I always felt different.
Like I never quite fit.
The moment I found the club, it felt like home, even though it was 1600 miles from Jersey.

As the joint SAA for the Houston Defiance MC, my job is to be protective. Keep my brothers at the club safe—be the first line of defense against those who seek to do us harm.

But what happens when those who defend suddenly need protection?
She upholds the law—the club lives by their own.
Never a good mix.

The pull to her is volcanic, seismic, earthshattering.
But there’s darkness surrounding her.
An evil lurking in the shadows.

With an already high enemy count, more mount up every day.
But maybe we can’t see the danger rumbling just below the surface.
When it erupts, all hope might be lost.
When all else fails, will Defiance rise through the ash?

Finley was the club lawyer but when one of the bad guys that she put in comes after her she turns to the club for help. Texas feels a pull to Finley that is hard to resist. He has to protect her but can't resist their explosive chemistry anymore.

I am just going to go ahead and admit I absolutely hated Fin. She was so self centered and stupid that she put other's at risk because she wouldn't list. Prinie is another one that is dumb as a rock. I won't get into specifics but I loved the other members of the club especially Texas.

Fin belittled him and the club and thought she was better than them because she was an attorney. That being said as much as she disgusted me I really love the story.

The club faces tons of drama in this one and I couldn't put it down. As usual K.E. Osborn wrote a great book.

My Rating: 4 stars!

**ARC was generously provided in exchange for my honest review.**

Osborn has created another couple in the Houston Defiance MC who sizzles with chemistry. Their romance was angsty with a whole lot of slow-burn build-up that I was instantly anxious to see play out!

This is the fifth book in the series and I am just as hooked in the Houston Defiance MC as I was when I read the first book. Texas’ and Fin’s relationship was a gradual build-up long before their story was told in Protective.

It’s a sweet, somewhat of a friends-to-lovers story with Texas surprisingly being the biggest sweetheart from all the guys from the MC. I loved that he had the image of an all out brawny alpha, yet had the biggest heart. 😍 It was refreshing to see an alpha type hero who wasn’t pushy. And Fin stayed true to how she’s been portrayed in the previous books—determined, independent, with a fierce attitude!

The first half of the book was well-paced as Texas’ and Fin’s budding relationship gradually heated up, but the story quickly takes on a faster pace in the second half as situations start to amp up around them. Whilst I felt like there was an organic progression in Texas’ and Fin’s relationship, there was an overload of events that transpired in the book that, in my opinion, made the overall story busy. A lot of things happen in this book, some of which flowed naturally with the current situation that Texas, Fin and the MC found themselves in, but others just seemed like they came out of nowhere.

The first half of the book totally hooked me in and I was loving the little banters and moments between Texas and Fin. But putting aside their romance, I felt like the storyline split into different directions along the way leaving the second half of the book underwhelming. Situation after situation popped up only for it to be just as quickly resolved that I was having difficulty connecting with all. It lost the flow along with some of the swooniness from Texas’ and Fin’s relationship as it felt like they were put on the back burner whilst the MC dealt with said issues.

This story however, broaches on one particular topic, that in all honestly I never realized existed, and I admire Osborn for putting some light to a matter that may not have been familiar to other readers either. The characters in this series all have their demons, tragic pasts, and issues they deal with on the daily. With Texas, you see the struggles he’s been dealing with for most of his life and how it affects him as a person.

What I like about Texas and Fin as a couple, is there’s a sweet balance in their dynamic. They’re complete opposites, yet they connected with each other effortlessly and it didn’t come off stilted. The support, love, care, and admiration they have for one another is evident, long before anything romantic happened. So when the time came when they decided to take a chance on their relationship, it was believable.

Besides the romance in the forefront, like the previous books in this series, the addition of the secondary characters heightened the world-building and overall experience of the story. The comradery, family-like dynamic within the MC is one of my highlights. There’s a genuine brotherhood amongst these fictional characters that truly made me feel emotionally invested in them all.

(One secondary character in particular stood out and if it wasn’t for his added comic relief and all around cheery personality, I don’t think this story would be the same). 🙌

Whilst you can technically read each book as standalone, there are lingering storylines in the background that interconnect these books. I would recommend you start from the beginning of the series to really grasp the entirety of their world, although Osborn does a thorough job of giving you the gist of each couple so you’re up to scratch with everyone’s stories so far without having reading any of the previous books beforehand.

