.

My first book by this author and it sure won't be the last!

4,5 stars

I loved, freaking loved this book.
From the the unconventional meet cute, to the main characters, to their friends, to their insecurities and growth, I loved it all.
Linc and Lizzie seemed so different in paper, but they had so much in common. I loved their dichotomy, not only between each other, but also whitin themselves.

Linc was the sexy, unachievable jock. Cleo was the curvy, bookish nerd. But they were so much more than that. She was driven, he was sensitive. She was focused, he was artistic. They presented themselves confidently to the world, whereas they struggled with their insecurities and to reveal their true selves.

I loved that Linc was insecure about some things. When we read sports romance, the heroes are normally so full of themselves, always cocky and even arrogant. So it was refreshing to read an athletic hero that had insecurities and was fighting to walk his own path and follow his own, unconventional passion. Besides, he was so sweet and romantic, it was impossible not to love him
I also enjoyed reading about Cleo's struggles, from her issues about her body to her battle to be free from her parents' pression. It was relatable, even when it was frustrating. And it probably was frustrating because it was so relatable.

They were so adorable together. They were good for each other and it showed. They cared deeply, albeit warily, they felt intensily and they just clicked.
I loved their story and I can't wait to read more about them and their friends.

It’s a fact: I like hockey romance. I’m glad I picked up Two for Interference, Lasairiona McMaster’s first book in her new hockey series. It’s a fun, enjoyable read, and available in Kindle Unlimited.

Cleo doesn’t party or play much in college, since she’s working hard to keep her grades up and please her family. She’s also self-conscious about her curves, and is uncomfortable in a lot of social situations. When she gets a text from a wrong number, she ignores is…until she is walking across campus alone and needs a friend on the other end of the message.

That friend is hockey player Linc. The two begin an anonymous text friendship and, after lots of Pride and Prejudice references, end up confiding in each other. In the meantime, Linc is attracted to Cleo and her curves and is confused by his growing feelings for “both” women. Once their identities are revealed, their meet cute evolves into a relationship.

Linc and Cleo are cute together. Cleo has a tough time with her family and her self esteem, and Linc does his best to build her up. Linc also reveals his hidden artistic talents to Cleo, and she supports him showing his art to the world. It’s great watching them bring out the best in each other.

The series follows the fictional Minnesota Ice Pirates college hockey team. The guys are all hot and charming, and it looks like they’ll each be getting their own books soon. Lasairiona McMaster is a new to me author, and I’ll definitely read more of her work.

A hockey romance set in MN and even better yet, set at the U of M! Yes please!!

This book took my by surprise in all the right ways. This is a new to me author and when she reached out about reading her hockey romance series, I was totally game. I adore hockey romances, and there is just something about reading books set in my home state.

I really enjoyed the story. It was entertaining, low angst, decently steamy, and a lot of fun. The body positivity element was 😍.

Hello Clinc (Cleo & Linc)! I loved the MC's in this story and how they came to be.📱 Cleo was not the typical curve-rocking heroine. I appreciated that while she was proud of herself, she openly struggled with body issues, and was written as a self-conscious, insecure heroine. She was real, relatable and so loveable. Linc was perfection. Romantic, sensitive, and sweet. He was so much more than just hot jock. He a unexpected depth to him that made it impossible not to swoon. It was so fun to watch them grow as characters and support each other through their struggles.

The supporting cast added so much and I can't wait dive deeper into the other players. Next up is Russ's story in Two For Holding.

Looking for a quick, spicy, opposites-attract NA hockey romance? Check out Two For Interference.

OMG these Snow Pirate hockey men have my entire heart. I haven't exactly read these in order and got a glimpse of Cleo and Linc in book three, but wow I'm obsessed with these two. Cleo is a bad ass curvy sass queen and I can complete relate to her insecurities. I think the way Cleo was learning to love herself was so so important and it's so nice for readers to see a plus-sized heroine. Linc did so many amazing things and had so many wonderful qualities. I liked that he was able to stand up for himself and go after his own dreams and desires. The book references, nods to pop culture and overall sweetness of this book were everything to me. Also the spice was top notch as I completely expected from Lasairiona. I loved this book so much and I would fully love a man like Lincoln in my life.

