A lovely finale to the second wave of Unicorn Academy that focuses on trusting not only ourselves but trusting the capabilities and kindness of others too and brings together all the stories of this collection.
Isla has so far not found the magical powers nor bonded with her Unicorn Buttercup despite their strong friendship, this may be due to the case that Isla is terribly lacking in self belief, to the point where she avoids situations unless she know she will succeed.
When Buttercup suddenly comes into her powers, Isla is so worried that she embarrasses her by doubting her ability. But Isla needs to learn to take risks especially with Ms Willow on the loose.
This is a lovely story about believing in those you care about and yourself but also that others value you too, even when you don’t believe it yourself.

I was confused at the start when I read Rosa and Crystal, because there was no Isla in their dorm. Well, now I understand- Isla is in a different dorm, but is included in the adventure. I like how Isla and Buttercup have different personalities (Isla is shy and quiet, Buttercup is loud and funny) and then they realize that being different makes them stronger.
The pictures are great (especially the front cover, because Buttercup looks great) and I liked how Valentina helped everyone!

I liked Isla and Buttercup because they are a good team to capture Ms Willow.
Also, I liked them because they are good friends with their friends.
Isla is good friends with the Ruby Dorm and the Diamond Dorm.

Read this with my 9yo and she gave it 5 stars for the satisfying resolution, because it deviated from the formula of prior books in the series, and the theme of teamwork. She also loved that Buttercup was a silly unicorn (I did a Southern accent for her part).
