Everyone craves them, but few have the resolution to go through.
And yet John decided to live as a mortal.
For his wife, for his daughter.
He was willing to give up everything to achieve peace and avoid what he had already suffered in the past.
But peace is temporary.
How long can it be maintained?
Enjoy this seventh issue of “The Idle System”, just a step away from the last book in the series. If you are ever to live life in another world, you might want to learn what John has to offer.
This series is awesome! Though I have to say..... F*** that ending... The ending pretty much ticked me off. I hope that there is HEA or at least that things aren't as bad as they could be. Was interesting reading about the daughter.
A great book I hope the universe continues in other books. I highly recommend this book to any litRPG fan though definitely read all the previous books in order first I very much enjoyed it and think it's an excellent book and I'm sad to hear that there's only one book left hopefully you'll continue the universe great work and awesome story.
Loved seeing Kelley's life. Uhhh time travel is hard. Time paradox anyone. Though it was a great review of the previous books. Can't wait for the last book in the series. It better be a happy ending!
Another great addition to the idle story. I look forward to seeing exactly where you take the final book. If you enjoy the first six then you will enjoy this book as well
This book had a good amount of interesting information where so many little things were explained and tied together in a way that actually made sense!
... And then we spend over half of the story with no meaningful progress for John and no real purpose come out of the ending. I know it’s a setup for book 8, but what the hell? I feel like the wait for this book was a mistake because of the ending, I should have just waited for book 8.
Absolute nonsense. Half the book is a flimsy recap of the series in the laziest way possible.
On top of that, none of the time travel even vaguely makes sense. For example, he has to go back in time to help his past end up at his current future... that makes sense if it’s a loop and he’d already gone back, but there’s never a why did he go back the first time - why did he need to go back to help himself cross over as a Sider? That plot point means that he couldn’t have crossed over originally because he wouldn’t have been a Sider yet to help himself cross over, and yet here we are... and most of the rest of it was going back to help random people cross over who he’d never met on Earth previously, so if he never met them and they couldn’t cross over without his help, why did he go bring them over in the first place??
Enjoyed the first six, won’t be reading the eighth after this disaster.

I'm really not sure how to take this book. For the most part, it appears to be a tying up of loose ends for the series, but as you approach the end, there's a promise of another book, which makes me wonder. We're told there's going to be some surprise in the next/last book in the series. I suppose I'll hand around for that, but if this one had been handled just slightly differently, it could easily have been the final book in the series, and for some readers, this book will be disappointing, since there's really nothing to expand the scope of the story, with the exception of the thread about earth itself. All other threads are just closing down all the remaining storylines from the previous books. No idea what the big reveal will be in the next book, but I guess that's why we read books, to enjoy the story, so ....
This review is not generic, I am making this point or suggestions for readers who have come so far after book 6 in this series. In short give it a try without putting much weight to any of the reviews either good or bad. Because if you go in with expectations from good reviews you'll disappoint by the high expectations. If you miss out on reading the book because of the bad reviews you'll definitely miss on the good parts that made you love this series and pull you in this far, which is there without prejudice clouding your opinion.
I found that most times I love or hate a book based on my mindset with which I approached it. So I always read a book before the reviews, as long as I have loved even one of the books from that author. So, enjoy the book on your own terms. Have fun
I've read this series for sometime, rather enjoyed it, good systems, differences needed to keep you engaged, op mc who wasn't compete yet had someone to goad him on to be better, a enemy work being his enemy.. loved it. And then this book... So much potential, and the way it was handled left me feeling like a physical copy wouldn't even be good enough to wipe a bums buttocks clean after he ate week old taco Bell... If you give up on writing something I can understand but no need to do this.. if there is more I really really hope the author redeems this story.
Pegaz managed to craft another story that I eagerly enjoyed. Reading as some plot holes be filled was interesting. I had hoped for more action scenes though, and the final part did make me chuckle as it felt as though reading a couple of kids playing superhero. Nevertheless I enjoyed the story very much and this series as a whole.
This book has a few good moments, but for the most part it does not satisfy. There are large sections that are expository and lack any kind of true storytelling. The whole book feels like a badly written deus ex machina type plot device. Hopefully the next book is better
