This is book 2 in Karen Renee’s Riot MC Biloxi series. There’s an event from Harm’s Way (book 1) that is the impetus for a bulk of the storyline here. While this stands on it’s own in terms of Brute & Kenzie’s relationship, I think it’s best enjoyed having read book 1 first. This review will contain spoilers to that book as well.
Brute & Kenzie meet by chance at a bar after she’s stood up for a date. There’s definitely instant attraction and I enjoyed Brute’s no-nonsense “wooing” of her. I love single parent romance, especially when the love interest falls just as hard for the kid(s) as the parent. Renee delivered on that here and for making Aubrey a consistent part of the story. Kenzie rightfully gets to know Brute better before introducing Aubrey, but it’s adorable when it finally happens. I also love the way the rest of Brute’s family embraces Kenzie & Aubrey.
There’s a little angst from Kenzie’s ex, but the big drama comes from the aftermath of Wreck’s disappearance. Police and Wreck’s family are convinced Riot MC, and specifically Brute, are involved. It creates problems not only for the club, but also for Brute & Kenzie’s burgeoning relationship. I enjoyed the way Renee weaved all these storylines together. It kept the pacing engaging and offered a bit of a romantic suspense element.
The resolution was good, but I could see how it could still be a theme in future books. Mostly I loved Brute, Kenzie, & Aubrey’s HEA. The epilogue was perfect.
Narration:
Paige Reisenfeld and Christian Leatherman were solid again. I like their voices for the all the characters – as well as the emotions and drama. Engaging listen.
While I borrowed a copy of the ebook via KoboPlus, I received an advance copy of the audiobook from Home Cooked Books and am leaving an honest review.

We have to say that Brute and Zee's story ended up being one of my favorite couple in this entire series. We loved this one from cover to cover.
Zee made us fall head over heels in love with her character as she was smart, sassy, funny, outgoing, had a sense of humor, non -judgmental, loving, caring and a woman who was just as beautiful on the inside as she was out.
Brute's character we loved as well, and he surprised me because from previous books he seemed like an a--
But, this time around, he was anything but. We found him to be a bit arrogant and all alpha but, we found that he had a sense of humor, we loved how he treated Zee in the fact he let her handle her differences with ex without going caveman on her. We saw a vulnerable side to Brute which we absolutely loved.
The story as always had many amazing and fun characters, and we absolutely loved Brutes dad, what a treasure that man was. Loved Brute and Zee together they were perfect for one another, I loved how open and honest they were with one another and Brute put a lot of trust in Zee when baring is secrets.
Overall loved the story it made us laugh and smile, and it was a page turner, Zee's daughter Aubrey priceless.
The characters had awesome chemistry, which lead to a lot of hot and sexy scenes. As always, the MC is riddled with drama but, this time it is following in the footsteps of Brute and the man is caught between a rock and a hard place when it comes to Zee's safety will he let her go in order to keep her safe or will he fight for the woman who taught him to love once again?...

What a Man!!
Brute is everything I love about my MC books. He’s a sexy alpha male with a heart of gold for those he loves. Kenzie was also a bright spot because of her devotion not only to Brute but to her daughter as well.
There were a lot of secrets especially on Brute’s part which could send him to prison. So how much did Brute trust this woman? Oh, and Kenzie’s ex was a complete tool.
Both Brute and Kenzie were being stalked and time would tell if Brute would be enough to keep them as well as her daughter safe.
What a great book and series! I can’t wait to see what’s next with Roman’s story.