There’s equal parts romance to the MC elements. If you enjoy the angst of slow burn romances, then you’re in for a treat with Texas and Fin as they keep you on tenterhooks. If you haven’t read any of Osborn’s MC books, I should point out there can be some dark elements. Her stories (at least within this series) contain matters that may be triggering for some readers. Please note, Protective includes triggers such as graphic violence, displays of intimidation resulting in death threats and stalking, and domestic abuse (displaying the emotional and mental affects it has to those who’ve experienced it). It contains strong mature themes and sexual content intended for readers 18+ only.

Protective is a rollercoaster ride with a lot of twists and turns. It’s unpredictable and at times can be eccentric. Some plotlines I found realistic, whilst at other times a little out there. What I did find consistent and comforting where the relationships (and what I always look forward to seeing from each book in this series). For the most part, the atmosphere of the story was grim and edgy, but Osborn included some well placed light-hearted moments to break up some of the tension. You’re on the edge of your seat from the get-go, and whilst the second half wasn’t what I had expected in terms of plot lines, I still found the overall experience of reading this book enjoyable.

If you’ve read the previous books in the series, then this one is not to be missed, especially since Texas and Fin seemed like a long time coming. It’s suspenseful, action-packed, and like the others, will keep you reading until the end!

And speaking on the ending…. *eep!* 🙊

Osborn’s writing is so favourable! From the books I’ve read so far of hers, not a single one has failed in keeping me intrigued. I’m down for her characters, the stories she comes up with, and the developments. They’re complex and yes, they can be gritty at times, but she has striking characters who are relatable, and her stories are hearty romantic suspense that keeps you guessing. I love that whilst their great swoon-worthy escapism, there’s always substance in her romance stories.

All the books in the Houston Defiance are must reads, and Protective is a great addition to this ever-expanding MC. I’m looking forward to reading the next one!

Protective is book five of the Houston Defiance MC series. This series should be read in order, so I highly recommend starting with book one of the series. These stories start where the previous one left off and you'll have a better understanding of the supporting characters and their environment. This story focuses on Texas and Finley.

Texas comes off as the jokster of the club. He's the least emotional and he's usually really easy going. But this is actually a defense mechanism Texas uses to keep people from getting really close to him and a way for him to avoid emotions and facing issues from his past. He's a lot different then I expected. But he's definitely an alpha!

Finley is sassy, a workaholic, stubborn, and fierce. She's a force to be reckoned with, in the courtroom and out. Although she was a little frustrating in this book, her stubbornness could be borderline stupid and she tended to act a tad selfish, as well as reckless, in the name of her career. But I appreciated the fact that Osborn stayed true to her character and didn't change her from how we've known her to be in previous books.

This series has been highly unpredictable with added twists you'll never see coming and plots going in multiple directions. This book was no different. There were some heart stopping moments, lots of action, and heart wrenching chaos. I feel that there is a war on the horizon so I'm sure the best is yet to come. Osborn really knows how to shake things up and keep us on our toes.

Finlay and Texas have gradually been becoming closer in the series so this is wonderful to see them explore a relationship or to see if they could have one. As Fin thinks to herself, ‘Texas is worth the risk!’ he definitely is but she is a powerhouse herself too. A match made in heaven they are not, more like oil and water that shouldn’t mix, but only in the eyes of society being that she is a high-powered, successful attorney and he is a 1% biker.

This fast-paced story is jam-packed with nail-biting action and intense drama that often has you on the edge of your seat, I loved every bit of it. I will say there were some scary moments and my anxiety really did rise through fear for loved characters. Such is the quality of the writing by this author, you truly feel like you know these characters and want only the best for them.

The mystery behind who is after Finlay isn’t one for long because you find out quickly but what you don’t know is what his plans are, when he will strike next nor how. The suspense is enormous and well played out, not over-the-top but well-balanced. Then add in more twists and this unpredictable storyline gets even better.

With an intriguing ending like that it only makes you want book 6, Deceptive, now! These books are addictive because they are so good.

I’m In Love with Texas!!

If you love your MCs with men who are sexy and the best part is that they are so protective of those they love this is a must read. We also get to revisit the Chicago Defiance MC in this book as well. This author has written some of the MC books I’ve read. The Defiance MC is definitely a brotherhood which I always look forward to the next book in the series.

