Faith Thornton runs Last Chance's post and telegraph office now that the husband she loved so much is gone. Faith vows she'll never marry again because no man could ever take Aaron's place. But her grief gave way to loneliness, especially after her sister Celia married and returned to her farm, and she found herself striking up a friendship in letters with a gentleman in New Orleans. What will she do when he shows up unexpected at her door, thinking they'll be married?
Beau Landry enjoyed the letters he shared with Faith, and when he has to leave New Orleans quickly, he heads straight to Last Chance, thinking the lady is simply waiting for him to ask for her hand. Faith is more beautiful and more smart than he ever could have imagined—and yet she has no interest at all in marrying him.
But a veiled threat from the town's preacher grants Beau his wish. The only question that remains is whether Faith will allow him to love her. Well, that and whether the misdeeds he ran from in Louisiana will catch up with him in Last Chance.
A Groom for Faith is a sweet and clean historical western romance that is part of the multi-author Blizzard Brides series. It can be enjoyed as part of the series or as a standalone book.
If you enjoy this book, you will love Cat's earlier book in the series, A Bride for Celia. You might also enjoy Cat's other series, Crest Stone Mail-Order Brides, The Gilbert Girls, and Brides of Fremont County.
The author has penned a sweet heartwarming, yet unique story with wonderful characters. This is Faith Thornton and Beau Landry's story. Faith lost her husband Aaron in the blizzard that claimed the lives of almost all of the men of Last Chance. She is determined to never marry again but does begin a pen pal correspondence with Beau. Beau encounters some trouble in New Orleans and decides to travel to Last Chance believing Faith will be willing to marry him. Oops, upon his arrival, he finds out that is not true..her desire is to just be friends. Then the pastor who has determined all the widows must marry immediately or leave town comes calling and insists the couple marry at once. Faith and Beau agree on a marriage of convenience. Beau is loving and kind to Faith and she begins to have some feelings for him but feels betrayal of her first husband; then the trouble that caused Beau to flee New Orleans comes calling. What will the couple do? Will the marriage of convenience become a HEA? Will their relationship survive Beau's troubled past? Be sure to read this great story to find out; I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.
I can't get over how Cat can write so many books in this genre yet make each one so unique and captivating! I love these Blizzard Bride books following such a strong and independent group of women. Even though Faith was seeing many of her friends meet and marry again she still felt it would be disloyal to her late husband Aaron for her to do so. But loneliness caused Faith to reach out through the mail to build a friendship with Beau, even though she never expected to meet him in person, let alone marry. I wondered what would happen when he showed up unexpectedly in Last Chance but what she enjoyed so much about him through letters broke through her initial irritation of his surprise arrival. I won't spoil the beauty of you reading the ins & outs of their relationship but will tell you it is a wonderful story full of hurdles both within their relationship and all of the outside factors they both find themselves battling! I highly recommend this book! I received an advanced copy of this book from the author but this review is my voluntary and honest opinion.
I thoroughly enjoyed this clean historical romance by Ms. Cahill. Faith is a lonely widow who begins writing a pen pal in New Orleans to pass her lonely hours. One day Beau, the pen pal, comes to Last Chance to meet Faith in person and finds she's even lovelier than he imagined from her letters. A bit of luck for Beau when he rescues Faith from an ultimatum and Faith is forced to marry him--in name only. Faith feels she's dishonoring her dead husband Aaron when she begins to have feelings for Beau, so she tries to remain distant. But Beau's charm and kindness begins to win her over. Right when things seem to be working in favor for this couple, a dangerous situation arises, stemming from Beau's reason to flee New Orleans. A delightful story (& series) I wholeheartedly recommend! Can't wait to read Josie's story next! I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review.
After Faith lost her husband Aaron, the town’s preacher wanted all the widows to either marry again or leave the town. Unfortunately, Faith did not want to marry again. So when the man she had been corresponding with for several months just shows up one day, she is not exactly thrilled. To help her out and keep the preacher off her back, Beau sets a time to get married the day after they met for the first time… In this story, we read about how each person grieves differently. Beau turned to gambling, Faith kept up her husband’s dreams and legacy alive and wanted to stay widowed forever. Both realized at some point that the way they were handling their grief was probably not the best and also not what the departed would have wanted for them. As they get to know each other better, they both discover how much life still has to offer. Enjoy this encouraging story about a couple who overcomes their grief.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

• This was a clean read and I appreciated that.
I was given a free copy of this book by the author. My review was voluntary and my opinions were my own. I'm looking forward to reading more books by Cat Cahill.
This series has been an interesting one to follow. I recommend you read this book to get the full story of Faith and Beau’s relationship. Their story is short, interesting and wonderful. Faith is not looking to remarry after the death of her beloved in the second unexpected blizzard that took the lives of many, including the men going to retrieve the bodies of those who had perished in the earlier. She has been secretly writing to Beau in New Orleans. He brightens her day with her letters and neither of them had mentioned marriage. Beau unexpectedly shows up in Last Chance but Faith is reluctant to have a personal relationship with him. However, the pastor has other ideas. Beau has left New Orleans to leave behind the mistakes he should have never made after his father’s death. Will the secret he holds cause problems in his new marriage?