Kenzie wasted another lunch hour waiting for a man to show up that she met on the Lunch Date App. Another man that was not worth her time, it seemed since stood her up. Now looking around the place she was sitting waiting for someone not to show up. She notices a very sexy man sitting with two other people in one of the booths. He is not her type at all, but she can’t help but watch him because he is so sexy.
Brute is not looking for a relationship. He’s just sitting with his best friend that just got engaged, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t notice the woman at the bar that has been watching him and checking him out. When he gets the chance, he walks right up to her and asks her out. That one decision has his world on end. Not only does he have to worry about the dirty cop that is standing at his bike when leaves the restaurant, he now has to worry about the woman that he just met and starts a relationship with.
Kenzie has no idea what Brute’s life is like in an MC, she’s naïve to the whole world. She works at a bank and has her own life to live. Her main concern has been raising her little girl and keeping her safe and making sure that she gets to spend time with her father. Kenzie and Brute’s lives couldn’t be any more different if they tried. Brute has his construction business and his MC brotherhood, as well as his father in his life, but he had no intentions of bringing a woman into his life, especially one with a daughter. Too bad life has other plans for him. Fate has a way of turning your life upside down when you least expect it. Now Brute not only has to worry about the past coming back to light in his life with the MC, but also the danger that it poses to Kenzie and her little girl. He will make sure that they stay safe no matter what, and if that means that he opens his heart, so be it. I loved this story, and the characters are great! I love the relationship that Brute and his father have as well as the MC. I give this book a 5-star review and look forward to more of the Riot MC, Biloxi character’s stories.

This author’s books has always been a hit or miss for me. But this one was a good one. I loved the suspense of the whole story 😊
Brute was the VP of the Riot MC Biloxi Chapter. He lived for his construction company, his MC and enjoy women’s company. Till the day he had lunch with one of his brothers and meets Kenzie Whitehall. Instantly his attracted to her but she is a single mom and for some reason a man intent on ruining him and his club is out for his blood. So maybe its not a good idea to get involved with a single mother?
Kenzie Whitehall is a single divorced mother and is trying to start her dating life. But every guy she is supposed go on a date with, she gets stood up. Till she meets Sam ‘Brute’ Valliant. Big muscled sexy man comes over to her and tells her if they have chemistry after he kisses her she needs to give him her number,lol… Well lets just say the chemistry was HOT HOT HOT! But its not as easy as boy meets girl. Brute is part of a motorcycle club, he has a detective asking questions about him, he also has a man who is following her and warning her to stay away from him. Not to mention her ex husband threatening to sue for full custody if she doesn’t stop dating him… But how can she let go of him when she finally found the one… 😊

pha male. And like I said I loved the suspense. Kenzie was a sweet and confident and an amazing mother. And Brute sometimes couldn’t make up his mind if he should let her go or if he should just ride out the danger… But all in all a good action filled MC Story. Looking forward to Roman’s story 😊 ♥

While waiting for a no show lunch date, Kenzie spots huge and handsome Brute across the restaurant. She tries to watch him covertly which means its totally obvious. Brute isn't one to let a good thing slip away, so he makes his move on the hottie that has been watching him. A few words are exchanged and numbers shared, and the promise of a date in the future. Now, Kenzie is a divorced mother of one and her ex-husband doesn't make co-parenting easy. This is nothing that Kenzie likes to share until at least the fourth or fifth date, but Brute gets this info before the first date even happens. Brute also has things that he keeps close to his chest, obviously he can't share about the stuff that the MC deals with, or the fact that the cops keep hounding him about all the stuff that happened with Wreck. The two end up hitting it right off the bat, and just click, but the things that are holding Brute back, means that maybe he will have to let Kenzie go, for her own good. Will Kenzie let him?
I really enjoyed this story, Brute and Kenzie were so cute and had chemistry radiating off the kindle. We get really good drama, danger, violence, nicely done hot naughty bits, and a few awww moments. I am excited to see where this series goes, and give this 5 stars.

**Audiobook Review**
I was so excited to start Brute’s book and I could not stop listening once I started. “Brute’s Strength” is a steamy, action packed and sweet MC romance.
After getting stood up for a lunch date, Kenzie is over dating. But a mysterious man who catches her eye and the two have an instant connection. Brute is part of the Riot MC and is not looking for something permanent with a woman but he can’t stay away from Kenzie.
I loved Kenzie and Brute from the beginning and how they first met. Brute is all about the non-commitment of life and going along with whatever comes her way. Kenzie is a single mom who is focused on her daughter, Aubrey. They start out as casual but it’s clear they have chemistry and let things happen as they were meant to be. They didn’t push each other too hard and everything happened at the right pace. Their steamy scenes were delicious. I loved the added suspense of the detective looking into the MC and some things that had happened in the past. The ending was so sweet, romantic and just the perfect way to wrap up their story.
Paige Reisenfeld and Christian Leatherman were so good as Kenzie and Brute. Both brought the humor, suspense and passion to life perfectly. I loved Christian’s gruffy accent for Brute and Paige was wonderful as Paige and her male voice was so good.

