The weary battle with my waistline led me to search for a diet I can stick with over the long-term. The Insta algorithm caught on, and recommended videos of this informative dietitian named Devika, who discusses macros in an easy way.

So I purchase her book to help achieve my health goals, and in 1 month, I'm noticing positive results! Though I haven't hit my target goal, I am happy to see I've dropped 4 pounds over the past 4 weeks.

More to come, but one big change is that my energy levels are up because of the tasty recipes. I love how it's double-packed with proteins! Her book helped me calculate macros and I learned that in the past, I was eating too much fat and not enough protein.

Though I haven't been totally consistent with her 2-week meal plan, I can definitely see this macro life as something I can stick with over the long-term! (2-week meal plan should be used as a guide while you adjust portions to your eating patterns).

I'm vegetarian, so I will sometimes substitute a meat recipe with a tofu or bean protein, and the recipes are still tasty! I wish I had learned about macros earlier in my life.

If you haven't done macros, then I recommend this book! 👍🏽

I received a copy of this book directly from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I was impressed by Macro Cookbook For Beginners by Devika Sharma. The books presented science-based nutrition broken down into easily digestible facts. The photography and design of the book were gorgeous and well-organized.

Unlike a lot of cookbooks that are diet-based, a lot of the recipes are tasty, easy to follow, and more importantly, contain readily accessible ingredients that most people will already have on-hand - or at the very least, can obtain easily. This book didn't feel restrictive or scolding about what the reader eats, but instead, encouraging.

Overall, I think if you are looking to eat healthier in an accessible way, this would be a good place to start.

Reading this book because my boyfriend wants to adapt our diet so that he can gain muscles. Haven’t tried a recipe yet, but loved the nutritional information at the beginning of the book. All recipes seem tasty and accessible. Minus one star because recipes do not have pictures.
