Author of Sweet and Spicy Romance from Yesteryear #sweetandspicyromance

Welcome to my little corner of the internet! So who am I? Well, it's quite simple actually. I'm a history-lovin' author who writes in her fuzzy pants and loves her horses! My stories have a pinch of sweetness, a dash of spice, and a dollop of history. Sound interesting? Then slip into your petticoats and curl up on the couch while I transport you to the past!

Growing up in Nevada, reading was always a pastime that took second place to trail riding and showing horses. When I did find the time in my youth to curl up with a book, I found enjoyment in the Saddle Club Series, the Sweet Valley High series, and the classics of Anne of Green Gables, The Box Car Children, and Little House on the Prairie. Although, writing always piqued my curiosity, it wasn’t until September 2009 that I worked up the courage to put my passion to paper and started my debut novel. With a love of history, it wasn’t hard for me to decide to pick the Historical Romance genre.

I live on a ranch with my husband, two daughters, and many farm animals. When I'm not writing, I spends my days from dawn to dusk as a stay at home, homeschooling mom. I also work in my garden and takes care of my many farm animals, as well as I love to bake and cook from scratch. While I don't show horses anymore, I still love to trail ride my paint horse, Honky, as well as I enjoy teaching my daughters how to ride their horses, Sunburst and Cowboy.

This gripping conclusion the The Promises Between Us trilogy kept me up all night. I had to know what happened. This book ripped my heart out... in a good way. I cried. I laughed. AND THE ENDING!!! Whoa. Didn't see that coming. In a good way. I loved this book. I loved this trilogy. I love how well Archer crafts the setting, how she shapes the characters, how everything stands up off the page and comes to life. This trilogy is a must read. You won't regret it!

What a load of rubbish

I read this book along with the two previous books on my Kindle and they were full of errors and spelling mistakes and too many American words used. If the author want to write a book about the war in the UK and Channel Islands, she should use words that they used then not for example 'pants, oatmeal, faucet' to name but a few and no one would say 'thank you for your service' to a soldier going off to war in the UK. They did not use tea bags in the UK until the 1950's and even then it was very rare. Not much research was put into this story. I wasn't sorry when I finished reading them.

I also thought that Amelia was very, very selfish, she married the first person who asked her, but didn't want her sister to be happy with Henry who she met 2 weeks before she was evacuated to the UK. AND why would you marry your dead sister's husband. I wont be reading any more books by this author. Give me Lyn Andrews, Annie Groves, Ann Baker, Pam Howes any day.

They say 3rd times a charm but this isn’t that

I tried to like this concluding book…but still the same typos, historical errors and a main character that has been obnoxious made it not so. The plot line was predictable and flat, the ending was unimaginative and actually insulting. Again not a deep emotional read - read the trilogy in one day.

The third and final of the trilogy. Henry and Amilia finally get together on the island of Guernsey and Amilia becomes the editor of the newspaper and the mother of three.

I usually hate serial books

But this series is the exception. While each can be read alone, they also meld seamlessly into each other. I have spent most of the last few days reading these books every chance I had. Excellent!

Ok

I was a bit disappointed with the ending... I thought it was weird but I guess in those times they did marry the spouses siblings so I guess it's at least historically accurate lol not a bad book, or story!

Another Chance

The third edition of this series takes the reader to life after the war. Reconnecting the family and starting again is heart warming.

The conclusion to this 3-book series about two Channel Island sisters during WWII - as the war comes to an end, so do the stories of these sisters. I really enjoyed the series

I liked the story of the 3 books, but the writing was atrocious. Lots of incomplete sentences, typos, grammatical errors, etc. The ending was predictable.
