Sleet #3

Sleet Banshee

Rate this book
Mother-freaking hockey players. My friends found their happily-ever-afters with a couple of sweet, doting, over-the-top, in-love athletes. They got nicknames like Kitten and Sugar. But me? I got stuck with a dickhead who riles me up on purpose and calls me Banshee. Yeah, he might have a voice made explicitly for wet dreams. And he might have a body and face carved by the gods. And he might have a level of Alpha-hole that gets me all hot and bothered...

But when he presses my buttons, he presses ALL of my buttons. And I’m not the type of girl who takes things sitting down. I mean, I only got caught on my knees that one time. In the museum.

But when my decisions get one of my friends hurt… I can’t stop blaming myself. And him.

Except he can’t take a hint. And I can’t keep my panties on.

I had a feeling SLEET BANSHEE would be my favorite of the series, and I was right! This installment followed Meghan, who I had already come to love as a secondary character in the previous two novels. She is fun, feisty, and so many of her one-liners had me laughing out loud! I went into the book loving her, and I fell even more in love with her getting to spend time in her head. Of all the Sleet ladies, her personality was the closest to mine. Apparently, we would also agree on our choice of men, because we both lost all sanity for Sebastian Leblanc, the goalie of the Sleet team! Sebastian is the hot-as-sin, confident, snarky bad boy that I ALWAYS fall for. This type of man is my kryptonite, especially when they start getting all the soft and lovey feelings! The two worked so well together: their interactions were sexy, provocative, but also really funny. I think this is the installment where the heat factor was hottest, both for the sexual tension and for sexy times.

Apart from the romance between Meghan and Sebastian, which completely took over my life, my soul, and my sanity, I also really loved Sebastian’s family! I am a sucker for healthy family dynamics and sibling bonds, so it was such a pleasure to see how tight Sebastian was with his family and his siblings. This also created for some really fun moments with the couple and well…I’m obsessed! I can’t stress this enough.

Now that I’m finished with the books released so far, I have no choice but to start leaving offering to the book gods to have S.J. Tilly release the next Sleet book as quickly as humanly possible. I mean…Steph is still in need of her hockey hunk, right? *wink wink* 105% recommend this series to everyone who loves contemporary romance! I think they’re also a great series to pick up if you are just getting started with this genre or are curious to try it. I promise, you won’t regret it.

Sleet Banshee was such a fun read. I’ve enjoyed SJ Tilly’s ‘Sleet’ series and I was excited to get to Megan and Sebastian’s story. There was a little too much back and forth between them for my liking, but it was good.

Wow, I never thought I would hate any book in this series but boy was I wrong. I dislike Sebastian so much, my feelings towards him were bordering on hate honestly. He was an asshole majority of the book. His hot and cold treatment of Meghan was rage-inducing and I just really want to smack him so hard for being a dumbass idiot.

He was a manwhore and he was so adamant not to have a relationship with Meghan, and that he only wanted her as a fuck buddy. And this setup lasted up to 84% of the book. Like are you fucking kidding me? The contrast between Jackson (book 1) and Zach (book 2) from Sebastian was so laughable. We have two men who are head over heels for their women from the get go and a stupid jackass for book 3.

He was rude and mean to her at the 23% of the book when Meghan tried to console him after their loss. And what the dicktwat did? He told her off and called her puck bunny. Reading the whole scenario was so infuriating and I couldn't get past that scene. Then he had the audacity to force her to forgive him for how he treated her, by kneeling in a grocery store. Telling her he won't get up until she forgives his action. Maybe this is supposed to be sweet or whatever, but him putting her in a spotlight and in an awkward position made this "apology" coercive and manipulative, imo. It soured my mood while reading the rest of the book, and the annoyance never waned.

Then we have Meghan, I had so much hope for her book because I really loved her personality from the book 1 and 2. She was strong, feisty, no nonsense woman, and a loving friend in the previous books. But in her own story she went from a likeable character to a freaking weak, doormat, and lust driven FMC.

