This series is so much fun! It's light and carefree--and I just love the key characters. Eloise and Matthew had a murder mystery weekend scheduled for the inn and were a little worried the previous murders would keep people away, but the opposite definitely happened. And of course, another real murder. The fake one was hilarious though! It was cool how they'd involved the entire town to participate by being part of the clues.
I had an idea all along who the perp might be, but I was off by just a little. There was a twist I hadn't seen coming which explained so much. I loved the sisters' characters, Carol and Stacey. They were just the nicest people and made a good addition to the sleuthing team. The ending held a couple of fun surprises, and now I'm really anxious to read the next book! (No worries, no cliffhhanger!)
This was another great book in this series. Seeing more character development in the primary characters. The new characters, the guests at the Inn for the weekend, were interesting but had minimal depth. Two guests showed Eloise a new slant for her business marketing which I assume we will see more of in future books.

Can Eloise and Matthew find a way to salvage the weekend and catch a killer?
I love this series!!!! Eloise's murder mystery weekend started out great, until Leonard the repair man brought his nephew Henry to stay the weekend instead of having him at his house. Strange WHY? As the guests get their assignments for the clues to go on the murder board at the end of the evening. They ended up having to solve a real crime. Who would want to hurt that business man? The group goes back to the Inn to regroup and figure to ask the people in town what they can tell them. One of the guests disappeared, and another guest has been suspicious from day one they arrived. Eloise and Matthew has bad vibes from them. Now get this book and find out!!!! You won't be disappointed!!!!!
It's hard to beat small town life when it has all the elements that make it right. Quirky characters that have known each other forever, specialty shops that are supported by townspeople as well as tourists, and everyone in each other's business but in the most well meaning way. This is a great series and this book is a well written addition.
Eloise and Matthew have planned the perfect murder mystery weekend. They've gotten the whole town involved and everything is off to a good start. When a real murder victim is discovered everyone bands together to solve the crime.
I'm so sorry I came so late in the game to Thea Cambert's writing and sorrier still to see there are only 8 books in this series. I guess I'll have to try some of her others as well.
I really like this series because I live in Vermont and as I absolutely adore my home state, it's fun to read one set here and Thea does a wonderful job. It takes me about an hour to read one, so they're more like a novella, but it doesn't matter. Her characters are likeable, the setting is wonderful and I just wish there were going to be more than just 8!
Its autumn at the inn and Eloise and Matthew are trying to drum up business at the inn. They decided to offer a murder mystery weekend which has them quickly filled.
Soon the planned murder mystery takes a turn when a real dead body is found. Will they be salvage the weekend and find the real killer or will things get more deadly?
A fun filled cozy mystery that will keep you guessing.
This is the third book of the series that I have read. While I really liked the first two, I loved this one. I like the writing style which is clear, well paced, and humorous at times. I love the Vermont setting, the quirky characters, and for this one, I loved the time of year being fall. Looking forward to continuing to read this series.
Another enjoyable read from Thea Cambert. It was an interesting mystery and great catch up with Eloise, Matthew, and the rest. I’ve appreciated the development of the relationship between Eloise and Matthew as well as seeing growth and maturity in Eloise personally. Loved it!
I would recommend this author & series to anyone who is looking for a great cozy mystery. This is light, fun, & well written. I look forward to reading more.
A real murder takes place at an Inn in Vermont. During a murder mystery weekend sponsored by the inn. There are several different people who are suspects. The overall mystery is fun to read along and figure out with the main characters.
This is a sweet mystery for a cozy night. It’s clean, good values, and a little bit of excitement. A simple read if you want uncomplicated. I am now looking forward to reading the first two books of the series.
This one was a little slower than most of her books. Was halfway through before someone was found murdered. It had a nice wrapping up though and a surprise at the end.
This book is a quick, fun read in a completely enjoyable series. The author gives us a great setting, likable characters and a fun storyline to get involved with.
This was sure intriguing when a real murder takes place during a murder mystery weekend. I had am inkling as to who the killer was but just didn't figure out the motive.
I'm so glad to have started this series. Each book just gets better and better. I can't wait to see what adventure our cast of characters find themselves in next.
