This was a quick and enjoyable read in this ongoing series. I really loved Brick/Jax character being in prison for 5 years, hardens a man, but, Brick was not that far gone that he is not able to forgive Kaye for her role in putting him behind bars. We loved the fact that he took responsibility for his actions that cost him his freedom and he knew it was a possibility and, he may have hated Kaye for her part in it but, not enough to squash the love that he had for her. Brick's actions came from loving someone and wanting to save them. Was the cost to high ? Only Brick can answer that. If we are honest, we really never warmed up to Kaye but, we are willing to continue to try on Brick's behalf because he loves everything she stands for. We will say however that she earned points with us later on in the story, as she to surprised me with her actions and deeds.

I wanted to love, love, this one, but, the story was lacking in some areas that left us wanting more. We understand that this is a continuing plot but, we need to see more action focusing on that plot itself and not just the characters of the current story.

Although I found the story lacking a bit, we loved Brick characters so much because he was so different from what we thought he would be and coming out of prison. Some good, some bad. We loved that he took his punishment and moved on, not holding onto the past with hate and resentment, and wanting a brand-new life with his brothers and the club and the blacktop under the tires of his bike. Will the girl who holds his heart be part of that dream, that remains to been seen. Got to give props to the old ladies of this club, they kept things lively and made us laugh, they are an awesome group of ladies.

Blacktop Freedom was the seventh book in Winter Travers’ Kings of Vengeance MC series.

The story was a continuation of the main MC conflict and will continue throughout the series. Simultaneously, Travers unraveled the backstory between Brick and Detective Kaye.

Brick had recently been released from prison, having been behind bars for five years. Detective Kaye had been his girlfriend at the time but had also been the one to lock him up. Obviously there was tension and hate but also pain. Travers took us through the backstory while also navigating the present and future.

I enjoyed the storyline. But I also wanted more. The MC storyline was building but didn’t really progress much within Blacktop Freedom. However, Travers left us with a big MC cliff hanger so I expect much more in the next book.

All in all, it was a quick and enjoyable read. Ride or Die is up next and I can’t wait to see who is highlighted next.

I just absolutely love this series. It's amazing. But holy shit the end of this book I didn't see that coming at all.
It was kind of a mind fuck.
Second chance at love and Brick is so hot.
I can't wait to read the last book. Ride Or Die comes out in fucking November.

Pretty good... still a lot of typos.... This is Bricks and Kaye's book. Brick and Kaye were together for over a year awhile back. If you've read any of this series then you know Kaye is a cop. Brick wasn't in a MC club back then either.

This book had a lot going on so I was never bored but have lots of questions and hopefully it all will be answered in the next book because it's the last in the series. Better get started on that now

This series just keeps getting better in so many ways. If you like MC romances with humor, suspense, action and romance (not to mention sexy bikers and crazy fun ol’ ladies) then you will LOVE the Kings of Vengeance MC series. Once again Ms. Travers has delivered all the before mentioned in a well written storyline that will have you laughing and sighing throughout.

This is Jax’s story. One I have to admit since the last book I have been waiting for. He’s just been released from prison (yes we get the back story on why) and he’s joined up with his best friend, Quinn, The Prez of the Kings of Vengeance MC. Which also reginites his past with the cop of the club's trail - Kaye. The woman he loved but lost due to his one big mistake that sent him to jail for 5 year.

I loved the banter and thrills in Jax and Kaye’s amazing story. One in which the ol’ ladies are in their usual rare and hilarious form and the rest of the guys are up front and present as well. The book ends in quite the shocker (NOT a cliffhanger) but a shocking twist leading into the next book and this reader can’t wait to find out what happens.

2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars

Another hit keeping me hooked on this series! This book focuses on Jax, who has spent the last five years in jail serving time for someone else at the hands of his girlfriend, Kaye. Kaye struggled with putting her boyfriend in jail, but from what she saw she felt she had no choice and also felt like she didn’t know him. When she finds that he’s out and potentially back to his typical ways, she arrests him as a way to find out what he’s up to and it reignites the relationship and feelings they used to have. Deciding the best course of action is to work together after Jax confides in Kaye about what really happened when she arrested him, the police department and the MC try to take down who’s behind the drugs in town. But when the police chief changes his mind on the partnership with MC, Kaye has to decide on her future with Jax or her career. I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen with this couple, and my heart really felt for Jax when he talked about what really was behind his arrest. I can’t wait to see what happens next for this MC, especially after the explosive ending!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I love this MC series with a dull edge of danger and lots of laughs. Just enough action, danger and suspense with a great group of hunky bikers and crazy ole ladies to keep it entertaining. The gals are a special breed with a unique quirkiness and crazy talk and fun, fun, fun. If you read the series then you know this romance has been in the making for a few books. The newly released felon Brick and cop Kaye are circling each other. She’s been around from the beginning being a thorn in the side of the club. Will Brick tame the gung-ho detective? Their chemistry is hot! There’s a continuing thread of suspense and danger as the Kings are out for vengeance against a rival club. The jaw dropping ending continues the revenge plan until the next book with a traitor in the mix. I can’t wait for the next installment! These MC stories are quick, easy reads with a unique kind of fun that will tickle your funny bone and steamy romances between the hot bikers and feisty women. Loved it!