I will never understand her for choosing to settle for less and for willingly taking whatever she can have from Sebastian. Meghan was more than happy to be a fuck buddy, cuz she thinks it's the only way she can have him. She wanted a love story and to find a guy that will love her, just like the guys her friends were dating. So why the fuck she agreed to this shitty setup? I don't care if Sebastian was forthcoming that he don't want a relationship, but the fact he's treating her just like all the other women he used to fuck didn't sit well with me. I hated how she caved in and for setting aside what she really wanted. There's nothing more pathetic than a person who has no self-respect, and sadly Meghan has become this person in her own book.

Sebastian took his head out of his ass around 87% of the book. But the last 13% will never be enough for me to rate this higher than 2 stars. In all honesty, I didn't give a crap anymore as to what will happen to the two of them. I'm beyond frustrated with them and they were unlikeable and annoying characters.

Overall, I hated this story but I hope the next book won't be this bad.

Binging is a blessing and also a curse. It gives you so much joy as you're doing it, but it leaves you contemplating the meaning of life once you're done. How do you move on from a series that completely blew your mind? How do you move on from characters you absolutely adored?

Meghan and Sebastian's story was as wonderful as the others. I knew I was going to love this book because Meghan is such an amazing character, and Sebastian is her perfect match. Their circling one another and the back and forth was really fun, but there were also emotional moments where I couldn't help but want to envelop Meghan in a warm hug. I felt the good and the bad. It was intense and beautiful.

This will be a series I will definitely reread in the future and feature a lot on my page. It's such a good romcom series. I binged all three books in a week, and it was one of the most fun reading experiences I've had. Please, add this to your TBR! The Sleet series has banter, fun, SPICE and a whole lot of feelings.

I found a new favorite romance author.

Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy of her books. Opinions are my own.

Now read this series so we can fangirl together!

Sleet Banshee is my favorite out of this series so far. I fell in love with Meghan as a secondary character from the previous two books but I love her even more after reading her story. Sebastian is the goalie and while he has a questionable reputation, he isn't a complete manwhore. He simply isn't into relationships and commitment and is always up front with women from the beginning.

But that all changes when he meets his Banshee. Meghan turns his world upside down and makes him question everything about himself and what he wants out of life. Meghan and Sebastian have their disagreements and their banter is top notch but at the end of the day, Sebastian recognizes that Meghan is so much more than a friends with benefits situation.

"You’re mine, Baby. You got that? Mine. You can run and force me to chase, or you can just let me catch you. Your choice. But I will get you. Because you're my Banshee.”

I loved Meghan....she's funny and witty and has a kind and loving heart. It was mesmerizing to see the woman beneath the jokes...the woman she showed Sebastian. I loved Sebastian even when he was being an idiot. Their chemistry was off the charts hot and I adored that they seemed to be best friends before they were lovers and it made their fall into love meaningful.

“You make me feel like a whole person. Like someone worthy of love. You make me a better man. Like I could take on the world and win.”

Sleet Banshee had a perfect amount of angst and heat and I hope Tilly continues to write in this world.

Again, noting that I finished the series out of spite.

This book is the most poorly organized of the series, in that it jumps back in time from where the second one left off and you have to go through half of what the second one dealt with from different viewpoints. All of which feels like rehashing and not new information. The second book made it clear something was going on so it would have made more sense to combine them in my opinion. Or use it as flashbacks while moving this story forward. In any case it made me feel the whole first portion of the book - a good third of it at least was just telling me rather than showing me because I already knew what was happening.

Chapters get weirder in terms of structure.

For a main character who says she’s a feminist she sure hates other woman - actually all the main lady protagonists use pretty negative terms for women who are not their friends, like can we not. Especially if you are clearly using it in a derogatory judging fashion, since if it’s directed at the protagonists it’s hurtful and terrible and reason to be very upset. The nickname for the lady in this is also pretty much an insult?

