I love this series. It's nothing groundbreaking, but it's hot, the characters are gorgeous, and Kamishiro is so protective. He takes such good care of Miku, who herself is strong and determined, even in her naivety.
I'm still enjoying the story for this one, but it feels like it's progressing slowly. It's very much a slow-burn vibe, but I'm enjoying how each character is definitely starting to feel more for the other.
Still very mild spicy, I'd give it 0.5 🌶️ (spicy system written in my bio).
Weird detail in the front cover that Miku is distantly related to who she's training to be mistress for makes me reconsider things. Hopefully it's a translation snafu, and not blood/family related. I like that Miku and the butler go out for drinks but it's odd to jump time from where vol. 1 ended. Didn't they do more? Why is it a week between seeing each other? What is he reporting to the boss? Of course I suspect he'll be the son of the benefactor, but then that makes the opening note even more incesty.
This issue I'm hoping to learn more about her father and his debts. It keeps coming up but we haven't even seen him to know he's worth doing all this for. It was a bit off for him not to criticize how hastily she drinks the booze, let alone spills it. She says he's being gentler than before but their actions and expressions are often drawn the opposite. She/the author really needs to work on her faces. Too often she looks like she's stepped on glass. Besides outfits, the author draws cartoon fluffy cats really cute/distinct.
The second ch had me thinking I'm reading a dif manga. All of a sudden she was in a construction site...locker room? And then clichély attacked. It's like it's impossible for manga not to have attempted rape w/ cheesy one-liners and a girl who doesn't lift a finger to stop it. Really disappointing and confusing. Before I thought--and after she said--she would've let him if he had money, so I also don't get why she didn't just tell him later. Also, he implied he knows her family so isn't that gonna cause problems twofold now?
The butler doesn't look or act as much like himself, the smut is all the same as last issue. You can never tell where they are. Higher stakes would be had if someone walked in on them behind the pub or in her house. I doubt stuff like that will happen, there's always so many plotty things left on the table. Ironically, what saves this issue is the sneak peak of the author's other work Teach Me.
Miku may be working herself too hard in her desperation while also potentially dangerously falling for her teacher. Kamishiro is difficult to read with his stoic personality, but he has moments where he seems to go above and beyond like he actually does care. Still yet to meet this supposedly rich master who is interested in Miku, though she has a pretty close call that of course Kamishiro shows up for. The side story with Rei is more than a little confusing and lacks any context with the rest of the main story other than some similarities in how the men handle their women.

Staying firmly in the 3.75/5 category. It's not bad but it's also very surface level. The transition is going about how I figured it would, though I would like a little More interaction from them that isn't just "training."
3.5 it's not as graphic in this one but more actual plot based. I did enjoy how the two are becoming closer. Tho not as exciting as the first book in the series. looking forward to the next installment tho.
Enjoyed this more than the first volume surprisingly. Really went in on the he cares about her to the point where he can be angry at her if she doesn’t take care of her trope.
I just Cannot with this series anymore. There was a point in this volume where she had intentionally turned off her phone so that he couldn’t GPS track her, but then when he shows up anyway and reveals he’s been stalking her all day, she’s touched! 😵💫 The premise of this one had sounded mildly interesting, but the execution is driving me up the wall. No thanks.
It started off entertaining but I ended up not caring for the story. The fml is too childish and randomly gets attacked by men too much in the story. A lot of romance manga can be like this but this one just has stop much going on at the beginning of the story.