I am such a fan of an anonymous text plot and this one did not disappoint.
The first half of the book was perfection but I think because they got together so early on, my interest started to decrease in the second half. I didn’t love their relationship conflict in the second half. I understand that she was treated terribly about her size and was very insecure but I didn’t love that the same conflicts were recycled and always resulted in a lack of communication that caused a breakdown in their relationship.
I LOVE Linc with my whole heart and really enjoyed his individual development throughout the plot.
I am BEYOND excited for more content from his teammates, especially Russ & Will 😍

this was my first read by Lasairiona & I can honestly say I won't be my last. I was missing some hockey romance in my life... even though I've read over 30 hockey romance books... oops.

Cleo & Lincoln are our two main characters.
They've known each other for a little while, since they attend the same college.

Cleo is a curvy girl, which makes her feel self-conscious most of the time because sometimes people can just be so cruel and say thing about her appearance. Yet she puts up a wall & acts like the confident queen she should always be when in public.

"𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒅, 𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒚-𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒖𝒑 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒅."
Lincoln is a jock, a college hockey player, living in his ex-pro hockey father's light.
He isn't your average hockey man, he isn't a player, he's not known for his sleeping around and breaking girls hearts. He is all kinds of sexy, confident and HOT.
He's also a really good dirty talker.
He's a very understanding Hero, it's not often you see that written so well for a hockey player.
~
So here's the kicker, Cleo & Lincoln have so sweet clue that they are texting each other.
They've always been attracted to one another, but they're so different they don't think it could ever work out.
Lincoln has a one night stand one night & the girl gave him a wrong number to text the next day. She left her bra at his place so he text her the next day to let her know & see if she wants it, because he's aware of how expensive they can be.

Cleo is the one that receives the text message, letting him know it's the wrong number.
They end up bonding over text, getting to know each other & falling for one another.

Without knowing who each other really are. anonymous texting, harmless right?
Pride & Prejudice is one of the things they bond over.
instantly causing them to name one another 'Mr. Darcy' & 'Elizabeth Bennet'

It takes them realize they are at the same party, to realize who they truly are in real life.

𝑬𝒍𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒉: 𝑰'𝒅 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒎𝒆, 𝑴𝒓. 𝑫𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒚.
𝑴𝒓. 𝑫𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒚: 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒚 𝒍𝒂𝒅𝒚 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒔, 𝒎𝒚 𝒍𝒂𝒅𝒚 𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒔.

Cleo has a lot of work to do on herself when it comes to her body.
Lincoln makes it easier because he never misses a chance to let her know how much he loves every inch of her. Physically & mentally.

This book was so friggen good.
It's not about needing or wanting validation for the opposite sex. It's about feeling wanted and finding love.
finding someone who knows about you, all of you & still enjoying your company.
Someone he isn't embarrassed to be seen with you in public because you're not societies standards of beautiful.

Lincoln Scott, You sir, are my new book boyfriend & I'm obsessed.

One of the best books that I've read this year! Five stars! I would love to give it more but it's only out of five. Spoilers ahead!

This story follows Cleo Martinez - a book worm with a stationary obsession and a severe dedication to her school. Cleo is a curvy Latina who is insecure about her body. She doesn't believe that anyone can love her while she's the size she is. One morning, she receives a text from an unknown number. Deciding to engage the unknown number, she finds a romance starting with this mysterious person. Cleo also has a crush on the athletic jock - Lincoln Scott. She had a crush since her dropped her vibrator on his feet.
The story also follows Lincoln Scott- a star hockey player for the university's team - the Snow Pirates. Turns out that Lincoln is the unknown phone number. Lincoln begins a romance with the unknown number. Lincoln also has a crush on Cleo Martinez. Lincoln has to choose between Cleo and the mystery girl.
At a school party, Lincoln texts the unknown number and finds Cleo with her cellphone out, responding to his texts. He wraps his arms around her and their relationship begins! Cleo continues to be insecure during the relationship and Lincoln wants to prove to her that she is beautiful.