I think this was trying to do enemies to lovers but… it read more as two people who really shouldn’t be together because they were toxic and didn’t know how to communicate. Repeat after me: good communication is hot and if you can’t communicate with your partner you shouldn’t be with them. I couldn’t root for them to get together.

One hockey thing I will believe - goalies believe the win or loss is on their shoulders. One thing that makes no fucking sense - professional hockey players getting married in the run up to the Stanley cup playoffs?!?! You’d think they’d be a little busy then.

Positives: the sex scenes were better than in the other two? But I wouldn’t say any of them are particularly panty dropping. This was my least favorite book of the three.

The Sleet Series strikes again with the third installment, Sleet Banshee! Join Meghan on a wild adventure that overlaps with Sleet Sugar, giving us a sneak peek into what was happening in her life, behind the scenes in book 2.

Meghan, the tough-as-nails event planner and BFF everyone would want, finds herself entangled with the devilishly charming hockey player, Sebastian. Sparks fly as they keep bumping into each other, and Sebastian can't resist giving Meghan the nickname "Banshee" due to her red hair and fiery personality!
Will Meghan and Sebastian become enemies, friends with benefits, or something more?

The tension is electrifying!
One of the highlights of this series is the recurring, lovable characters who make appearances throughout. SJ Tilly does a fantastic job of keeping their stories interconnected over this 1-2 year time frame. It's like hanging out with old friends in each book.

Overall, this book serves up a delightful mix of romance, spice, and hockey-themed fun, fitting seamlessly into the captivating series.

Fun little read that is free on kindle. Hockey with a speghetti thrown at the wall approach to tropes. Whichever one sticks you could prolly call this.

I would recommend to those that like hockey romance without the bunnies.

***AUDIOBOOK***

I really loved this one, not sure that I could choose between this book and book 2.

It was fun, steamy, quirky heroines, fun hockey heroes. So why 4 stars?

For all the books, the conflicts are very light and resolved very quickly. I usually like a bit more complex conflicts or a bit more time until it’s resolved. That being said the conflict and resolution match because these are just light, fun reads. This is solely personal preference.

Would I read more from this author? Absolutely!

***I did enjoy these narrators as well. The male narrator of book one is the only one I did love so much, lacked emotion for me.

Okay! This one is My favorite in the series so far! I already loved Meg From the other books, so I am very excited to have an entire book dedicated to her and Sebastian.

Did I love all of the other men in the other two books? Yes I did. Very much so. But Sebastian takes the cake. I love men who are damaged apparently. And I afraid to fall in love, but fall so hard and so fast that it’s almost comical.

Megs and Sebastian relationship was volcanic. And I say that in the best way possible. They were constantly wanting in each other. Bantering back-and-forth and insulting each other. But they always knew when the other needed them. And they have the sweetest most tender moments.

Why am I such a big fan of hockey hold a sudden? Lol. I need more hockey men in my life apparently. I’m also very excited that we are finally getting a Luke book soon.

I love just how different every couple in this series is! The author gives each couple their own unique story and their own unique relationship. While I feel like this type of series could have easily turned in to the same story regurgitated 3 different times, that is absolutely NOT what happens in the Sleet series. And I feel like that speak volumes to the sheer talent this author possesses!

While Meghan couldn’t be any more different than me and Sebastian couldn’t be anymore different than my spouse, I still was absolutely invested in and captivated by their story. It was tumultuous and kept me on the edge of my seat and I truly didn’t know how things would wrap up….unlike in the first two books where you had a pretty good idea.

Dying for book 4!

