Xander Cole’s usually steady discipline is fraying at the edges without a focal point -- someone who needs the kind of care the former Army Ranger longs to give. When he spots the sweet barista on his caffeine run, he knows she’s exactly the spark he needs to regain control.
Life is tough for an extrovert with social anxiety and attention issues. Miri’s doing the best she can to hold herself together, but when she gets overwhelmed, the tattooed blond hottie proves to be a strong shelter. This warrior with a wounded heart teaches her that she doesn’t have to do it all herself, and there’s strength in a yielding heart.
Silke Campion writes hot, flirty, sweet and dirty romances featuring heroes who will gladly take control to ensure their heroines get their Happy Ever After.
She’s been married to her own military hero for over twenty-five years, living and loving through dozens of cross-country and international moves with their two children and a menagerie of dogs and cats. Now they’re settled back in the US where -- when she’s not head-down writing -- she contemplates the serious issues of what to make for dinner with the ridiculous amount of basil she grows in her herb garden, what cocktail will go with it, and what cross-stitch project she’s starting next.
2,75 It was okay. I wouldn't have made the same decisions that the main character made (going to live with a guy you just met and he seems to be a bit too controlling and possessive isn't something, or even just inviting him to your house just minutes after knowing him). But I liked the writing style and the smut was good. I'll forget that I ever read this within the next months, but it was good enough to not consider it to be a waste of time. If you're into romantic erotica, I would recommend this for you. It's short and good enough that you'll not regret reading it.
Normally I am not a big fan of insta-love but Ms. Campion has made a believer out of me with this one. Wonderful writing, beautifully fleshed out multi-layered characters the reader wants to know more about as well as CARE about. And somehow, for me, as quickly as our Hero/heroine come together, I found it sweet, romantic & perfect. A lovely loving story with an awesome former military Hero who finds a sweet precious heroine to be 'his' to protect, care for & love. A perfect blend of romance & a spicy dash of sizzle. This one warmed my heart in the best way & left me smiling & happy.
A new series of ex-Army Rangers who all retire and move to the same town. They have kept their hierarchy from the military days within the group who all run a custom auto shop. It seems all the guys are Doms and prefer submissive women. Xander has been feeling out of sorts lately and is having a very bad morning, after hurting his knuckles on an engine one to many times his boss tells him to go for a ride to clear his head. After is ride he spots a coffee shop in town and stops in. There he meets Miri, his spark, the barista, he is immediately attracted to her, she spies him near the door and is equally attracted. Miri suffers from ADD and anxiety, when Xander asks her what she likes to order she freezes up and starts to cry, just a reaction she gets when overwhelmed. Xander knows what to do to calm her right down and she finds such comfort in his arms. Her boss, who is awesome, let’s her head home, Xander takes her to her house. They’ve kissed a few times and once inside her home they enjoy sexy times including D/s roles which Miri enjoys with him. The sexy spanking and commands help focus her and show her how much he cares for her, she is his spark, what he was looking for to fulfill his life. I love yous, a marriage proposal, and he moves her into his house. Epilogue six months later with all the guys loving Miri and the sunshine she brings to their friend and their group. Can’t wait to read the other Ranger’s books

Could've sworn I'd already reviewed,,, but apparently not... soooo anyway!
I've always been a hopeless romantic - always loved with everything that I have, cried at sappy movies, all that lovey dopey stuff - and yet, I've never been been a big fan of insta-love for some reason - until NOW, with Silke! Between finally finding my own soulmate and experiencing that instant "You're Mine, I love you," and the little sprinkles of kink/BDSM scattered through this baby, I was in love with Xander and Miri by chapter 3!
Miri reminds me so much of little ol' me, it's not even funny! With her little anxiety ridden self and being the little ball of chaotic sunshine in Xander's otherwise organized and routine life 🥺🤣
And Xander, sweet precious Xander. He needs a big ol' hug - one of my magic ones 🥺🤗🤣 Silke, can I give him a hug? Gimme all your mens for about a week so I can give them all hugs 🤷♀️🤣🤣
You outdid yourself again, babes, and I already can't wait for more! Keep 'em coming! Love ya 😘
This short story is the start of a series and shows the instant connection between Xander and Miri. There is a strong bond between them as well as respect and the need to care for one another. I liked them as a couple but wish I could have seen more of their relationship unfolding, although I did like the examples given in the epilogue of how she had settled into her new life and with her new family.

