I needed this to be longer
I knew going in that it was short, but man, I really felt the lack of length 😏.
Bridgette works at a strip club as a waitress. She constantly gets touched inappropriately, but when the book opens up, the guy grabbing her ends up trying to SA her when she gets off 😏. Luckily, she has a guardian angel that saves her, AKA her stalker and ex-boyfriend whom she lost her v to years before.
Clay is quick to dispose of the trash (👏🏻🤷🏻♀️) and consoles her by taking her to his place, a nice place since he helps out the mob. He’s been secretly watching Bridgette for a while 👀.
Now that she’s officially back in his life, he’s gonna make sure she stays there 😉.
I liked:
—how obsessed he is with her 👀
—how he doesn’t even look at other women even know he’s stalking her at a strip club 👏🏻
—that they’ve known each other
—he takes care of rhe trash
—he’s overprotective 🥰
—the one full 🔥 scene we get 😉. He makes sure she feels good
—he’s gonna take care of her and basically encourages her to quit/pursue something else 🥰
What I needed more of:
—to be fleshed out and longer
—Whyyyyy did they break up? The reason given seems silly 🤦🏻♀️ (her life was moving in a different direction 🤨. What exactly does that mean?)
—when she finds out he’s been stalking her, she’s like meh about it 🤣 why didn’t he persue her sooner ? 🤦🏻♀️ because she’s working at the strip club? It makes no sense 😬🫣
—he’s encouraging of her resuming her law degree yet we get NO info as to what she does when the book ends/in the epilogue. All we know is he still makes money and she waits for him to get home… that’s it 😐
—the lack of safety talk, or birth control, or their sexual history after their breakup 😐. Was he a hoooooar after? It’s implied he’s been celibate since seeing her again (a year after their breakup), but, nothing concrete is said. Sigh. I wish we had a sentence or two clearing this up 😐
—the endings like an HFN, which is fine, but I wanted a solid HEA
—I was missing the “I love you” from her. It’s implied but we don’t see it
Overall, it was a nice quick read but I had some questions when it ended

Kind of boring.
Another in a series of disappointing stalker reads for me. I just haven’t picked up one lately that’s hit the spot. I didn’t HATE this one but it was just kind of… blah. I didn’t have a connection to either character, it was a second chance romance which is never my favorite, and the heroine didn’t care that he stalked her, in fact she didn’t even push to find out how long he followed her. The was basically no dark moment because she doesn’t care he followed her for even a second and even though he works for the mob she never wants him to tell her what he does. It was just beige and boring. If I don’t find a decent stalker read soon I’m going to have to go back and do a reread.

Clay has been watching his previous love, Bridgette, for a while and waiting for his chance to step in and save her and be her hero. He sits in the shadows to make sure she's safe and finds his chance to be her saviour.
This was cute, not particularly dark in my opinion, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the story.

Bridgette works at The Kitten Cathouse and she’s a waitress. This man hits on her and goes to far and gets kicked out. She is done with her shift and leaves and gets attacked by the man before it goes too far a man saves her. She looks at him and it’s her old boyfriend Clay. Clay has an ulterior motive he has been watching her, and making sure she’s ok. What will happen if she finds out ? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book. This book is a short and spicy read. My first by this author definitely not my last

Well I read this cause I thought it was a different author. It wasn't long at all so I finished it and I guess the story had to move as quickly as it did because it was so short. I think of it was longer more developed and not so abrupt it would be a decent book. 2 stars for the band Bread shout out.

I wanted more of the stalking, more of the pinning on his side, and more details on why they broke up initially. The part where they were together and broke up is so weird, considering he is crazy after her. I need answers!!

This one wasn’t as big of a winner for me. Bridgette was not a strong female character, as I have come to love from Ms. Wolf. Also, we have no context to explain anything about how their previous relationship was, and why it ended to begin with. It is hinted at, but never directly stated any real specifics about their previous relationship.
I don’t have a lot of issue with the backstory stuff, because it’s not that important really, but the weak, victimized girl who could do little more than stand around in shock, even if she supposedly had a history of working as a waitress in strip club was a major pet peeve of mine.
In fact, I can say with complete certainty that if this character had been working at a strip club for the past how ever many years the constant exposure would be what psychologists would call immersion therapy, and it’s more likely that she would grow bolder during her time there, not more docile.
Have you met strippers? Most of them have no problem telling you what they think, and how they feel. I know the MFC wasn’t a stripper, sure, but long term exposure to highly sexualized work environments demand a certain level of self-autonomy to prevent one from becoming a victim.
Timid girls don’t last in a strip club, regardless of whether they are a dancer, a bartender, a manager, or a waitress. I know the image of the poor neglected daughter trying to get daddy’s attention is what most people think of when they consider their idea of who a stripper is, but the truth is not so easy to deduce, nor does any one description fit all women who work in the sex industry.
Anyways, I’m sure others won’t have the same hang-ups I do, and it is a good story, there are just things about it that are disappointing to me based on my experiences with Ms. Wolf’s other books.

Going into this, I knew it would be pretty short since it was a novella…but, this was so short that it was lacking in depth and detail, so it did not feel like a satisfying read. There were so many questions left unanswered between the MCs (ex: why they broke up, how the MMC got involved with the mafia, FMC career plans, future together, etc.), and not enough stalking for a stalker romance (99% of the stalking happened off page). The MMC was sweet in his pining for the FMC, but even the two MCs coming together lacked depth in both spice and emotional connection/communication of feelings.
This wasn’t a big time commitment, but not a novella I feel the need to reread.

