What a beautiful, emotional collection! This one gave me chills with the memories and visuals and feelings it evoked. It was a super fast read, I read this in like an hour but maybe because I didn’t want to put it down.

It was a pretty remarkable read. The heartbreak and grief in these words was felt like a living being. The memories Morgan shared with us on these poems made me feel nostalgic and yearning. I wanted to visit those places and experience those moments too. Overall this was a really amazing collection and with that gorgeous cover, I’m gonna need to add this one to my physical collection.

Honestly, I don’t read a lot of poetry, but I loved that Morgan Liphart’s poems are about nature, life and come straight from her heart.

These words take you on a mountain climb, the wings of a bird, and speak to Grief.

One of my favorites is “Smooth” where in just 11 lines, Liphhart captures how life beats away at us like violent storms, and we are left like a smooth stone.

Barefoot and Running is a short but graceful collection of poetry. Thank you to @mliphart for this digital copy.

Personal and moving, readers can feel the raw emotions at play behind each poem. Expressing emotions we all face throughout our journey Barefoot and Running is relatable and inspires reflection.

“With all your shattered pieces
Soldered together,
I’ve never seen anything so beautiful.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 star with a G rating and a strong recommendation for lovers of poetry or those moving through an emotional time.

The poetry book, Barefoot and Running, was an inspirational poetry book. It was about heartache, healing, and forgiveness. Through life, we go through heartbreaking journeys that is hard for us to deal with, but at the time we do not want to attempt that these journeys helps learn and grow. That is the most beautiful part of a leaving something that preventing us from growing. We all are flowers that need sunlight and water to heal.
Maybe there is no such thing as forgiveness,
Maybe all we have is journey

My two favorite poems were “Part II: Arriving” and “A letter tucked between the cushions of a coffee shop couch”. Poems that will make me stop, think and reflect are my absolute favorite. I want to see what the author is trying to tell me through the poem. This is what Morgan did. If you love strong, emotional poems about healing, then I highly recommend reading her book. 5 stars.
ready for a generous forgetting,

This was a short but well written poetry book.

I love the organization. That's something I look at when reading poetry. I love it when they're sectioned or have a good flow from poem to poem. It makes a big difference when reading..

Personally...

There were a few stand outs such as "Reverse," "For my best friend, in an undead language," "Barefoot and Running," and then "A letter tucked between the cusions of a coffee shop couch."

Most were good. There were some lines that I really loved about the few poems that didn't quite hit on the head for me.

There were only a couple of flops through the entire thing really. I have a hard time with certain line ups in poetry. The Starling one is shaped like a bird, and thought creative, threw me off.

Overall --

4/5 for the writing, flow, and feeling given.

Thank you to the author, Morgan Liphart, for gifting me a review copy of Barefoot and Running. I decided I needed a physical copy for myself because I enjoyed it so much.

Colorado is in my blood too. I wasn't born there but it calls out to me like a home I didn't realize I was yearning for. The author's poem titled Part II: Arriving spoke to me immediately and I felt seen and understood.

I felt craving, desire, nostalgia, and also a sense of peace throughout these poems, and each one of them moved me in a different way. Each word is crafted so carefully and paints such a vivid picture you’ll be able to see yourself there, and feel those same feelings.

If you enjoy poetry, I highly recommend you grab a copy of this sweet collection.

A Beautiful collection of vulnerability and heart. I couldn't put it down and read the whole thing in one go. I found myself annotating almost every poem and folding down corners to remind me of the places I wanted to come back to. I feel like every woman can find a piece to relate to in here! Support indie authors, you won't be dissapointed by this poetry-I promise.

Liphart's debut chapbook is a powerful emotional journey both personal and connecting, slight and impacting. Poetry at its best paints pictures from words that the reader completes. Looking forward to more from this new writer.