This was my first hockey romance that I've read and I was completely blown away! Hockey is a huge part of my life (been going to junior hockey games with my father for 29 years). I related to Cleo on such a deep level that I sometimes felt that I was reading a story about myself. I'm a curvy girl, a bookworm, stationary fanatic, and dedicated to school. I am seriously insecure about my body and question my relationship all the time. The only difference is that I'm not Latina. It was incredible to read a story where I connected with the main character. I felt a pull because my own boyfriend is athletic and "out of my league" as people would say but everyday he is like Lincoln and makes me feel beautiful. The story itself was captivating, beautiful and had a great pace. I expected to read this book in 3-4 weeks and powered through it in 5 days. The writing was engaging and well written. After reading the book, I want to read all the books that Lasairiona has written. They all went straight onto my TBR. I'm eager to read Two for Holding.

This book had me all in my feels! You have Cleo who is your studious female in college. She does, at times, feel she doesn’t know her worth due to be a bigger girl. Due to her parents constant words, she needs to be the best academically to make sure she succeeds once she graduates. Then you have hottie hockey stud, Lincoln. Although he is solid on the ice his passion lies elsewhere within his arts but due to a father who is living through him, is pushing Lincoln to continue with hockey to make it to the NHL

After a hookup he ends up texting who believes to be Melissa, the hookup, as this is the number she gave him, to inform her she left her bra. However, on the end is not Melissa but Cleo. They never disclose their real names but end up building a friendship via text. They share things with one another that they haven’t even shared with close friends and family. This goes on for a while and to the point where they let each other know they have feelings for each other beyond friendship. Eventually, the universe has a plan for them and they are both same place same time and meet.

I truly enjoyed this book. It was a College Sport Romance:Hockey. Since they lmeet via text, at first, the text exchanges are cute, flirty and fun. When they eventually meet in person you get the steam 😏. I loved how this relationship developed via texting as much is in the world today. This was book 1 of The Snow Pirates Series and I cannot wait for more !!!

Cleo and Lincoln will have you squealing all the squishy girly squeals. Hearts will appear and swoons will take place.

Cleo is a multifaceted woman. She has the confidence, vulnerability, and strength. She grew and made Lincoln grow too. Her personality was one you could see in a real life friend. I could relate to her as well as empathize with her.

Lincoln was a surprise. He had many layers and each one you pulled back revealed something beautiful and raw. He sets the bar high for a male main character.

Molly totally stole the show. I hope she gets her story. She was the hilarity we needed.

Overall I wanted to ship this story and give it a 5 or even 10 but some plots that weren’t resolved kept me feeling like I missed some major pivotal moments with Cleo.
What happened with her family? She never called her mom back, and then the big “pot calling kettle out” fight didn’t resolve. She didn’t do anything from that epiphany. I was hoping for anything in that respect. What was her biggest burden just seemed to vanish. Did she talk with her mom? We’re there any resolutions there?
I would have also appreciated hearing about Lincoln meeting her family and that bridge beginning to be crossed.

Aside from that gap for me as a reader, the rest of the story moved at a pace I enjoyed. Their story is a really good one and I definitely can’t wait to see what happens in the next one.

Cleo. She’s gorgeous, intelligent - and completely out of his league. Lincoln has always harbored a secret crush on Cleo, but he knows he has no chance. He might be a star hockey player at his college, but because of this, nobody has ever bothered to get to know the real him.

One day, when Lincoln attempts to return a misplaced bra after a one night hookup, he realizes that he has the wrong number. Yet for some unfathomable reason, he can’t stop texting the sweet and sassy girl on the other end of his phone. But if his mystery girl ever learns his true identity… will she still see him in the same light?

Wow!!! This was my first book by Laisariona E McMaster, and I was pleasantly surprised!!! I always love a good hockey romance, and this one was an absolute joy to read. It had just the right amount of humor, witty banter, and angst. Cleo and Lincoln seemed real to me, their problems weren’t overly dramatic or far fetched. I loved their chemistry and their interactions.

Cleo. As a curvy girl myself, I can completely relate to Cleo’s insecurity in the way she looks as well as her intelligence. But I loved the fact that Lincoln not only accepted but embraced these things about her. Lincoln. Nobody wants to see past the amazing hockey player, but there’s so much more to Lincoln than that!!! He’s smart, sweet, and sensitive, and I admire him for it.

