A fascinating study of some impressive buildings. Whether I get to see many of them is an open question but it provides a useful reference resource.

This was a photographic gem of a book, over a hundred photos of amazing modernist houses throughout the world.
I hadn't realized though that the title, a "travel guide" really reflects the format of the book; each house gets around a half page written description, with perhaps one or two photos and then details of when tours are on/if you can stay there. I was hoping for more information on each house and more interior photos (some only feature one photo of the exterior, some from a distance). That was my own oversight however.
Overall the book is a lovely visual experience. Perusing through the pages at your own leisure is a relaxing and indulgent pastime.
What did strike me on the section of houses featured in the Czech Republic, is how the state was heinous in its confiscation of properties from families who had put their blood, sweat and tears into designing and building them, only to be pilfered by government! Some properties weren't returned until decades later, some having been trashed and allowed to slide into dereliction. What a travesty.
Recommended for architecture lovers, who knows, you might be able to visit some of these amazing properties.

If you love visiting architecturally unique buildings on your travels then this is a great primer for modern buildings. Some buildings on the list are available for overnight stay to month rentals. I’m especially interested in SAS Royal in Copenhagen and TWA Hotel in New York.

An excellent collection of buildings. Essays are laconic and only a single picture of two of each works, but those combine to pack a lot of interesting houses into one volume.
