Excellent little tale about a boy getting laid in high school and the eventual excitement of belatedly sharing the details with a good buddy. Fascinating last few pages telling the details, feeling the good feeling again and simultaneously describing a ball game.

This is an interesting, quick read. The story itself is common enough, but Dawson's free hand with accurately describing the anxieties, confusion, and outright lust of your average young American boy make it intriguing, sometimes lurid, and endearing.

Fielding is one of those great lost writers. The Greatest Story Ever Told is of the same genre as Catcher in the Rye and Separate Peace, but only better.
