Dear Readers,

The love stories in my family have always been fodder for romance novels.

My maternal grandmother and grandfather simultaneously ran a business together and raised four daughters, long before it was an accepted thing to do.  Grandpa O’Dell ran the gas station and the barber shop; Grandma O’Dell managed the grocery and cooked for customers.  They were true partners and madly in love and parted, tragically, way too soon when he succumbed to cancer when he was in his early fifties.  Grandma grieved deeply but eventually picked herself up, started a new career as a cafeteria chef, and eventually found deep romantic love and happiness again, in the form of a second marriage.

3½ ⭐. Another cute read in this great series! I adore this large family (8 siblings) and their Small Town Romances. The background family and friends is a reason to read the series in order, but each book is a 100% stand-alone.

The h has more issues than the H. The story felt real as it's easy to define boundaries in a relationship and can get stuck in it when its clear it needed to grow, shift and evolve. The relationship they have been in 20 years as best friends defined who they were even when they changed it and got married.

The story did drag quite a bit and was a bit predictable and as a reader you could anticipate quite a bit of the plot which is the reason for the lower rating but overall worth reading it perhaps once if you are a fan of best friends to marriages of conveniences, passion and then parenthood and then redefining your relationship to include love.

When having it all isn't what it's cracked up to be. Griff Montgomery is on the fast track to make senior partner at the law firm he works at, but being single is a hindrence to this family focused firm. They get together to celebrate everyone's milestones - new babies, weddings, anniversaries. But his friend Mackenzie Lockhart has a solution - get a quicky marriage, announce it at the firms yearly retreat, and Griff is partner. But things go awry when the head partner of the firm, his wife and Mackenzie's parents spring a real wedding on them. And a real wedding means a real marriage, and along come twins. All the while, fighting their attraction, trying to have it all, and slowly realizing you can't. So what do you give up to get everything?

I enjoyed this romance. I received this for free and I voluntarily chose to review it, and I've given it a 4.5* rating. This is not for the under 18 readers. The hero and the heroine don't let on that they have deeper feelings. Once they were married, even though they showed they cared for each other, they did things that didn't show that they loved each other. So, find out how they conceived twins and how it goes from there.

Best friends to lovers

Cathy Gillen Thacker writes an awesome adoptive family romance series. Griff and MacKenzie were in the same foster care together and remained best friends even after she was adopted and he wasn't. This is a heartfelt story of love and what one will do for the one they love.

Independence is good but love is better

Griff and MacKenzie went from young love to forever love without even realizing it but deep down they were afraid to let go, of being left or hurt. What they had was a love to last and people who wanted to help them get there.
