Times of Change

It wasn’t right that Tatum Roloff had two different colored eyes, the strength and height of a male shifter, the beauty and sensitivity of a female shifter, and the brains and bravery to match any alpha. None of it mattered because wolf shifter rules had not bound her family for seven years. The Blackwater Pack had been slaughtered, forcing what was left of her family into the human world. She learned to protect and provide for the males in her life. But after her youngest brother threatened to leave her to find a pack of his own, she decided the time had come for them to go back to their roots. She was finally going to stop playing the dominant role in her family and would have a chance to find her true mate. To her chagrin, the packs of West Virginia were withering away with no help in sight. But after explaining a beneficial plan to the alpha, Tatum found herself in turmoil and thrown into a male role again. The two brothers who served as the betas had opposite opinions regarding females helping lead the pack. Cade hated her, and Luke maybe loved her. Love is hard when things are easy, but it was even more complicated when she hadn’t played by the rules. Will Tatum learn how to lead the shifters and hold onto love, or will she fail and lose it all? Hello Times of Book 1 in the Times Series is about a strong female wolf shifter with a brave heart, a forgotten past, and a loving family who learned to survive in the human world. She resolved to help shifter kind while trying to find happiness. Throughout the book Times of Change, Tatum Roloff touches many lives, and you get to follow all the lives that she influences. Some difficult times are up ahead. Will Tatum be able to save the shifter race? Adult content and language. HEA

i think this was super fun! I was expecting reverse harem haha. Instead I got a really unique and fun shifter romance. This hit a lot of different emotions for me I didn't expect and I really liked it. I cannot wait for the second book.. there will be a second yes??!! please? I think this was a really good paranormal book that hit sadness, friendship, fear, love and so much more.

TIMES OF CHANGE is the first book in the Times series and we start the story with Tatum doing her best to provide for her family. They have all suffered a horrific event which has led Tatum fulfilling both the traditional male and female roles. This is something she is not comfortable with. Although taller and more muscular than most males, she longs to be taken care of and cherished by someone more dominant than herself. Unfortunately, those are few and far between.

This is more of a family saga than a 'normal' PNR. For a start, we catch up with other couples as the story progresses, both new and old. The rules and regulations the wolves live by are different to those in other books which made for an interesting read.

It is a long book, with plenty of different storylines to keep your attention. I thoroughly enjoyed it apart from one thing - Tatum. She is incredibly interesting, and I loved her most of the time, but her constant harping on about being different, more masculine, more dominant, yada, yada, yada, just became too much. I get it, I really do. I don't need it hammering into my head every couple of pages. And the whole mental drop out at the end was intriguing. I can't wait to see where this goes in the next book.

Definitely recommended for those who want something to sink their teeth into.

Even though I am not a big fan of fantasy fiction, Time of Change is an emotional roller coaster that trapped me within the pages till the end. The storyline is amazing and captivating. The author B.L.Dawn has blended multiple sentiments using different writing paces to give the reader; a heart-racing reading experience.
I love the whole love story of Tatum and Luke from the beginning to the end. This reminds me of teenage love.
“This tempting steaming male made her want to swoon in weakness. With every fiber of her being, she wanted to belong to him ”
I was enraptured by the romance and luscious scenes that give a cinematic experience to the reader. My favorite scene is the very first day that Luke fell in love with Tatum. The intrinsic writing pattern is entertaining and appealing. Thus, the readers will not get bored during the read.
There are plenty of characters engaged in the story and the character development is excellent. I believe the author made an excellent masterpiece for those who are willing to enjoy a fantasy romance.

4.5 STARS! This book is an immersive start into a series revolving around a central heroine Tatum Roloff. The series mostly features Tatum and her story arc, but it also jumps into different point of views as it follows her brothers, and the other shifters and characters she meets, in her journey to find a pack, and to find herself.

The story starts with a bit of a prologue feel as Tatum relates what has happened to throw her, a shifter, into living most of her adult life in the human world. In this world, Shifters live only with Shifters in packs, usually in pretty remote locations. This Shifter hierarchy is also male dominated, which as a reader, was a little tough to take, in particular at the beginning of the book as you see Tatum as a bit of a blank canvas that has only self-sacrificed for the males in her life. It’s a bit frustrating that she hasn’t done much for herself (her brothers have hobbies and pursuits like karate and college, she does not). She won’t listen to her much wiser younger brother Eli (who I loved and can’t wait to see more of in continuing books) when he tells her she isn’t doing enough for herself. So, for me, it was a little tough to connect with Tatum at the beginning of the book.

However, this book is called TIMES OF CHANGE for a reason, so you know things are coming in this series, and it will be exciting to see Tatum realize her potential and that the way things are now, does not mean that this is the way it should be. Hints of it occur in this book and you KNOW more is coming.

The story really zipping at about the 25% mark when they start searching for a pack to join. Tatum likes living in the human world, but none of them have ever fit in and she realizes they need a pack. So, a pack they find. A lot of interesting and fun characters join up with Tatum and her family (brothers Eli and James, and Great Grandfather) and the twists and turns start from there, with conflict building at every step.

