The Petit Lenormand Oracle: A Comprehensive Manual For the 21st Century Card Reader

Rate this book
Anyone can pick up a deck of Lenormand cards and with a list of card meanings and some basic instruction, can perform rudimentary acts of fortune-telling. If that's what you want, this book can certainly show you how to do that. But, if you're like Lisa Young-Sutton, and want to understand the how's and why's and do more than provide basic cookie-cutter answers to life's important questions, then this book was written for you! Lisa began writing this book as a learner, explaining details and concepts from a beginner's mindset with the hopes that it would be easily understandable by everyone from a complete novice, to professional readers who simply want to view this system from a fresh perspective. In this book, you'll explore everything from getting into the right mindset and finding and protecting your mojo, to the difference between intuitive reading and system reading, to how the meanings of the cards were devised, to the most popular spreads – with an in-depth look at the Grand Tableau. With many guidelines and examples, Lisa will teach you how to recognize the patterns and clues that will turn an ordinary reading into a "wow, how did you see that?" kind of reading! Lisa's motto is, "Don't settle for the ordinary when you can be extraordinary!" Her goal is to inspire readers to think outside of the box and learn to trust their intuitions. Join her on this journey and enjoy the ride.

Wow! What a fun book. It was such a pleasure to read. I couldn't put it down! I've read many Lenormand books, and this was the most enjoyable as well as the deepest. It took me beyond keywords and combination lists into a realm of complete understanding of what the author calls the "primary vibes" of the cards. This is truly the secret to understanding these divination cards!

Lenormand is probably the lesser-known triple of the cartomancy world. Compared to Tarot and Oracle cards there is an infinitely smaller number of resources available for students interested in learning it, and even fewer that are as comprehensive and extensive as this one.

Lisa Young-Sutton is a great teacher who goes over not only the definitions/meanings of all 36 cards but covers topics as important as their directional cues and placement in the grand tableau. She offers learners a deeper insight into the various ways in which Lenormand can be interpreted depending on the question and context of the reading.

For anyone new to Lenormand who wants to build for themselves a really concrete foundation in this system or an intermediate student looking to go beyond basics, I would recommend this book.

"The Petit Lenormand Oracle: A Comprehensive Manual for the 21st Century Card Reader," by Lisa Young-Sutton, has been one of my top 3 favorite Lenormand books for a while now. I even did a video about it on my YouTube Channel.

I love this book so much I did not want to finish reading it. However, once I found out the Ms. Young-Sutton's second book is now available to purchase, I knew that it was time for me to finish this one. Also, yes, my copy of her second book, "The Petit Lenormand Traditional Grand Tableau: A New Look at the Method of Distance," shall be in my possession by no later than next week.

My copy has a grand total of 406 pages, including an end page.

Although the focus is on Lenormand, a card reading system from France, the subtitle does live up to its claim. My specialty is Tarot, although I also offer Readings with Oracle Cards, Runes, Crystals, Palm Readings, as well as Lenormand, and currently learning Kipper Cards as well as how to do Readings with playing cards, too. Personally, I find the "Start Here" chapter well worth the price of the book alone.

There is much that I shall use as I move forward in both my Lenormand studies and my professional Lenormand Readings. This is a book that I look forward to consulting time and again for a long time to come.

To be perfectly blunt, I could go on and on about how amazing this book is, and it would be VERY easy for me to do this.

Nevertheless, if you ever wanted to explore another card reading system, or if you ever wanted to learn skills to take your card reading abilities to the next level, or if you want to learn something that you might have felt you could not learn, this book is a sure-fire option for you to explore and more.

Great book, great reference book to help you understand certain cards, and expand your language/vocabulary for this divination type! I will continue to use it as a reference book but learned a lot of new ideas or thoughts that I would not have done without the knowledge of h to r books.

I've read every Lenormand book available in English, and this is by far, the easiest to understand and put into practice! The other books gave me a lot of information but I was still lost when I laid the cards. I struggled for over a year and now I'm a Lenormand reader! Highly recommend.