Boring
Honestly even though it's short as anything it was boring and lacked any passion or element of interest. It barely gets into anything or has any back story of the characters besides they used to date and the "stalker" ...it's honestly reminds me of the show YOU but the low budget version of it and the more sensual scenes are you blink and they are gone.

Clay has been stalking Bridgette since they were together in college and he plans to make her his again. Fast-paced dark read with loads of drama, suspense and intense chemistry. Entertaining story with great characters. I liked it.

I am a lover of Mafia type books, especially when there is a goodness to it or when the characters bring a softness to only 'his girl'. Somehow, Teresa turns such a serious situation into a cute way of meeting.
Bridgette is working for a strip club, one that she has worked for for many years. As she is getting ready for the end of her shift one night, a customer gets a little touchy. As she gets him to leave her alone the rest of the night, she begins to leave. Once outside, this man comes for her, but she is saved by someone from her past. Will she be able to hold her heart from falling for him again?
When Clay saves Bridgette from being hurt/ @ssulted, he plays it up to get her do what he wants. A way to keep her, because he never let her go or stopped loving her. However, what happens when she finds out his secrets?
Can these two come together or will a past history and secrets keep them apart?

Bridgette was his 1st love in college, well his only love but her let her go. Well he did till he saw her again, still working in the dame strip bar 6 years later. So he watched, planned and waited. He'd never stopped loving her, he dreamt about her being his, he just needed the righy opportunity. Clay would wait and he would make it happen, he would become her Knight in shinning armour.
Bridgette never got used to handsy customers at work and one night one tried to follow her home and strike in the alley before the bus stop. This night everything changed, her past came to her rescue. Clay knocked her would be attacker down and offered her a safe place to stay for the night.
Clay was her 1st love, she couldn't remember why they had split up. He had saved her and her feelings came back bit by bit. Clays love just grew stronger, he struggled to tell the difference between reality and his dreams but soon that didn't matter.

Clay, The Stalker
I liked the stalker actions of Clay and protectiveness of Clay. This is why I finished reading the short story. There were a few things that I didn’t like.
Spoiler alert:
I didn’t like that Bridgette finished law school but was unable to find a law firm to accept her because she worked at a strip club during college. It would seem she could set up her own office and practice if she couldn’t find a law firm to hire her. I didn’t like that Clay had to reintroduce himself to her after rescuing her. I didn’t understand how she was unable to recognize her ex-boyfriend from college that she lost her virginity to her freshman year. I also didn’t like in the end how Clay went weeks without seeing her. How could a stalker take that much time away from the person he’s stalking, especially now that they are in a relationship? It would seem he would want to protect her more and be closer to her as a couple. I wanted more information about Clay’s job or involvement in the criminal world. It felt like It was lacking

Bridgette never got used to the handsy customers as a waitress at the strip club Kittens Cathouse, when one rejected customer corners her in an ally way she doesnt expect her old college sweetheart to become her savior much less to have been her stalker. Clay was obsessed from the first moment he met Bridgette, they had parted when she felt her life was going in a different direction but instead she ended up in the gutter life. Offering her a place to stay away from her old life was always Clays plan, he had the wealth and status afforded to him by the work he did for the mob, but once he had her in his grasp again he doesnt plan to let her go. This is a steamy well written short insta romance with obsessive and stalker theme. The characters are well developed and draw you into the story.

Is it stalking or protecting?
I kind of loved this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable regardless of the stalking that occurred. The characters were interesting and likable although I would have liked more about Bridgette and Clay. Clay fell for Bridgette when they were in college. Too Easy
I always leave an honest review when I like the idea of a good story. I don’t even bother leaving a review if I don’t like it. This would’ve been great if the main female character wasn’t such an easy catch. She accepted the situation a little too quickly. I know it was meant to be a short story but this would’ve rocked, if it was a little bit more complicated. Clay also needed to have a little bit more of a background. We never really knew who he was. It just said he did bad things…This leaves a lot of readers, myself included, unsatisfied. Finally, the ending was way too abrupt. Everybody loves a good happily ever after… Well a lot of people do anyway. But not when it comes so easy. It was cute though.

This would’ve been great if the main female character wasn’t such an easy catch. She accepted the situation a little too quickly. I know it was meant to be a short story but this would’ve rocked, if it was a little bit more complicated. Clay also needed to have a little bit more of a background. We never really knew who he was. It just said he did bad things…This leaves a lot of readers, myself included, unsatisfied. Finally, the ending was way too abrupt. Everybody loves a good happily ever after… Well a lot of people do anyway. But not when it comes so easy. It was cute though.

Every gal needs a Clay Kane.
I really liked this. So nice to have a lady who doesn't get all hysterical after learning she's been watched. Kept safe. We'd all be better with a man like Clay, who acts as needed.
Bridgette is sensible. She likes finding Clay has been following her to keep her safe. She doesn't need to know everything.
I did find 'His misdeeds are evident by the look in his eye; it’s almost sorrowful. Almost.' was unlikely. A man like Clay would not feel they were 'misdeeds'. He is connected. He's done much stronger stuff. He did what was needed to protect Bridgette

Cute but everything seemed too easy. She accepts everything without a thought or a fight. And I wish there was information if she even found another job after she quit. And it was never said clearly why the broke up in the first place or how much time had passed since the broke up and he started following her.
Also, the guy on the cover looks like a vampire, but there were no vampires, or any supernatural beings for that matter. But there was one sentence - 'I'll tear your fucking throat out with my teeth' - that reminded me of Derek from Teen Wolf.

Not sure what to even label this one. Not explicit enough for erotica. Not dark enough for a dark romance label. Super short.