You may be surprised with each chapter turn to see who gets a POV. Once I let go of the "traditional idea of a romance novel" and realized this was a totally different experience, I found this really cool. As the pack builds, you get to see how things are going from different people’s perspectives, you get to see other relationships that form. And some of the POV's that are given... may they be hints that this person may be featured with their own romance in a future book?

If you are a fated mate trope fan, enjoy Shifters, and enjoy immersive large expanse stories, you will really enjoy this book. It isn’t a traditional romance because in addition to the central female main character romance you are going to get multiple romances, multiple POV’s and lots of different interconnecting characters in a fleshed-out Shifter Pack world. It’s fresh and interesting!

I’m reading this book at the request of the Author I received a free copy and I am leaving an honest review.
From the start, the reader is introduced to Tatum, not your ordinary female shifter, as she has taken on being the worker and caregiver in the family. Her family torn apart by an attack on her pack, leaving her and her two younger brothers on their own with an aging family member. The author has a fantastic description of their living situations and her damage. We met her brother Eli pretty fast, and I found it intriguing that he signed instead of talking. I love how the author actually got into why he uses sign language. The family bond is solid, and the reader views that very early in the book. Her brother James as well is introduced, and some of the family pack qualities were intriguing. This book has some exciting twists and turns. I love that author wrote the packs from a non-thriving perspective, unlike the regular super-strong packs but rather the one or all the ones they find are not doing well. Tatum is different and only wants two things a pack and a mate. I loved watching her being a strong female. Eventually, she does get what she wants, but I won't ruin the book for you. The twists and turns to get there and progressive ideas indeed were an interesting read. She comes across as caring, strong, and protective of her family. I loved that she took her role in the pack and made a difference for others. The story was different from my standard wolf shifter books but enjoyable all the same. The author doesn't follow the everyday shifter book style or information, making this even more enjoyable. However, the author did leave some topics hanging with her main characters that I would have loved to see the resolution in this book. I would love to know if those topics would have a resolution in a future book or just a part of the characters' personalities and descriptions. There is a mystery, heartbreak, and of course, some happily ever after to make you smile. I can't wait to read more in this series. If you love packs, strong females, wolf shifters with a heart, you will want to read this book. Decide for yourself on this story but I would love to read more by this author.

''Times of change: Book by B l Dawn
"Times of change was an exciting intriguing and thought-provoking experience for me.
B L DAWN is such a creative writer who brings the unique idea of the shifter and The female being an ALPHA was so amazing and extraordinary.
I loved the strong character of Tatum Roloff she was a strong female with a perspective different from others but beautiful, and I appreciated the way she shifted viewpoints as I read each chapter, making this a highly entertaining read. She's a powerful lady who also happens to be a wolf-shifter who defies the male-dominated wolf world. Her life becomes hard and conflicted as she is responsible for her two brothers and great-grandfather after her family is brutally murdered. Her inner wolf desires one thing, and the female within her desires another! They need to find a Pack that can suit her family's demands. Tatum's life has just become more challenging after being accepted into The Green Lagoon Pack.

This book is an outstanding and unusual narrative.
The way she explains everything is beautiful even though she explained the character in minute details which make the story even more presentable.

This book has a gripping pace which made me read it in one go also the curiosity left me wondering what would happen next as I was dragged in. I found myself completely immersed in the story as the author piqued my attention.
The author keeps these captivating character stories moving and extremely emotional by writing at an enjoyable speed. I appreciated how the story managed to stick with me and leave me thinking.

This book is thrilling, adventurous, dramatic, incredibly romantic, mysterious, and captivating.

Overall, I think this is an excellent book that has been well-written.
It comes highly recommended!

Tatum Roloff is not your typical female. She’s a strong woman and she’s also a wolf-shifter that bucks the male-driven wolf world. Responsible for her two brothers and great-grandfather after her family is brutally murdered, her life continues to become complicated and conflicted. The inner wolf wants one thing and the female within her wants something too! They need to find a Pack to meet the needs of her family. Accepted into The Green Lagoon Pack, life for Tatum just got more complicated.

B.L. Dawn, the author, creates a world of male vs female power, love, conflict, and more. Each character was developed, although some additional backstory would be nice to know about certain characters but not required. I did get a little confused with Tatum’s memory issues. Dawn doesn’t take the usual approach of the Packs being independent or with rich resources, rather the opposite which allows Tatum to take on an important role within this male-dominated world.

The two narrators were good, Troy Duran and heather Firth, alternating their narration according to the characters. I’d get used to one and then the other would take over which was a bit of a jolt at first, but I grew accustomed to it. Both narrators were pleasant to hear, and their deliveries were spot on. They spoke clearly and smoothly.

This is a good book! It has everything you could want – wolves, danger, romance, conflict, and more.
There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook, it was clear and well produced.

OMG, I love this book so much!!!!
I'm a big fan of the stories with wolves, let’s add that in this book we have a female protagonist with such a strong personality, smart, bad ass, with alpha vibes. I though THIS IS THE BOOK I NEED RIGHT NOW!