He kept his mouth shut for family, and paid the price by going to prison, but the woman he loves doesn’t know that. He spent five years paying for the decision he made because he isn’t a snitch, and he lost the one person that made his life brighter in the process. Now he’s out and looking to stay that way, but Jax “Brick” can’t seem to move on from the past and knowing that the police and Kaye are watching his every move waiting for him to mess up again makes it even harder to move on from her.

She was devastated to find out that the man she loved and had spent a year with was not who she thought he was. She was just doing her job that night though. Now that he is out, she is keeping a close eye on him and his friends in the Kings of Vengeance MC. Kaye is determined to find out who is selling drugs in Whitmore, and she has a feeling that the Kings of Vengeance can lead her to them. However, she did not plan on Jax “Brick” rocking her world again after five years apart.

Brick and Kaye are working toward the same goal, but they will both need to talk and clear the air if they want to work together to clean up their town. The Kings of Vengeance are working to clear their town of drugs and the MC that is causing all the trouble, but when they find out that they are being watched closely they have to change their plans completely and then things take another turn. There are a couple of twists and turns in the story that I was not prepared for, but it just made the story that much better. I love the Kings of Vengeance brothers and their women certainly keep them on their toes. Crazy is not even the right word for those women. I was a little disappointed that there was no “book club” meetings in this book, I think adding Kaye to their “book club” can be interesting. I love the characters and the story, and I look forward to Ride or Die next. I give this book a 5-star review, and I hope the next book is out soon. I really need to find out what is going on.

I've known for some time that Winter Travers is simply brilliant, but she leveled up with Blacktop Freedom, and I'll tell you why. See, it's truly a unicorn story when I have the hero's back instead of the heroine, and this story is that unicorn since I wasn't quite happy with Kaye for a cool minute. She & Brick were together when he ended up doing a bid in prison, and she totally wrote him off without even asking why, which isn't surprising since she's the one who put him away. She's a detective who goes by the rules while he's in an MC so what could go wrong?! He gets out, and it ends up to the point that she needs the Kings of Vengeance's help on a case which throws her & Brick together again where the chemistry is just too much despite any rule following she thinks she has to do. They have heat, and then the plot is one that has the twists coming in hot while I was on the edge of my seat with heart racing. And maybe just maybe, Kaye actually got me to change my mind about her but I'll never say so you'll just have to hit those one click buttons! That tease at the end of the book really has me quite curious to the point of impatience but that's just me LOL! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I need more! Brick and Kaye were fabulous, but holy what the what?! So Brick and Kaye had one heck of a past that blew up when the wrong people were witness to the wrong stuff at exactly the wrong time. Now, Brick is back and he’s not sure how to proceed. He and Kaye have to coexist somehow, but could they possibly be more again, or has that ship sailed and sunk at sea?

As for Kaye, she had some decisions to make along the way also. She wants to take down the bad guys and she’s pretty sure the Kings aren’t them, so she needs their help. And that means facing her past and the one man she wishes she could’ve kept as hers. The only real problem is how to rekindle something with that man while keeping her life as intact as possible.

So Brick and Kaye make their way here. They figure out how they went wrong and hope to avoid the pitfalls again. And when the betrayal slaps everyone upside the head, how will everyone make it through? Now I get to sit and wait to find out what the WHAT comes next! Is it really a betrayal or is this the slickest, most secretive move that could possibly be made?

Awesome MC Book
Jax/Brick was sent away for five years for a crime he didn’t commit with his then girlfriend, Kaye being one of the arresting officers. Kaye had thought Jax not only betrayed their relationship but the job she held dear.

Now he’s back in town and loving the blacktop freedom he had missed while away. Kaye is a lead detective on a case of ridding her town of drugs and hopefully the Kings of Vengeance MC especially if they are involved. What a surprise when its Kaye and the Kings who make a deal to draw out the suppliers and possibly the reason a man was missing.

The women with the Kings are hilarious for the lighter side of this book and Jax and Kaye were on fire yet again. With things coming to a head would Kaye be forced to choose between the man she loves or the job she had dreamed of. The chemistry is amazing and the surprises at the end of this book was jaw dropping. I need more of this series now!!

