America, 1985. Anton can’t forgive his brother’s stupidity. Furious his elder sibling left on a mission without rescuing their captured family friends, the hot-headed teenager impetuously sets off to run his own dangerous extraction. But his reckless infiltration into the Soviet’s prison camp only results in his own apprehension. Nonna never forgot war’s cold caress. A gritty WWII survivor, she’ll do whatever it takes to prepare the boy in her care from an imminent mutant zombie attack. But when she learns the youngster’s secret, she’s terrified his life is already forfeit. Brutally tortured for the location of their remaining stronghold, Anton can barely hold on one second longer when he’s unexpectedly rescued by a desperate defector. And with the regrets from her past only fueling her protective instincts, Nonna vows to sacrifice everything to shelter her young charge. Can they survive the conflict’s ugly reality and save the lives of those they love? Scattered is the redemptive third tale in the Zommunist Invasion zombie apocalypse series. If you like startling bravery, gruesome battles with the undead, and deeply drawn characters, then you’ll be gripped by Camille Picott’s edge-of-your-seat story.
Scattered follows the stories of more than one character. Scattered opens with Antone and Tate as they are captured by the Russians. Then we get Nonna’s story as she tries to toughen up Stephenson by teaching him to shoot a gun. Then we follow Dal, Lena, and Amanda as they go out on their mission and they run into the Russians.
As Scattered opens, we follow Antone and Tate on their mission to save Mr. and Mrs. Craig, Tate’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. Craig have been taken by the Russians. But things don’t go as plan, Tate and Antone are captured by the Russians as well. With the help of a Russian Dr. Antone makes his escape.
Scattered has plenty of action to keep the pages rolling with all the fighting with the Russians and the zombies. I liked the new twists on the zombies. Scattered has everything I love in a post-apocalypse book it has zombies, fighting, action, suspense, great characters, an amazing storyline, and great world-building. The descriptions are so vivid it is liking reading in 3D if that was possible.
I can never get enough of zombies or post-apocalyptic books. I can’t wait to dive into the next Zommunist Invasion book for more zombie fighting! Once I pick up one of Camille’s books I can’t lay it down until I have read the last page. Once I pick one up I am pulled down into its depths I never see the lay of day again until I have finished.
I highly recommend Scattered to all zombie fans! One-click your copy of Scattered today for another epic zombie story! Oh, and be sure to check out the rest of the series! It is recommended that you start with book one Red Virus and then book two Snipers before reading book three Scattered.
Camille Picott continues her Zommunist Invasion series with the 3rd book in the series and never lets up on the great writing and story line. Picking up where #2 Snipers leave off we follow Anton and Tate on their mission to save Theo's parents by the communists. Things don't go as planned and somethings may be worse than death. While Anton fights to make it out alive Nonna finds herself reliving parts of her pass and dedicating herself to helping Stephenson realize his real potential in more ways than one. We also learn a little bit more about Amanda as she, Lena & Dal run into trouble broadcasting their latest communications. This book has lots of action but also touches on some very sensitive subjects and is really about accepting yourself and being the best you. A great addition to the series and I can't wait to read #4!
Once again Camille Picott has hit a homerun with Scattered. The first two books of this series were set in a liner timeline that followed the events of the Russian invasion and the introduction of the virus. In Scattered she has introduced a parallel track that follows characters who didn’t go on the mission from Book 2. This story focuses on three different groups of characters and their own “missions.” Along with getting a better understanding of who these characters are, they also get a deeper understanding of who they are as individuals and what they are made of as they face numerous trials and challenges that could spell disaster to themselves as well as their overall group of survivors. I received an Advance Reader Copy and chose to provide this review.
This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Revenge and saving others push 2 teens to try to save parents and results in torture and bravery. Also Nonna's past helps her and a lonely boy deal with his truth while building more strength for both. This book focuses on character building and development of relationships of many of the secondary characters so that they are also considered main characters by the end. Lots of action and true character traits come to be seen. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This series has it all! Death, destruction, love and acceptance. Camille Picott has developed wonderful characters that the reader actually cares about and a storyline that keeps the reader hooked from the beginning. I can't wait for more of the series to be released.
This is a lot of action but there's also a lot of self discovery for the kids and that elevated the book for me. I liked learning more about our individual characters.
Scattered is about a communist invasion of USA and at the same time there begins the zombie virus. Well written with good characters. Good solid book. You will enjoy it
An excellent third part to this brilliant zombie story! As always a great read! I do always enjoy this writers work & strongly recommend to all that love this type of adventure!
