3.5 rounded up bc I suspect at least some of my disconnect was due to being exhausted when I read it. Picked this up in the new nonfiction display at the library and then read it in one go, also not a smart move w poetry ime. BUT I did really enjoy several of the poems and would probably benefit from savoring them more. Will look out for this poet's name in the future!

Abdurraqib has a true gift with language. Her ability to capture depth and raw emotions truly draws you in as a reader. These are poems that can (and should!) be read over and over, as their meaning grows deeper and richer with each reading.

Read it for a book bingo challenge it was okay I’m just not into poems usually. There was one that was interesting to me