I completely recommend!!!

This is my first time reading a work by Ms.McMaster and I will definitely be reading more by her!

#Clinc...I am already in love with another fictional man, one who plays hockey and quotes Pride and Prejudice. Ugh *swoon*. Secretly hoping for a meet/cute like Cleo and Linc's to happen to me IRL! I found their texting and inside jokes so cute and I laughed out loud a couple of times!!!

I really liked how relatable the characters were. They all have some type of real world pressure or insecurities, they weren't perfect. I did not love the nerd vs jock tension that everyone seemed to just accept. But that could just be because I was a nerd and a jock in high school (you can be both)! That said, this is probably the first FMC with self-image and insecurities that I have read and could find believable and not glorified/made up. Cleo was so well written and "real" to me that I fell for her. I wanted to be her friend and was rooting for her. Her bravery in the face of bullying made me want to jump into the book and give her a high five...also to smack that boy upside the head!

Also, can we talk about the side characters? They were intertwined into this story so well that I definitely want to read alllll their stories! I am so excited to see how this series plays out!

Having read her Jeremy series prior, Two For Interference is quite the surprise. A good surprise, though! It features both Lincoln and Cleo's point of views in the same story, and their intimate times were steamier and more explicit than Jeremy's series were.

Lincoln and Cleo's banter in real life and through text gives off a Sam/Austin vibe from Hilary Duff's A Cinderella Story. It's endearing, it's funny and it's cute. Not to mention, a beloved character also made a cameo appearance! And you've gotta love Molly!

I can identify and relate to Cleo on so many levels. The need to always come top of the class, strict parents who want the best for you but can be really suffocating at times, and the inability to love yourself despite being told time and again you're beautiful, talented. I love how Cleo didn't overcome her insecurities overnight, at the snap of a finger and how she has her judgements and bought into the jock stereotype. She's perfectly imperfect.

The only gripe I have with it is having read their teaser story, I was disappointed to know their pink vibrator meet-cute scene never made it into the real story! Even if not chronologically, I thought including it in a flashback scene would be that much better, rather than just merely mentioned in the story.

What a wonderful unexpected surprise this story was. In my shame I didn’t have this author on my reading radar at all and I am kicking myself!! Thank you Ms McMaster for nudging me in the direction of Lincoln and Cleo.

This is a college hockey romance but also so much more than that.
I loved the premise from the beginning…Cleo received a text from an unknown number and starts a beautifully honest friendship with her ‘Mr Darcy’. As she slowly reveals her insecurities and deepest feelings to this wonderfully insightful man she feels uplifted and seen.
But as we get to know both main characters in this story we find that everyone has insecurities and fears, we all harbour some kind of unease or fear of what others think of us or expect from us….. even the most put together and outwardly confident may be hiding something deep seated and difficult.

The journey this pair take is both heartbreaking and beautiful in equal measure…..I would have liked to know how Cleo faced her demons and a bit more of their future, but that is minor and may come with the next books….

A lesson to be learned and a wonderful couple with amazing friends to share it….I’m totally here for the rest of this series!

I'm giving it 4,5/5 stars

Lincoln is one of the sweetest hockey guys I have seen in a while. Molly is also one of the best side characters with great sense of humour and I'm dying to read her story with hints that it will be connected with her brother's best friend Finn. Russ and Jude...and their story with Sabrina is also one of my favorite hinted storylines in the book but my absolute favorite guys are the Cap Will and Austin who is dragged in the whole mess of the book. Mia is fabulous and I really crave to learn what her story is. And the last person I want to talk about is definitely the most important one - our heroine Cleo. She is stunning, smart and absolutely adorable when she doesn't know what to say or do, and is embarressed. Cleo can't be my favorite MC, but nobody can be flawless {excluding our Cap Will ;)}. I will dive into the next books in the series immediately.

Tiny Spoiler Alert!
Talking to each other being the characters of Pride and Prejudice made me wanting to reread the book and reminded me why it is one of the OG romance books. Their pet names for each other...
And the proposal....The book signing....I already love Russ's Mom Natalie!
