Colonel Fitzwilliam's revelation about Mr. Darcy's interference does NOT send Elizabeth Bennet into a fit of headache and bad feelings. In fact, it offers some relief, because it explains EVERYTHING. It makes everything perfectly clear and tells her exactly how to act.
Rating: clean: Angst level: moderate: 27-chapters plus an epilogue: Complete: WadeH is a creative and prolific author known for writing outside the box… way outside the box. Our story opened with Elizabeth and our dear Colonel walking and talking at Kent. Oh, dear, you know the scene. Elizabeth, with her new knowledge on the dealings of Mr. Darcy, changed her life course and that of her beloved sister. She quickly arranged her return to London so she could be with Jane. Her aunt and uncle, of course, wanted an explanation as to why she was returning early. That went over well.
Elizabeth made the Colonel promise that he would wait until she was out of the county before he had a serious talk with Darcy. Everything changed after that point. The OOC [out-of-character] behavior was at times hilarious, shocking, and several times I wanted to yell… it was about time. The pairings were a bit different than canon but I approved. Lady Catherine proved to be a surprise.
Wickham was presented with the four elements… they were creative and I've never seen them used before. Bingley was called out on his behavior and his sisters had to deal with everyone. Oh, dear, that was an encounter they will never forget. Anne de Bourgh was able to make her sentiments known. Way to go, Anne! Lydia and Kitty met Lady Catherine and learned their fate. Oh, my. Not to be outdone, Lady Catherine also took on M/M Bennet. Yeah, to her ladyship. Read this if you have the time. Wade first posted this on 3-1-21 and ended it on 4-17-21.
