Very helpful book with tips from conception to birth. It gives a good overview of the big things to think of while bringing up the smaller details that might be missed.
okay lots of good tips in here but there are already so many to do list items in my brain this is just so overwhelming. like who actually wants 350 more ideas of things to do to prepare for a baby?
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a very informative and helpful guide for all pregnant women. I liked that everything is basically covered in this book, even the smallest and most insignificant (or at least for now) things in our life.
Very cool book with lots and lots of tips related to pregnancy that helps you from the beginning to the big day. It's a great companion and it's a fun book to read. I'm writing down some of this tips since I'm ttc. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review
3.5 stars - Probably should've read this one by physical book, as it would've been more digestible vs. listening to 30+ tips per dog walk listening session. Still, there were some practical pieces of advice. I liked that it is still very new/recently published, so felt more relatable for a first-time, working-from-home, millennial parent than some of the pregnancy books I've looked at. I disliked that there were many "hacks" that were more so for people of relative privilege (i.e. having the ability to work from home, or easily take time off for doc appts, or buying all new clothes, etc.) that would not make the book as applicable for a lot of moms out there.
I found this on Kindle Unlimited - and as I have not read any other pregnancy books; this seemed like a less intimidating one to pick. The book itself, is split into the three trimesters, with hints for both the women and partner. It was a very easy to read, and the format I enjoyed. However, some of the tips were downright daft - and appeared to be included just to add to the 350+ on the cover. Some, however, were mentioned by friends who have since given birth. Whilst I would of loved a few more practical tips - such as what in the mountain of baby stuff is actually useful; I did learn a bit.
I really didn't care for this book....maybe it is because I have been pregnant five times already, but most of these seemed pretty obvious. Also, some were kind of strange to me, such as ways to make it look like you are drinking when out with friends, when you really aren't, because you are pregnant. I'm not the target audience since I do not drink and have never "hidden" a pregnancy, but it just seemed really odd to me. I found some other tips to be more applicable, but I didn't find anything new. However, I am sure would appeal more to some people, especially if this is their first pregnancy, and it is written in a very easy to understand and concise manner.
Eh. Mostly a bunch of stuff I already knew. Good if you've lived under a rock all your life, I guess. I imagine even first-time moms are going to be saying, "Huh?" Just stick with a standard pregnancy book (it's got the cool pictures!), and skip this one.
Some good reminders, but many aren't going to apply to a significant number of people (lots of space taken up by workplace tips), and it's focused only on hospital and surgical births.
Good book but I would not recommend finishing it in one sitting, as you might feel overwhelmed with all the info and the things that you have to do by the third trimester.
What I liked about the book: - Easy to read - Helpful - Separated into relevant sections - Sections for the husband - Some parts I took note of, others a refresher of things to think about
What I didn't like about the book: - Too millennial - Will date quickly - Things about selfie positions, announcing on FB etc I found a little ridiculous - Don't feel fully prepared by this book