Texas has earned his name, in many aspects, and he is also the SAA of the Houston Defiance MC. Finley is the club’s attorney and isn’t easily intimidated…that is until a man she put away and is now out on technicalities has threatened her life. She turns to the club for protection. I loved the push and pull between Texas and Finley.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves their books full of love, suspense, steam and plenty of action.

Texas had always felt different and as if he didn't fit in anywhere, but when he found the Houston Defiance MC he felt as if he were at home, even though it was 1600 miles from his real home in Jersey. As the joint SAA (Sergeant-at-Arms), his job is to be protective and keep his brothers at the club safe. In essence, to be the first line of defence against anyone who seeks to do them harm. What happens when those who defend suddenly need protection? She upholds the law and the club lives by its own - never a good mix. When all else fails, will Defiance rise through the ash?

Wow - this really was full of danger and drama pretty much from the start to the finish. When it all started to come to a head so much happened I was convinced that all hope was lost, but no, they all worked together and somehow managed to find a way through what were the most serious and devastating circumstances. I was thrilled when Texas and Fin finally did something about the attraction that they have both danced around for a long time - and that kind of happiness could not have happened to two nicer people. Throughout it all, I could feel and empathise with all the thoughts and emotions of the characters. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Absolutely amazing! This was my first book to read in this series and granted I didn't know back story at a certain point, I still enjoyed every page. Texas and Finley are wonderful strong characters that will grab a hold of you and keep you on the edge of your seat. K.E. did a great job with the storyline and keeping me interested. There's happy, sad, scary and funny moments throughout which make this story of Texas and Finley worth reading. I may have missed some of the series but I got in on a great part. I recommend this series.

Oh how I love Texas and Finley. Their story is epic. You have a bad*as
lawyer joining forces with one smoking hot alpha male and you know there's going to be fireworks, and boy is there ever. I love how Texas will do anything to protect Finley. I'm so excited that they got their happy ever after. This author definitely threw in some very unpleasant surprises that I wanted to throw my kindle about, but can't say more about that. I absolutely love all of the characters in this series. They are phenomenal. I'm really excited to read Phantom's story but I also hope to get to read baroness's story. She is definitely intriguing.

So many emotions!! Finley and Texas are exceptional together. Their understanding of each other after letting the walls down is fantastic, they are truly meant for one another. The events that take place make you think it’s all the evil after Fin, but there’s so much more at play. Not going to lie, there was a moment where I told myself if Thai really happens I’m going to be so upset that I might not be able to continue. But luckily fate was on my side as well as the Houston Defiance MC. Very excited to see what transpires in the next one!

Plenty of action and suspense to keep you glued to the book. A love so strong Texas would do anything to protect Finley. She doesn't know what to do with her feelings for Texas. There's a lot of different factions going on in this book to work through. Finley is the clubs attorney, so they will protect her at all costs. Excellent book.

🚨May contain spoilers from previous books in the series🚨

Protective was the most different book in the series so far: the main characters are adorable, their story focuses on the evolution of their friendship to something more and the general plot of Houston Defiance on the old enemies who return to take revenge on the Club, there are galas to attend, parties to prepare and family gatherings to attend, as well as twists and turns and unexpected situations that made my heart stop in more than one chance.

Texas is a character that I was dying to meet since Impulsive, I had very high expectations of him and he didn’t disappoint. Texas is a kind and warm-hearted man, a bit overprotective and intense in that regard, but someone trustworthy, playful, funny and a bit cocky, just like the rest of the guys, he has found his place in the world in the Houston Defiance after going through difficult times in his life. One of the things I liked the most about him was the great little details that he has with everyone around him and the way he behaves with Finley, and how he did with Oakley during Impulsive. The secrets of his past and the obstacles he has to face in the present were something that surprised me a lot but I enjoyed reading, especially when he confesses to the rest of the boys his situation and them support him unconditionally.

Finley was another character that I was already in love with, that's why I was so happy when I read that she would be a main character in the series, she is a very strong and brave woman with clear goals, she has fought her entire life to get what she wants and believes strongly in the value of justice and loves her job as a lawyer. Fin finds herself in danger due to an old case and is forced to put her pride aside and ask for help from the Houston Defiance’s boys, but everything is much more difficult than she expected, because in the process she has to give Texas the control over her life and freedom, and has to deal with a feeling of vulnerability that is not at all pleasant for her. I loved that Fin is so determined and willing to get what she wants, especially when it comes to Texas, put herself in the shoes of other people and try to understand their circumstances, but especially, I enjoy reading it discover her true feelings, dreams and desires.