So, I started reading it and couldn't leave it until I finished it. It’s a fast read. B.L Dawn was able to create a world in which I am completely drawn in.

The world building its fantastic, love all the pack dynamic, the family dynamic, all the supporting characters make a solid impact in the story, I feel such a strong connection with them, some of they are lonely, in need of love, looking for their mate.

Let’s talk about our female protagonist, Tatum I love her so much! She’s so freaking fierce! I want her to be my friend. She’s my total female character package. In a place where men are normally the ones in control, she was able to stand out and show that no one will stop her.

The chemistry between some couples is AMAZING!!! I love that!!! Yes, we have love stories here! With a perfect amount of spice! Trust me they were SO well-done.

It was a wonderful start for the series, I wanted to know more about this story, I hope to read the sequel soon !!!!

Highly recommend this book!!

Overall, the story was good and it kept you wanting to see how things unfold. However, it was very difficult to follow at times (tracking whose perspective the story is told from/confusing presentation, or misuse of pronouns), this took away from the overall appeal.

Throughout the book the main character (Tatum) struggles with accepting her position as a dominant member in the pack, helping other packs who are struggling to survive, as well as her search for/acceptance of love. She also knows something is different about her, but her grandfather will not fill her in on the secret yet. This makes you want to read the next book to figure out what it could be. I recommend the book and look forward to how the story unfolds.

This is not your typical shape shifter story. Most are centered around an alpha who is male, dominant and often scary. TIMES OF CHANGE has at it's center a young woman who is caring for her family after they lose the support of their pack. She is the strongest member of her family, so assumes the alpha position but has always known that the family would be better off as part of a pack with a traditional hierarchy in place. When the time comes to find a new pack, she will discover that what was once traditional is no longer. The journey she takes with her family and new pack members was definitely a welcome difference from prior stories. If you find yourself looking for something different but love shapeshifter stories, this one is for you.

Lone wolf no more

Tatum is an orphaned wolf shifter hiding out in the human world - something shifters are forbidden to do. But with her entire pack slaughtered, and sole responsibility for two younger brothers and an elderly great grandfather, she has to feed, house, and care for them. Against all shifter law and custom, she is their de facto alpha, despite being female. It's a heavy burden, and this tale of woe delves deep into her internal conflicts as well as her external challenges. It's an interesting tale, but I had a tough time with the slow pace and the too-frequent repetition. This book badly needed a disciplined editor to bring out all the potential good in the story. Sigh. It's a disappointed 3 star voluntary ARC review here.

Times of Change by B. L. Dawn.
Book 1 of Times Series.
It wasn’t right that Tatum Roloff had two different colored eyes, the strength, and height of a male shifter, the beauty and sensitivity of a female shifter, and the brains and bravery to match any alpha.
Not that any of that mattered because wolf shifter rules had not bound her family for seven years. The Blackwater Pack had been slaughtered, forcing what was left of her family into the human world.
A good read. I did like Tatum. 4*.

Difficult to review - confusing on some parts, but enjoyed it

I really loved parts of it and was very confused on other parts. Intrigued on what her grandfather knows about her.

She is a very interesting mix of dominant and submissive.

The way all of the shifters are portrayed in the world as lost and destitute is very strange.

Interesting story and I want to know what happens next, but very mixed on what the story wants to be

Tatum is a unique shifter. It starts with her appearance, taller and more robust than other females, two different color eyes, and continues to her personality. She is more aggressive and much more confused than other female shifters.

This story is interesting and kept me entertained and is a relatively quick read. It's a nice start to a new series for me and I can't wait to see where the author goes with the story.

Times of Change
Times Series, Book One
by B. L. Dawn

Having picked this story as a break from a really heavy read. A shifter tale with a twist the werewolf shifter packs are starting to die out. Tatum is a female alpha as she is the strongest in her family and has taken the alpha role as she looks to help form a new pack do they can survive . A good read interesting characters the tad slow in part an interesting twist. 3.5/5

Fantastic book. I loved the characters and storyline. But towards the end it wasn’t so great. The last 1/4th of the book was just frustratingly not as good as the rest. The story didn’t answer any of the questions or resolve any of the issues presented herein. (I listened to the audiobook) The narrators were great!

To be perfectly honest, I don't read a lot of fantasies and wasn't sure if this book would be my cup of tea. I am so glad I took the chance on Times of Change. It was well-written and captivating. I read the book in a short amount of time because the storyline kept me hooked. I am looking forward to Book 2 in the series and can't wait to see what happens next with Tatum and the other characters. Great read!

I LOVED this storyline.

In Due Time is a great Sci-Fi that takes us on a ride into the life of shapeshifters. Here we find Tatum a female shifter who has no choice but to go back home. Complications arise when she is thrust into a role she was hoping to avoid.

I really enjoyed reading this book and can't wait for the next installment.

This was a fab fated mate romance with great world building and fascinating characters. Tatum is a unique shifter and this story, told in multiple POVs, was a lot like a saga. So much goes on in here but there aren't any laggy bits and we get other couples stories, too. Expect to experience a wide range of emotions as you follow Tatum along. I can't wait to check out the next book :D
