Before this book, I've read Byrd's "I'm an endangered species," which talks about his point of view of the East Texas Oil boom. Highly recommend if you read this.

"The Last Boom" tells the story of "Dad" Joiner, whose unwavering determination led to one of the greatest oil discoveries in history.