One of the changes that this book has is the fact that Finley & Texas have been friends for a while, their relationship is simple, good and they trust each other from the beginning, it’s also evident to those around them that they are attracted to each other, and although Fin's work represents an obstacle between them, it all becomes more difficult to ignore as they spend more and more time together. Without a doubt, these two are the cutest and most tender in the series, they have a simple, kind, fun and hot relationship that occurs very naturally, they have great trust and love for each other and they support each other unconditionally at all times, besides, the ending for them is also very different from what K E Osborn has us used to in this series, and I loved it.

The best plus of all is that Protective also gives us much more information about the lives of previous characters, such as Wraith & Prinie, and although it gave me very distressing moments, I really enjoyed reading them again. Phantom is also a character that we can learn more about, and we witness the unexpected return of Koda to the MC. In addition, the plot that interconnects the series becomes increasingly interesting with the return of old enemies, the emergence of new ones, and the unexpected appearance of a new threat.

🇪🇸

PROTECTIVE is the fifth instalment in KE Osborn’s contemporary, adult HOUSTON DEFIANCE MC erotic, MC,romance series focusing on the members of the Houston Defiance MC. This is Sargent at Arms Texas, and club attorney Finley ‘Fin’ Knight. PROTECTIVE can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is an ongoing premise throughout.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the storyline premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Fin and Texas) PROTECTIVE follows in the wake of threats against our story line heroine. Finley Knight’s latest court case made her a target of a very powerful man. Desperate for help, Finley approaches her most infamous clients, the Houston Defiance MC, asking for protection, in case of attack. Enter Houston Defiance MC Sargent at Arms Texas, and the man with whom Finley would fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship between Finley and Texas, and the potential fall-out as the club finds themselves targeted from several sides, leaving a wake of death and destruction in the wake.

Texas has lusted after Finley Knight for as long as he can remember but volunteering to protect Finley places our hero in the direct line of fire, a fire he is willing to fight in an effort to save the woman he loves. But sometimes, the threats comes from another direction, and now the Houston Defiance MC is pulled into a war, not of their making. Along with former prospect Phantom, Texas finds himself on round the clock security duty, fighting a fight that he may not be able to win. Finley Knight is a strong willed, independent and oft-times frustrating heroine who refuses to change her life, even if it means, exposing herself to another attack. The fact that Finley ‘asked’ for help, then refused to follow, makes our heroine TSTL at the most inopportune times.

The relationship between Finley and Texas is one of immediate attraction but Finley refuses to cross the line with her protection and client. When the attacks against Finley target her home, Texas pulls Finley in to the Houston Defiance compound only to discover that betrayal comes at a cost. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Phantom, Wraith and Prinie, Zero and Cherry, as well as most of the previous storyline characters. The requisite evil has many faces.

PROTECTIVE is a story of betrayal and vengeance, obsession and revenge, family, friendships, relationships and love. The premise is heart breaking, emotional and captivating; the romance is edgy and seductive; the characters are broken, energetic, and desperate.

Protective is the fifth title in the Houston Defiance series, and features Finley and Texas character who have featured frequently in the previous additions to the series. Their story is a angsty, slow burn MC romance.
Finley is the club lawyer, she’s determined, independent, fierce, stubborn to the point of being reckless at times. She’s a workaholic, who tends to put her work before her happiness.
Texas is the SAA for the Houston Defiance, with a tragic past. He’s an intense, loyal, brawny, hulk of a hero who is incredibly protective of those he holds dear.
Their connection is undeniable, shining through from previous titles in their care, trust, and admiration for each other.
This title is unpredictable, with plenty of danger, drama, action, intrigue and suspense with twists and turns I didn’t see coming.

Protective
(Houston Defiance MC #5)
Written by: K.E. Osborn

Finley Knight is a lawyer who takes on the worst of the worst when it comes to criminals. So when she took on Maxen Miller and won that was a good win, but Miller threatened her as he was taken out of the courtroom. Now the worst has happened his conviction has been overturned and she needs protection.

The members of Houston Defiance MC are there for Finley who is their club lawyer; so there is no problem stepping up to provide protection. Texas and Phantom have volunteered to give her the 24-hour protection she needs. Of course there is a reason Texas stepped up, he is interested in her, but he also feels he isn’t worthy enough to move on that interest.

The club may be quiet now, but one never knows what will happen!