This series is addictive! This time, Karen Renee let me get to know Brute. Vice President of the club, he enjoys being single and living his life as he wants. But strange things are happening. A man is warning Kenzie off Brute, filling her head with stories. She is being questioned by a detective and told to stay away from him. What is in Brute's past that is coming out now and will it scare Kenzie? This couple has it all! I love the hesitation by Kenzie as she falls back into love. I love Brute's alpha tendencies and the way he is with Aubrey. I love to hate Kenzie's ex, and love Brute's dad. Renee has packed this book with a fantastic love story and suspense that kept me on edge. It's a fantastic addition to the series and I can't wait to see what she has in store next for us!
Paige Reisenfeld and Christian Leatherman continue their narration of the series and that are the perfect team for these characters. Reisenfeld comes through with a strong woman, filled with love to give and hesitation if she should give it. Leatherman is the convincing, alpha male, super protector and is spot on with every feeling. I enjoyed this listen and would recommend it to anyone who loves a good MC listen!

This second Biloxi Riot MC novel features Brute, VP of the club, general contractor, and stand-up guy and Kenzie, a single mom whose ex-husband can't get over his ego. Kenzie always puts her daughter Aubrey first, but Brute slips between the cracks and quickly making his way into her heart. When Kenzie starts getting harassed by men from Brute's past about dating a criminal and a murderer, Brute has to make a decision whether to let her go or to stay and risk his heart. This story really pulls at the heart-strings. Brute teaches Kenzie how to relax and have fun, showing her that family isn't always blood-related, while Kenzie helps Brute overcome his past and learn to love again.
Karen Renee has such a fun writing style - weaving in music, sarcasm, comedy, drama, characters who are flawed but in a real-life sort of way, tender moments, and life lessons - that make her books such a pleasure to read. Book 2 in the series and it picks up where the previous book left off. There is overlap/continuation of story elements that make more sense if you've read in sequence, but you are provided with anything you need to know so it does stand alone if desired.
Kenzie is a single mom just trying to find a little happy in her life. She meets Brute on a failed dating app lunch date (she was stood up) but it's the best thing that every happened because Brute is right there from the first moment. She has a daughter that she wants to protect, and ex-husband I want to nut punch and a work boss/bestie that just makes me smile. She needs people in her corner that help her fight the fights that need fighting (including against her own inner self) and I love how Brute fits into making her live life a little more every day after meeting him.
Brute is such a noble sweetheart of a guy. Massive in stature, but generous in spirit too. I was sold on him as a hero from the very first phone call. Protective to a fault (he would rather walk away then cause Kenzie any issues with her ex-husband) and when danger comes to Kenzie's life because of him, he'll do whatever it takes to make it right (even if what he thinks is "right" isn't what's actually "best" for everyone involved).
The audiobook is performed by Paige Reisenfeild and Christian Leatherman. They both did a great job with this one. I loved Paige's performances of Kenzie and Brute together. All the sweetest swooniest things Brute did were done in her POV. I am here for it!!! Christian is wonderful as Brute. Because his sections are in 3rd person (vs. Kenzie's 1st) the baseline narration doesn't carry Brute's Mississipi drawl. You can definitely hear a difference between thoughts and dialogue. And you get all of the wonderful tones that Christian can bring.
I requested and was provided with an advanced copy of the audiobook. These are my honest opinions.

Brute is such a noble sweetheart of a guy. Massive in stature, but generous in spirit too. I was sold on him as a hero from the very first phone call. Protective to a fault (he would rather walk away then cause Kenzie any issues with her ex-husband) and when danger comes to Kenzie's life because of him, he'll do whatever it takes to make it right (even if what he thinks is "right" isn't what's actually "best" for everyone involved).
The audiobook is performed by Paige Reisenfeild and Christian Leatherman. They both did a great job with this one. I loved Paige's performances of Kenzie and Brute together. All the sweetest swooniest things Brute did were done in her POV. I am here for it!!! Christian is wonderful as Brute. Because his sections are in 3rd person (vs. Kenzie's 1st) the baseline narration doesn't carry Brute's Mississipi drawl. You can definitely hear a difference between thoughts and dialogue. And you get all of the wonderful tones that Christian can bring.