Winter Travers did it again. Good addition to the series. Brick (Jax) is recently released from jail and back at the Kings of Vengeance clubhouse. His ex Kaye, who’s a detective, played a part in putting him away for 5 years. They have to put up with each other as they live in the same town and the cops are always watching out for them, and not in a good way. Neither one had forgotten the other in all those years. Her because she thought he betrayed her and the job she stands for. Him because she did what she had to do. They reconnect and Kaye needs to make some tough choices. It’s either Brick or the job. She chooses him. He’s just thankful that they did reconnect and someday he can have his blacktop freedom again. Left you wanting more from the book, but did not expect this ending to the book. Not really a cliffhanger, but a shock to the system. Now I can’t wait for more.

Ngl, I struggled with this one a bit. I love Brick, and I love learning his story and , but it took some time for me to start liking Kaye (sorry).

The problem I have with this one is that the story focuses only on the main characters involved. The big drama with the rival and the drug case were pushed to the back burner, so the main plot of the series barely got any highlights when we could've gotten more happening (with Kaye being a cop and all, you'd think we'd be getting somewhere). But nothing really happened until we're suddenly thrust back into it in the final chapter.

I enjoyed reading the book as a fast read, but I just don't love it as much as I do with the other books.

Jax & Kaye

She's a cop and played a part in his five years in jail. Now he's out. They aren't together but need to work with the club to end another club that is selling drugs in the town. The kings don't do or want drugs sold in their town. As they are forced together will old feelings sneak in? And what about their jointly owned dog? Gonna love that scene.

Will they be able to combine their past and future with the lives they live?

If you've read other books in the series you'll love seeing the couples and the ole ladies together. If not it will be fun to meet them. While not super straight the club is a good group and wants what is good for their town--any club selling drugs is NOT good for it.

Great characters, steam, history, and futures, with surprises good and bad. A great read not to be missed.

After finding himself a victim of circumstance Brick is glad to have to finally have his freedom back after five long years. He has been welcomed back by the MC, but will he receive the same reception from Kaye, his ex-girlfriend who works in law enforcement, especially when they find themselves working together?

Since Brick was arrested, she has focused all her attention on her career but once the truths of the past are revealed their feelings for each other overcome the pain of the past, but will she need to choose between her career and the man who has always owned her heart?

Captivating characters, intrigue and surprises you don’t see coming leave you wanting more of this series. It was great to see the camaraderie between the members of the MC and their family as they prove once again they are always there for each other.

Great addition to the Kings of Vengeance MC series. Brick has been released from prison and has met up with the Kings of Vengeance. Kaye is a cop and had a past with Brick. She also had a part in sending him to prison for a 5 year sentence. There is another club in town who are selling drug. Kaye and the Kings need to work together to rid their town of the dealers. While trying to rid their town of the drugs, past issues between them come to light and they also realize that they both have missed each other. Can they overcome the past and move forward to have their happy ever after? Winter Travers will pull you into the story with action, suspense, love and the ole ladies with their crazy antics. OMG the ending will leave you wanting more of the Kings Of Vengeance! Can't wait to see what happens next in this series.

Continuation of the conflict that is still going on In the plot so if you haven’t picked up the others please so do now. Thank you.

Now this book unraveals the love, hate, and pain between Brick and Kaye. Oh did I say love. Did I also mention that Kaye is also detective Kaye and the one that put her boyfriend behind that just happened to be Brick. Crazy. Drama. Soap opera filled intense right. I know. Now thankfully do we get to see how the future plays out but we get to see what happened with the past.

There is nothing worse then an author that doesn’t give you any kind of backstory. I feel like they were perfect couple to be right there in the line of stories and I can’t wait to see who is next.

This is the 7th book in this phenomenal series and is Jax and Kaye’s story. Jax is recently released from prison after serving a 5-year sentence, and Kaye is a detective who was his girlfriend at the time, and it was her that arrested him. Kaye learns that Jax is free, and when they cross paths again, their relationship reignites. This is a well written flawless story which is emotionally charged, and with crazy antics from the ol’ ladies, and is action packed, humorous, with tension, vengeance, conflict, heartbreak, suspense, twists, emotions, witty banter, and love, which leads to a heartfelt and entertaining riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this gifted author whose work I always highly recommend.

To really get the full effect of this series, they have to be read in order. The issues the MC has are a running theme throughout the series, and they all just sort of flow into each other. Now, I'm not going to get into the story too much, don't want to spoil anything. I will say that I really did enjoy this story, getting to learn Brick's story and how the whole him and Kaye thing happened. I do feel that while this was a really good story, it was also just the build up story. Like in a TV series, the episode where nothing major happens but it's setting the scene for the next episode where the big things will happen. The next story is going to be HUGE, I feel it! I give this 4 stars.