These men have quite a sense of humor, especially when it comes to those who are now married and when they find out about Texas’ interest he gets some good ribbing. They are also a group that are going through change, not bad change, definitely some good change but it will take time to accept the change.

Author K.E. Osborn gives readers light moments, but when the action begins it is non-stop and the members of Houston Defiance along with the visitors from Chicago Defiance step up and take care of business.

This book moved, through good days and bad days and I was surprised when the book ended as time had flown quickly. Although I haven’t read the entire series I didn’t feel I was missing out on anything coming in at Book 5 but as always you might want to start off with book 1 of the Houston Defiance series.

" Honey, every day you spend being indecisive is one day less of your life you'll never get back. One day less where you could be having a beautiful life. "

I honestly cannot get enough of The Houston Defiance Series; each book is uniquely it's own but still has the core theme of brotherhood and family throughout. It's like coming home every time you return to this book world. GAH! Texas and Finley, these two were SO frustrating! The push and pull, their stubbornness & defense mechanisms (Fin ) had me shouting at my kindle but BUT their friendship, the undeniable chemistry and the layers these two had kept me fully invested. Throw in all the heart stopping action, twists and turns and well you've got yourself one heck of a read!

I was so happy to get to read this story. Finely & Texas…. You’ve watched them through the other stories getting closer. I’ve waited patiently for their story to be told to see what would happen and I was not disappointed. You het plenty of action, suspense & romance with this story. But mostly you get to see brotherhood with friends & family that some people only dream of having. I love this series!

I love these guys so much, and this series just keeps getting better, especially the overarching storylines running through the series.

This story is a biggie with lots happening around the club. Most of it though centres around Texas and a woman we have already come to know, District Attorney, Finley Knight.

Now, here's where I have to put my annoyed hat on. This woman is almost as selfish as Prini. She's career driven to the point of putting the guys as risk just do she can carry on with her job. She also degrades Texas and his brothers more than once. For me, her attitude went on for too long, and I didn't warm to her as much as I wanted to.

But that aside, the whole story is huge, and while shocking in parts, brings some old favourites back to visit.

Looking forward to the next one x

This story is about Texas & Fin - Texas is the clubs SAA and Fin is the clubs lawyer that helps them whenever they need legal help, When Fin's past catches up with her she goes to the club for help and Texas goes into Protective mode on Fin and stays with her day and Night. The chemistry between them is apparent to everyone, however Fin isn't sure how this will look to all of her clients. Can Fin stop worrying about what other people outside of the club think and just let herself be happy?

Another great addition to the Houston Defiance MC and cannot wait for the next book.

4*
Fin has helped the club on numerous occasions but usually kept her distance, however a case she worked on has come back & is seeking revenge.
Texas has built up a good place in the club and when Finley needs their help he volunteered.
The chemistry between them is sizzling but she's not sure how their lives could merge together.
I loved how protective Texas was towards Fin and the way they were drawn together. It was great to have the other characters from previous books be mentioned.

*This is a 3.5 read for me. I am comfortable rounding up to a four on this one though. It's not my favorite in the series, but it doesn't make me want to throw it against the wall either.*

Let's talk Finley and Texas for a second:

I didn't care for Finley. Based on the glimpses that we see of her in the other books, she's not actually a horrible side character. She's a top notch lawyer that appears to be willing to bend the rules to fit the situation. Now, it's her story being told, but it's hard to reconcile the two facets of her personality. The Finley that is presented in this book is a strait-laced lawyer, who is more concerned about appearances than anything else including her own safety.

In Protective, Finley finds her self the target one of the criminals that she helped put away. It's enough to scare her, so she turns to the Houston Defiance for help. I really liked the premises of this story. I thought it was enough simple enough to push her and Texas together without being overdone. I just felt that Finley's opinions and attitudes made her sound judgmental. I couldn't understand why she would belittle the same people who were trying to protect her. Of course, there are several incidents that change her mind, but by then it's almost too late. The jury is still out on whether or not they should actually be together.

Now, let's talk Texas:

Everything is bigger in Texas, and I loved his cocky personality. I just didn't realize that his over-the-top antics hid scars from a traumatic childhood. I think the best part of this book is that we get to see what lies underneath. In previous books, he's just another officer of the club with a loud personality. We just don't know until now that the Defiance saved him. They may not be blood, but they are the family by choice. I think that's what makes it so hard to believe that there might not be someone better out there for him. Texas allows Fin to criticize everything that the MC stands for. He never tells her enough is enough. I kind of felt that he was soft in that he never makes a stand against her hypocrisy. In this case, Texas was the doormat and not the biker.

