Highlands’ Formidable Warriors

Healing The Broken Highlander

Rate this book
His body needs a healer, his soul needs a lover.Ferra McLeish is the youngest of three sisters and the only one who still resists marriage. She has been learning how to be a healer since she was a young girl, and she wants to dedicate her life to her craft against her family's wishes. Thus, it is no wonder why Ferra feels immense joy when her father tells her that she will be practicing her healing skills. However, she never thought she would be practicing on her... husband! The announcement makes her picture her new betrothed as a very old Laird who needs constant care, and Ferra is preparing herself for a living nightmare. Yet, when she gets to her new home, it appears that her man could not have been further from what she had prepared for. A Highlander in his early thirties with red hair and piercing blue eyes, build like a warrior, lies on a bed…Kaiden McGregor was a fearsome fighter before he was almost killed in a battle, and now his leg is injured to the point he can't get out of bed. The worst part is that Kaiden has been a warrior all his life, and now that he can not even move on his own, he feels as if he has no purpose in life. Ferra can help his body heal but healing his mind is a challenge she has never encountered before.Convincing him to even try to improve his situation requires effort, but the two begin to find common ground. As Kaiden starts feeling better and better, Ferra starts questioning whether recovering fully will be good for him; Her husband is convinced that he must fight again, and Ferra knows that this might mean losing him forever.Healing his body will have no effect if Kaiden keeps being reckless, and if helping him will enable him to risk his life again, Ferra is unsure whether she can be part of it."Healing the Broken Highlander" is a standalone story by best-selling author Ann Marie Scott, packed with passion, romance, and redemption, set on the beautiful backdrop of the Scottish Highlands. This was an ok read. Ferra was young so I guess that's why she thought she should follow Kaiden to battle. Her father in law should have sent someone with her.

It’s hard for me to rate romance novels when I compare them to other genres of books, so I rate them AS romance novels :) This was a nice quick read (It took a little over 2 hours), and that is my only complaint - the length. There was a lot left out… their falling in love felt very sudden and rushed. Does Ann Marie Scott try to write novella style short stories/books for a reason?

Ann Marie Scott has written another wonderful book about the magical Highlands. Healing the Broken Highlander is Gripping and Suspenseful! It weaves a story from beginning to end with threads of intrigue, danger, clan war and falling in love with that someone special. It's a story filled with remarkable emotions, unforgettable characters that are well thought out and each and everyone comes across clearly as their individual personalities become more than just part of the tale, a strong plot brims with tension-building twist, with setting descriptions and action sequences are wonderfully vivid which brings this read together perfectly and will keep you in the edge of your seat from the moment you begin the journey with Ferra and Kaiden until the very end.

Unexpected love

Ferra and Kaiden. Ferra is a healer and the third daughter of a laird. Kaiden is a severely wounded warrior and son of a laird. Their fathers broker a marriage contract between them without their knowledge and Ferra is sent to her new home to meet her husband for the first time. What she finds is a wounded warrior who has given up on life. She uses her healing skills and her strong desire to make the marriage work to get Kaiden out of bed and fighting to live. Their attraction grows in the process. I enjoyed the story. My only complaint is that it got a little mushy toward the end.

Ms. Scott has done it again, she has written a delightful story filled with amazing characters. The story line was fast paced and contained adventure along with some suspense. Ferra was training to be a healer, but her father worried that she wouldn’t ever marry, so he arranged a marriage without her approval. Ferra’s first instinct is to run away, but realizes that wouldn’t solve her problem. What will her new husband be like, will he let her continue with her work of healing?

Great story but

An arranged marriage leads to true love. While I enjoyed this book very much, one part made me rate this book with 4 stars and not 5. A healer trained, Ferra’s first opportunity to heal at her husband’s keep after a skirmish she literally runs away when a young warrior succumbed to his injuries-leaving all the other wounded. This was odd as a serious healer would ensure all injured were looked after

A strong willed lass with a stubborn lad

Kaiden needed Ferra and he didn’t know it. Ferra’s life was incomplete and she didn’t know it. She brought him back to life and he filled hers with love. Their start is a strong battle of wills, but they grow to depend on each other. A nice story that completes the last of the three sisters’ HAE!

Such a lovely love story! Ferra healed and brought back Kaiden to life. He was pretty stubborn but he grew to love her and depend on her strength. Ferra would not give up and loved him in return. I love these kinds of books.

The strong characters in thks story were great. The emotional connection that developed between the main characters made you want to keep reading! Now I'm looking for Eric's story. He was such a supportive man throughout the full story.

Amazing story!

From start to finish I was caught up in this book and could barely put it down. It is hard to find unique stories after having read as many books as I have over the years. But Ann Marie Scott is a gifted storyteller, and I will seek out her books in the future.

Healing The Broken Highlander

Ferra is married by proxy to heal the Lairds son. The son is a warrior and Ferra a healer. Soon author Ann Marie Scott had a way to heal them both. If you like highlanders this book is for you.

Stubborn love

The beginning scene of marriage was a twist I didn't expect. The healer had to be more stubborn than her patient for him to live. So much sacrifice and love.

Really enjoyed reading Ferra and Kaidens story. Some intriguing parts, some tears and like the fact it goes into a new storyline about another character