A continuation of the story of the Kings and how they take care of their own. Kaye and Jax reunite after the 5 years of separation when she sent him to prison and they both suffered the loneliness that that one action led to. Being in on a task together brings them back to that day that changed both their lives and they each discover that they did what they had to do and in order to move forward they talk out their feelings and put their emotions behind them.
Nice story and loads of feelings that are relatable with these characters.
The family of Kings in the background continue to support the lightness of the story.
Very enjoyable.

Brick's Back!

Ok, so Brick (aka Jax) actually has been in prison since before the Kings were formed, but it feels like he fit right in with the guys.

He & Kaye have some things to work thru before their HEA, and he puts in the effort to show her he never stopped loving her. Happily, despite everything that happened in the past, she never stopped loving him, either!!

We get to see some shenanigans from the ol' ladies & the guys are still working diligently on getting the strip club set up. I still love this series, but I'm truly worried about the next one! The tease - you know I love this author's teasers for the next story!! This one had me shouting "Noooo!" tho...

Brick has done his time and is now a free man, well mostly free. He’s a felon and on parole so he’s as free as he can be.

Kaye has worked hard to accomplish her dream of becoming a police detective, she even let her boyfriend be arrested without talking to him to find out why he was a part of her undercover operation. 5 years later, she’s not sure what to do or think, he’s come back and joined the local motorcycle club just when drugs have turned up in their town.

I love this series and this author. I found that after what they had been through, the get back together was fast, but how long should the book be to make it seem right? I don’t like when a book is dragged out either, so there is that. The ending pulled the rug right out from under me, and I don’t know what to do with it, but I can’t wait for the next book to be released to find out how that is going to play out. Winter Travers is an amazing author and whether this is the best book she’s ever written is not the issue here, it’s part of a series and these two characters have a role to play in the big picture. 4 stars.

Blacktop Freedom is Brick/Jax and Kaye's story it's an excellent addition to this series. Brick is a member of Kings of Vengeance MC and just got out of prison and Kaye Crew is his former girlfriend, she's also a cop. Their journey is rocky at best. Things aren't always what they seem though, and when Kaye finds that out and it could possibly change everything. Tough decisions have to be made and with that comes changes for everybody. Lots of things are left up in the air and the Kings have a long road ahead of them trying to take care of a problem that's moved into their town.

Brick and Kaye

Blacktop Freedom is a another hit for Travers. I absolutely loved Jax aka Brick. I loved his and Kaye's banter, more drama unfolds in the Kings of Vengeance clubhouse. The old ladies are still up to their silly antics, Kimber is having " the Heir" and Deedra decides back patio furniture needs to be bought out in November. I just love the old lady's of KOV. The ending was a dozy I did not see coming.. talk about twist in the storyline. Now I have to wait patiently for Ride or Die. Happy Reading!

I just absolutely love this series! Jax and Kaye did not disappoint. I love their second chance, that deep connection that never wavered even with their ups and downs. The story had me smiling, laughing, gasping, and loving it all. I love getting to check back in with all the brothers and their ol ladies, the quirks and shenanigans, along with the serious moments that work so well together. In true Winter Travers fashion, I'll be on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book in this amazing series!

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Blacktop Freedom takes us on another ride with the Kings of Vengeance where the air is cleared, secrets are revealed and Brick finally gets what he has been wishing for over the past five years. Kaye and Bricks have scorching chemistry and the banter between these two is addictive. The ol ladies are still a riot and say the funniest things to have you laughing out loud. There is more drama, mayhem and plans to have you on the edge of your seat. However be prepared for the ending as you will not see this coming.

Blacktop Freedom is an intriguing story about a lovable couple. Jax and Kaye may have lost each other once, but they never truly let go of each other. Jax is a loyal guy who only wants to protect those he loves and it’s unfortunate that he had to pay the price. Kaye may be a cop that stays on the straight and narrow, but even she had to make a choice regarding her forever. Now I’m hanging on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens in the next book. Until then, I’ll be dreaming of riding on the back of Jax’s bike forever!

Ok wow Blacktop Freedom was super intense I didn't want to put my kindle down , this is book seven in the Kings of Vengeance series you can't read as a standalone I feel like if you didn't know what was going on in the first books you will be very confused with some minor spoilers . I love this series it keeps the reader on the edge of there seat and you don't want to stop till reach the end . The characters are interesting I always like the way the author makes some unlikable characters likable . I can't wait to read what's to come by the author .