Brute's Strength is the second installment of Karen Renee's "Riot MC Biloxi" series. While this books can be read as a standalone, I would high recommend going back and reading "Harm's Way" prior to starting this story as a good chunk of the storyline continues the storyline in book 1.
Brute is the VP of Riot MC Biloxi and has been all about his life with his club. But when he meets Mackenzie Whitehall, everything about his carefree lifestyle gets challenged. Despite her looking for commitment in a relationship, everything about this woman appeals to him, even when she"s forced to tell him that she is a single mom. With a homicide detective breathing down his neck, the last thing Brute wants is for her to become involved in his crazy world. This detective, however, believes that Brute has all the answers he needs to solve this case, and he isn't afraid to use Mackenzie to get those answers.
Karen Renee has given her readers and listeners a fantastic romance! It has laughs, moments of frustration, angst, and a bit of mysterious. While Brute's and Mackenzie's part in this series has its resolution and HEA, I can't wait to see where the overall storyline of Renee's series goes from here.

I adored Brute and Kenzie so much that I’m sad their story is done. Brute showed Kenzie how to live without being so worried about everything else, and Kenzie showed Brute how to love without worrying about how it could all go sideways. Sure, they had some messes to sort out along the way in the form of vengeful, shady, obsessed people and an overbearing ex, but they did it together. And that was quite the feat, given one party’s worry that they may hinder the other’s lifestyle and desires.
I’m digging this series so much because every story is original enough to keep me wanting more. We don’t see OTT, senseless drama. We don’t see stupid, weak men or doormat women. Instead, we get strong women and the men who fall for them and vice versa. Yeah, the men can be unreasonable at times, but really, most men can be. So those quirks are far from a turnoff to me. They’re more like sprinkles of reality to keep these men and women from seeming too perfect to possibly exist. And I’ll always keep coming back for more when an author has a talent for making fiction feel like it could so easily be real life.

Kenzie is a divorced woman with a super cute daughter who has no luck with men whatsoever. It's like she's a magnet for being stood up, however, on one of those nights, a man named Brute is at the same place she is, and totally hits on her. We got to meet Brute in Harm's Way, and I have to say that I wasn't a big fan of his at that point, but now?! Oh yeah, I'm all over him for real. They have serious chemistry, and when he's interacting with her daughter, man my heart was filled, but a homicide detective is stalking him, and he starts to wonder if he should even be in their lives because things are getting hotter & hotter for him plus her ex-husband is trying to take her daughter away. I'm telling you that I was on the edge of my seat as soon as that detective made an appearance because that man was bound & determined to put Brute away & h. I'm telling you, this story was an edge of my seat experience with a kicker of entertainment so you don't want to miss out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Poor Kenzie is just trying to make it through life as a divorced, single mom with poor date choices. She has no idea that when her date no show’s that a handsome stranger will steal her breath away and start her boring life on a much more exciting path.
Brute isn’t sure what draws him to Kenzie but he can’t stay away. He knows he should for her and her daughter’s sake. Things are going down that include him that we know from Harlan’s book. (I suggest you read that first)
Kenzie shows how strong she is time and time again and that has Brute unable to leave. When the s*** starts hitting the fan we get to the root of everything that makes Brute who he is. Kenzie is what he needs and he learns the hard way he needs her.
I love this couple together. They balance each other perfectly. Brute’s moment when he meets her daughter was heart warming. I do kind of wish he smashed her ex husband’s face in. Lol I love this series!

Don’t you just love it when an author gives you a well written storyline with a bad to the bone biker who has a vulnerable side that very few people get to see. Then she throws in a single mom with a precocious 6 year old daughter who often steals the show. Well if you do, buckle up because Brute’s Strength is going to take you on one very exciting ride. The synopsis above will give you the gist of the story, so no point in rehashing that. I’ll just say I fell in love with this couple. Different as night and day, lifestyles are nothing alike, yet behind closed doors they stick like glue.
I Highly recommend Brute’s Strength. It’s book 2 in what's shaping up to be a thrilling series. If you haven’t read book 1, Harm’s Way, grab it up too. You won’t regret riding along with the Biloxi chapter of the Riot, MC.