*If you've you gotten to this point, then you'll know that I updated my review. I didn't change the star rating, but I did feel that I may have been a little harsh. The sentiments are the same though.*

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "PROTECTIVE" This was a very addicting intense drama, full of danger, suspense, intrigue, angst, revenge, sexual tension, action packed on the edge of your seat story.
Finley Knight is the Houston Defiance MC lawyer Texas who is the Protector of Club Family has always had an attraction to her but she's off limits being their lawyer plus he wouldn't for into her world or she his.
Finley fights the tough criminal cases taking on Maxen Miller who has charges so long he go away for life he raped Violet her client & killed her husband & son right in front of her she gets him put away for life he tells to her he'll be seeing her it was a threat.
Finley goes to Houston Defiance MC for their help because Maxen's case was over turned he was out & making good on his threat Zero President agrees to help Texas steps up & he takes Phantom with him to guard her 24/7.
I definitely recommend to get this excellent well written story I loved all the character but wasn't a fan of Finley didn't like her character at first or how she treated Texas but things changed further into the story & I grew up like her the chemistry between Texas & Finley was scorching hot.
Things get a little chaotic & Chicago Defiance MC steps up to help Houston Defiance MC which helped making this even that more interesting so much happens it'll blow you away I can't wait for book #6

What a great story this was about Texas who is the SAA of the Houston Defiance MC and Finley who is a lawyer who happens to do a lot of work for the MC. The chemistry between them was sizzling hot and you could feel it coming off the pages. When Finley encounters some trouble she enlists the help of the Houston Defiance MC to help her out so Texas and Phantom are sent to protect Finley. When drama unfolds Finley and Texas become even closer than they already are and a passionate love grows between them. Your heart will break for Texas who has issues from his past that he has trouble talking about but Finley helps him seek assistance and you see a vulnerability that you would not expect from a biker. There is drama, love, passion that will keep you on your toes throughout the entire book and thus you are gifted a great story that will keep you enthralled for hours. We are left with an interesting ending and left wanting so much more of this MC and all these wonderful characters.

I received an arc copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review

We start out following Finley in this story. Who is she? What does she do for a living? Who is Maxen? What is he doing at Finley's job? Who is Violet? Where are these people located? Who is Texas and what job does he volunteer for? Who goes with him on the job? Why? Well, once I got into the story, I forgot to take short breaks to write bits and pieces of my review like I normally would do. There were so many things that were happening in this story that I am glad my head was attached to my shoulders by my neck or it would have gone flying off in some spots!!! There were some really unexpected appearances by characters from earlier books. I saw some things that had me cursing like a sailor in spots. One in particular! You will not believe what happened in the story and I am not sure I believe it! Enjoy this read!

He Ignites me.
He drives me
He makes my senses run wild.

Texas and Finn's story was always going to be explosive, it has been simmering in the background for 4 books and K.E. Osborn likes to tease and this has been one hell of a teaser. Texas the MC Protector, and Finm the MC's lawyer have been at logger's heads forever, but K. E. Osborn has given me enough little carrots over time that you knew there was something more coming and like a volcano their relationship is about to explode, but so is the danger to the club. Finn has always kept herself apart from the club, the members think she is stuck up and to be honest, she is, but when the chips are down, and decisions have to be made where will her loyalties be.

Protective is a slow burn, engrossing page-turner and another hit for K.E. Osborn in the Houston Defiance series.

I did not want to stop reading this story. There was so much angst, tearful moments, action and violence, and of course, love, support, and brotherhood. I loved how protective Texas was of Fin, how he tried to just do his job and not mess things up. Fin was so strong, yet vulnerable and quite willing to ask for assistance. I enjoyed all the supporting characters and look forward to the next book. K.E. Osborn's writing keeps me coming back for more.

I received a copy of this story through The Hatters Service, and this is my unsolicited review.

Protective is the 5th book in this series and takes us on a bumpy ride with Texas and Finley. Their chemistry is electric and explosive and will have this slow burn holding you captive to the pages. It is filled with angst, drama, chaos and suspense. This is an opposites attract romance that has these two drawn to each other like a moth to a flame. This action packed storyline has some twists and turns and ups and downs as these two take us on an entertaining and unpredictable journey. A story with love, family and witty banter. Another great addition to this series.
