Ah this book was a sweet treat for me when I started studying in Development Studies. All the chapters touch so many dimensions of development that you will more or less achieve an overall idea about what development really is. I still remember how furious I was to learn about the colonial experience in my subcontinent haha. A Must Read ❣️
Such a complete textbook. Very dense on many subjects, this gives a GLOBAL perspective, which is key. The glossary at the end is also extremely helpful to keep up with concepts and important information to retain throughout. Tip: keep track of all the abbreviations, THERE ARE MANY to remember and it does get overwhelming.
I had to read this for my degree in Development and it was a perfect way to start my first year. This textbook has all the basic information you would need to learn about key development issues as well as see new sources of information if you want to expand on certain topics!