I am in love with Brute a.k.a. Sam, he is truly a man who any woman wants at their side. In this story we have Riot MC trying to put to rest an old issue that someone won't let go. VP Brute is just trying to move on with his life and finds Kenzie and her daughter Aubrey. I loved how Brute's story evolved and how he grew emotionally throughout it all. Kenzie is learning to trust and love again, I love her strength and how she won't back down no matter what. I love all the other Riot family members. I highly recommend any books in this series but especially this one. Karen Renee is one author not to miss.

I continue to enjoy the Riot MC series. The connection between Kenzie and Brute was instant and hot. I loved their beginning, how they worked through things, their honesty (for the most part) between each other, and their love for Aubrey, Kenzie's daughter. Brute was so protective of both from the get go, and Kenzie was so trusting of Brute. I really enjoyed this story and look forward to more.

From the minute Brute and Kenzie met I was drawn into their world and I loved every minute of it. I laughed, I got teary eyed and I fell in love with them. Their story is action packed, and Kenzie surprised me a lot through our this book which makes her a perfect ol lady. Aubs is adorable as we see her grow a bit. I truly loved seeing them come together as a family and can't wait to see more of them in the future.

What a wonderful story! I’m a sucker for a good MC book, and this definitely did not disappoint. The story itself moves rather quickly, yet all of the pertinent details are in it. I love all of the characters. Brute is the type of guy a girl would absolutely adore, and Kenzie is a smart, sassy woman that every girl wants to grow up to be. This story is a delight to read and I will definitely be picking up the rest of the books!

This is the second book in the Riot MC Biloxi Series. Brute and Kenzie's story is entertaining, fast-paced, and passionate., filled with mystery, danger, and twists and turns. Brute, Vice President of the Riot MC Biloxi Chapter, is handsome, powerful, and alpha. Kenzie, a single mom, is beautiful, smart, and independent. Kenzie's daughter Aubrey, is cute! I liked the sweet Epilogue. Paige Reisenfeld and Christian Leatherman did a good job bringing this story to life. #HomeCookedBooks

Brute’s Strength is the second standalone in Karen Renee’s Riot MC Biloxi series. The storyline from book 1, Harm’s Way continues in this book and I highly recommend reading/listening to it prior to this book.
This single mom, motorcycle club,, alpha romance was spicy, hot and suspenseful! I loved every minute of Christian Leatherman and Paige Reisenfeld’s talented narration! These two added so much to an already amazing storyline that featured great characters and I cannot not get enough of this series! I’m looking forward to the rest of the books in this series!

A Sweet Story with Some Rough Edges
I enjoyed this book more than the first one—the plot was more engaging, and I always appreciate the added charm of kids and pets. The romance was sweet, with some touches of humor.
However, I didn’t love some of the internal dialogue, and a few transitions felt choppy. While I liked the secondary characters, I’m unsure if I’ll enjoy the third book. Since I’ve enjoyed the series so far, I’ll give it a try.

OMG this book is exactly what one expects from Karen Renee!! A chance meeting between Kenzie and Brute has sparks sizzling!!! The banter between the two of them is phenomenal and the chemistry is off the charts! Throw in a cold case, a ex husband who will use their child as leverage (low!), and both of them unsure if this will go the distance, and you have a story that you have to read!

I love Kenzie & Brute. Kenzie’s ex husband gives her a hard time over her dating a biker & threatens her with her daughter. Brute has decisions to make, does he stay or break all three all three of their hearts?
This book is a great book. It has plenty of action of all kinds it’s a continuation to the series and I can’t wait to read the next.

I love this series it is a must read! Who would of thought Brute and Kenzie would be such a great match. The chemistry is off the charts. Brute gets past her walls and they endure the harassment from men that are trying to ruin Brute and her PIA of a ex together and that is the best part. Can't wait for the next book

Felt like sitting in the midst of MC as I read the story. Can’t wait for book 3. HEA. No cheating. No cliffhanger. Win, win with this one.

Brute's Strength by Karen Renee is the second book in the Riot MC Biloxi series. Action-packed and sexy, Kenzie and Brute's story had me hooked. I liked the characters and their interactions. Excited to read more in this series.

I love Riot men.
I have love all of the Riot books this far and Brute and Kenzie’s book is no different. I love that they are 1%’ers but such great guys. They love deep and do what’s necessary for family.