This was the first book I have read by this author. I loved how relatable as well as realistic Miri and Xander are. In the beginning Miri is afraid to show her emotions. She suffers from not only anxiety but ADD as well. She gets overwhelmed easily and it's not any different when she meets Xander. It is then you see how calming he is for Miri. This is definitely an instalove book and there is some light BDSM. I recommend this book.
Wow, Her Hero is short and HOT! I love Xander's complete focus on Miri the moment he spots her. He is so sweet and kind to her when she gets overwhelmed. The intensity between them, the crazy chemistry consumes them and when all is said and done, connected and whole. I devoured this and cheered that I found a new author to follow! Do yourself a favor and check out this bite sized sexy romance. 5 stars for Her Hero!
Sexy, steamy, and sweet. it is a short well throughout and very well written. You come to know the characters in a very short time, but you feel like you know them instantly. The steamy scenes are are perfectly written to the point you wish you were the main girl in the story.
A short and sweet insta-love story with plenty of heat. I enjoyed Xander a lot. He was definitely and alpha type who required control and Miri was just the lovely subby girl to do it. Overall, a nice quick read that packed a little punch.
It started off well but then it lost the storyline for me. I would have loved to have actually learned something about the female main character. Someone else may love this book but it missed the mark for me.
An awesome, steamy read! This is a short story or novella but the full story is there and complete with a steamy alpha male who loves the heroine just right! Great read!
I love The Brothers in Arms series! These books have a little sweetness, a little protective and dominant male, and a whole lot of steam! This is a great short read with a lot of feels.
This may of been a short story which I really loved. I loved Xander & Miri’s story. They had an instant connection. Their story was steamy, sweet and it kept me turning the pages. Great start to a series.
I liked the story. Characters, especially Xan was a bit of a control freak, but likeable. Midi was vulnerable and conflicted but likeable as well. I would have liked the story to be longer to develop the characters more and the relationship with the others in the group.
A short story on lust on first sight and Insta love. It’s hot steamy and right to the point. A man who knows what he wants as soon as he sees it and a woman who accepts it. Sweet, short, hot and easy!
This is the second book I have read from this author. With different story lines but a similar feel through both, they were both equally as enjoyable. The Steamy scenes are very well written and certainly gain the correct response. I will definitely be keeping my eyes out for any other work from Silke Campion.
I'm a huge fan of insta love stories and this one was full of insta love ! I loved Xan he's Alpha to the core which is exactly what Mira needed. Great start to a new series and Author for me .
This is a quick but great read. I loved the interactions between Miri and Xander. I am looking forward to reading more by this author. Xander is feeling out of sorts and goes for a ride. On his way back into town, he stops at a coffee shop and his life changes for the better. Miri has social anxiety and ADD. She sometimes has a hard time with people. Xander is impressed with her and will do anything to help her out. Will they find happiness together?

Her Hero (Brothers in Arms #1) by Silke Campion – This was a freebie series starter, and its is on kindle unlimited. Xander was having one of those days he shouldn’t have gotten out of bed for when his boss and former commanding officer tells him to take a drive and clear his head. Walking into a coffee shop to get the caffeine fix he had been denied, he falls in love at first sight. (Trigger eyeroll). Eyeroll notwithstanding, I have a kindle unlimited date with the rest of this platoon! Happy Reading!
Not for me. Maybe if it had been a big longer but because it was only a few pages there just wasn’t time for what happened to be even remotely realistic. I don’t mind a bit of instant love, but this was too much for me. The bdsm elements just seemed silly since they happened not even an hour after they met. I knew it was a short story, but this was even shorter than I expected.
This is a well written BDSM story with great characters. This is the first book I have read but it will not be the last. This was a quick easy read for me. I think you will enjoy this one, I did. Please remember this is a BDSM story so if that isn't something you read this one isn't for you. I would encourage everyone to go get this one.
A short instalove romance. The male character is a bit overbearing and the female character is a bit of a mess, but together they work. If you're craving a short, sweet read with the heat, this is it.