I was looking forward to Faith's story. Poor Faith lost the love of her life in the blizzard. She doesn't want another husband when she's still in love with her first husband. She tries to resist the Preacher's insistence that the widows remarry or move, but one of the letters intrigues her. She starts corresponding with the writer since marriage is never discussed. But imagine her surprise when the man who writes such amusing letters steps off the stage and very much into her life! Beau has come from New Orleans and knows he sees a treasure when he meets Faith. Can he convince her to open her heart again? Will his past catch up with him? This book was sweet and really good! Definitely a favourite in the series.
Beau and Faith weren’t a bad couple but there wasn’t a lot that held my interest. And that doesn’t make a lot of sense because all the elements were there. Faith is an okay character. She’s been around since the beginning and has had some good moments but I guess the problem is she’s been around since the beginning. We already knew her story because each time she appeared we were told it. There was nothing intriguing about her. Beau on the other hand was a mystery but his story felt rushed and a little repetitive. The guy with a past and a huge secret was already done with Celia and Jack- and better might I add- so it wasn’t new. So, for me, it was a boring. Not bad, just boring.
This is another sad and loving tale of the Blizzard Brides, written by Cat Cahill. She has done an excellent job with the plot and the characters. Beau and Faith have been writing back and forth for quiet a while and his mistakes since his fathers death are catching up with him. He feels the need to go to Last Chance and meet Faith in person to see if they can be more than pen pals. He stumbles into a conversation between the pushy pastor and Faith. He introduces himself and accepts the pastors orders of marriage to Faith. Will all go well with Beau and Faith? You will enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.
This is another wonderful book in the Blizzard Brides series. I loved the undying devotion that Faith had for her deceased husband, Aaron. They were so in love and she's sure she can't move on without him. She finally started corresponding with Beau, but was surprised when he showed up in town, as she wasn't ready to be committed to someone else yet. But they decide to have a marriage of convenience, after the pastor demands it. Trouble followed Beau to town and Faith is right in the middle. I loved this book and if you like historical romance, I think you will too.
This is a wonderful story. Faith has been writing to Beau, but really has no intention of marrying him. When he shows up in Last Chance, because she is threatened by the pastor, she does marry him. She has not fully grieved for her husband and wants to keep the marriage platonic. These are wonderfully written characters than bring everything to life in the Old West. I really enjoyed reading this one and can’t wait for Josie’s story. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
Pastor Collins has struck again with his requirement that the widows of Last Chance marry or leave. Faith actually is doing well on her own even though the hours are long and lonely. Beau really doesn't lie, he just doesn't tell her everything when he first arrives. I'm not sure they would have had their happily ever after if he had. Faith needed time to get to know him. I enjoyed this book by Cat Cahill very much.
This story is of a young widow who is also the post master and telegraph operator. Faith is left to look after the post office and the telegraph operation after her husband was lost in the second blizzard that hit Last Chance. Beau is a young man who comes to town on the stage after he kills a man in his own defence. He leaves his mother in New Orleans and comes to Last Chance and falls in love with Faith. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Faith has truly struggled with her grief and hasn't been sure that she would be able to remarry. She found a letter in the grooms parcel that she truly enjoyed. In this story there is a lot of learning to truly see how they each feel and what matters to them. When she needs it Faith is able to find a great deal of courage. Beau also found his courage as he nearly loses Faith. They each help to strengthen and help the other grow.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Faith and Beau's story. Beau has a past that he's not proud of, so he tries to hide it from Faith. Unfortunately, A letter arrives for Beau without an envelope and Faith ends up reading it and confronting Beau later. She has a difficult time trusting him because he wasn't totally honest with her. It's a beautiful story, though, and shows how love can win out no matter what.
This is a well written book that hooks you on the first page and doesn't let go. It's a clean historical romance that will keep you turning the pages. Beau and Faith's story is full of ups and downs and has just enough drama and suspense to make it a book that you can't put down. I received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
I really enjoyed reading this book! The lady in this story lost her husband the year before in a large snowstorm. The man is from New Orleans and had killed a man to keep from getting killed. He and the lady have been writing to each other for a while so he decided to go see her. I recommend this book to anyone who likes western romance!
Losing something brings home just how much it means to you!
Faith is deep in her grief and convinced she can never love another, the blinkers she wears means she doesn't notice as Beau slowly works his way into her heart. But Beau also learns just how much love is worth too! A sweet addition to the Blizzard Brides series which I read on Kindle Unlimited
Faith is being pressured to remarry since she lost her husband in the second blizzard but she wants to just correspond with a msn by mail? Now he unexpectedly shows up and she will have to marry him to keep her job. I thought this was a good story with good characters. There is some wonderful character growth with the characters and I enjoyed this story a lot.
This series has a great storyline with the exception of a few characters that not so great. Faith and Beau have an incredible story of adventure, danger, mystery, lots of suspense and romance. The historical details are a wonderful addition to this story. I really enjoy having the ending tell a little more about there future.
A Groom for Faith: The Blizzard Brides Book 17 By Cat Cahill
I really enjoyed Faith Thornton story of The Blizzard Brides Book 17 By Cat Cahill . Beau Landry the mail order Groom from Louisiana . I recommend Teens and up .
This is an awesome series! I feel a part of the town! Watching the women find and be fulfilled with new love is wonderful! I never thought it would happen for Faith. I am looking forward to the next. This series has not gotten tired,
Faith has been a favorite throughout these stories. We have waited to see who can draw her out of her grief. Beau is nothing like her husband but maybe that’s exactly what she needs.
This was an action packed story there at the end. More proof that redemption is always possible. I wasn't sure Faith would ever open up to new love. I'm so glad that this story was happily ever after.
