This was such a sweet and quick little read, it kind of snuck up on me. At first, I wasn’t fully sold on the connection between Oto and Sura since it felt like they were mostly riding on that childhood bond, but the further I got into it, the more I actually felt the shift. The story really grows into itself and so does their relationship.
Sura’s your typical outgoing, kinda guarded schoolboy, while Oto is the quiet type who just blurts out whatever’s on his mind (honestly a green flag). That contrast between them was lowkey adorable. They're awkward in the best way, and I ended up loving their dynamic way more than I expected to. The slow burn is subtle but satisfying, and Oto’s confession? Beautiful. Like, that two-panel moment lives rent-free in my head now.
Also, shoutout to the bonus chapter showing them ten years later, still absolutely gone for each other. We love some lasting love. It’s short, simple and such a nice serotonin boost when you need something soft and cozy.
This was a super cute and fast read! Sometimes you just need a pick me up between books to keep the reading slumps away!
After arriving to the welcome party for the last semester of Sura’s high school career, he runs into a new student (Oto) that he used to play with as a child. And of course things take a wild turn when Oto professes his feelings to Sura.
I loved relationship contrast between Sura and Oto. Oto is very grounded, speaks everything that is on his mind, and is quiet. While Sura is guarded with his feelings, and is the outgoing school boy. They were just cutely awkward together. I especially loved the slow burn romance that we got as well.
The art style was beautiful of course and I loved looking through the manga after I was done just to enjoy the art... hahah have you ever done that? I could definitely read more by this mangaka and be perfectly happy!
Actually baited by the cover art and I'm glad I decided to read this because it wasn't a wrong move at all~ 💃🏻 ((a lil' bit tmi— lately my gut-feeling was on a consecutive roll bcs i keep finding good stuff to read now i'm kinda scared LOL))
The artwork is good. It has a likeable characters. The pace and flow are great. I like how we got to see Oto and Sora in many life forms; from little kid, teen, puberty and adorable growth spurt in highschool, to adult ((i sounded like a pokémon trainer LMAO—)). It was so cute how Oto was so eager on professing his love. Too bad it's a stand-alone 🥺
((—pspspsps sensei, some sequels and spin-offs are totally welcomed))
My favorite chapter would be the [10 years later in spring] because their chemistry was fwhooosh— 🚀🌌
"Everyday, love me more"/"Hibi mo tsumoreba to naru" follows Sora Nitori - a boy struggling with his parents divorce and Oto Inui - a boy Sora met 10 years prior when they were both elementary school students. This is a very sweet romance story with some family drama involved but nothing too intense. I only wish this manga was longer than 6 chapters so that more character development and backstory could be explored. It was refreshing to see a bisexual character represented in a BL manga since that is very rare. Usually mangaka writes bisexual male characters as a straight male being persuaded by a gay character into a relationship however in "Everyday, love me more"/"Hibi mo tsumoreba to naru" the question of Sora being bisexual isn't made into a big deal nor does it negatively affect his relationship with Oto. There is a spin-off story about Sora's friend Ryu Honjiyo called "Paint love and the colors will bloom/koi wo egakeba iro ga saku" by the same author Kon Shota (odd name isn't it?). 4 and a half stars.
This was such a sweet read, one of those soft and wholesome reads. The story is pretty straightforward without any exaggerated drama or misunderstandings; it's just the story of two guys falling in love. It's a pretty solid romance, and I loved how the past and present connected, and everything is just so soft and delicate. The manga keeps it PG, but the last chapter is ten years later and is pretty spicy, and I loved seeing them all grown up. Definitely recommend this one-shot, and it's on Futekiya. This manga also has a spin-off called Koi o Egakeba Iro ga Saku ,which follows Sora's friend Ryu, and I think that one is also licensed by Futekiya (I think), but it's not available yet.
I had no idea one of my fave BLs, Paint Love and the Colors will Bloom, had a prequel! I thought this was a cute, fast read but not anything of depth that the spin off had. Still a cute sotry about two hs boys in love, that's it.
Yeah.... I don't mind the language bcoz just by looking at the cover I know which one is this.
Oto and Sora... two childhood friends for one summer. Oto, being from Tokyo... don't have any friends in his Grandma's place(city where Sora also resides) was a loner, until one day Sora become his friends and invites to play....They reunite in high school with Oto suddenly appearing infront of Sora and proposing him. This was crucial year in Sora's life so he wanted to completely focus on studying but this.... still Oto made room so that Sora can focus on his study and been the super supportive and wonderful friend for him💜💜 (don't mind the purple heart, I always use purple heart instead of red)
"I Proposed him, so what?? It's none of your business"
"Or could it be that.. you are also interested in Sora???"
Oh wow!! The way Oto handles and shrug off those bullies in the school👍👍👍 Not to mention the gesture of good luck charm that make other people feel better and it's reality🤭🤭
*Reread 4/20/2022* Oh wow it's been almost a full year since I last read this. I wanted to reread this after reading the spin off and my previous rating still stands. It's a really cute, but it doesn't have the same oomf as Paint Love and the Colors will Bloom. I did love seeing Ryu in high school though. So cute.
*Original Review 5/1/2021* Why are all the stories on futekiya so short!!
This was super cute. The story got a bit confusing in some parts, but I got it eventually. I don't think this story lost too much being only one volume, it felt very well-rounded. The last chapter really spiced it up. It was all fluffy and cute and then wow the escalation I was not expecting. The 10 years later chapter was meh, I don't like the whole "remember this thing that happened a few years ago that the reader literally just read." It doesn't feel very natural and the whole crying thing was really random.