Thanks to the author for gifting me a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Absolutely obsessed!!! I thought this one would be my favourite and I wasn’t wrong! This had banter, sass, spice 🌶️ and all the feels to make it another great read from the QUEEN SJ Tilly!!
Meghan was already a favourite character from the previous 2 books and Sebastian became my favourite mmc from this series. The banter had me laughing out loud and the spice was top tier. The way their chemistry was on point from page one had me squealing. Sebastian is a confident, talented and funny character that loves meghans sass and no shit attitude!
Together they make the perfect pair!! I always love the found family aspect that Sj writes into her books so beautifully too.
This is another book that will be read over and over again! Absolutely love all of Sj’s books and I will live in her world forever without a single complaint 😍.

best of the lot because it really commits to what it is.
I bet u sebastian is a cancer, thats the only plausible explanation for a man who is so emotionally driven and refuses to acknowledge his feelings.
the characters are extra, the plot is extra, and it makes for an entertaining read.

After reading and loving ‘Sleet kitten’ and ‘Sleet sugar’, the first two books in the ‘Sleet’ series, I was very excited to read ‘Sleet banshee’, the third book in the series. This story is about Meghan, in the two previous stories we got to know Meghan as a fun secondary character, who likes to bake for friends, is a loyal and good friend, but also the loudest and boldest of the girls with a strong character so I was very curious to her romance story. Sebastian is really the perfect guy for her! Sebastian is the goalie and we were introduced to him in ‘Sleet sugar’. Like Meghan, Sebastian is a strong character, he wants Meghan and he goes for it but Meghan doesn’t always make it easy for him but Sebastian isn’t giving up!

I really enjoyed ‘Sleet banshee’, the story was again told in both POV’s and I really enjoyed the banter between Meghan and Sebastian, it was fun and entertaining. The chemistry between them was hot and exciting! Meghan and Sebastian showed in this story also that a visit to the museum can be very excited and adventures. Meghan and Sebastian were a really good couple, I loved that they could be themselves with each other, a bit crazy and a bit loud with a sarcastic comment here and there. Both were stubborn too but in the end they also showed their vulnerable side to each other. There was an epilogue in the story too (I’m a big fan of those).

The secondary characters were great too. It was wonderful to see the couples from the previous books again. And Meghan’s brothers and Sebastian’s siblings brought some fun in the story too.

I have my fingers crossed that the writer will write some more books in this world because I really love this series!

AHHHH and the spice level went up up up and my heart burst with glee :)

Continuing the hockey-players love-saga , I dove happily into book number 3, where we follow the romance between Sebastian, AKA Ash, the goalie for the Sleet team and Meghan. We already knew Meghan well from the first books of the series, since she is one of the girls bestfriends. It is hard to pick a favorite since all books of this series are amazing, but Sleet Banshee has a special spot among the three. It is rare for me to like a sequel more than the first book but its the case with the sleet series!

Throughout the book we can feel that Ash and Meghan love going at it in public spaces, not the full exposed version, but the hidden steam adventurous kind (which had me giggling!). At their first encounter he gives her the nickname; Banshee, because she is crazy and steaming fierce. I love how all the female-leads have cute nicknames throughout the series. The story is told in multiple point-of-views as well as through Meghan’s diary, which is fun, as we can read her thoughts on the first person impression. Meghan wears her heart out on her sleeve so we can see the incoming explosion of feelings.

I recommend this series if you are looking for a smutty rom-com that is at the same time funny and uplifting!

This was okay, but definitely wasn't the best book in the series, which is disappointing because I really like the feistiness of Meghan in previous books. There just wasn't a whole lot of romance in this one and it seemed they were at odds more than I'd have liked.

I wasn't on Team Sebastian in this one. In the end, he won me over, but it took most of the book to accomplish that because he was a douche more often than not and only cared about himself. Meghan became a pushover more than I would have thought given how strong she was in other books. I did like Sebastians siblings and thought they added great secondary characters to help the plot.

That alley scene...🔥

Narrated by @tor_thom & Aubrey Vincent

🏒 Hockey Romance
🏒 Book 3 (interconnected standalone)
🏒 Reformed playboy
🏒 Witty/sassy FMC
🏒 Dear diary ...
🏒 Goalie
🏒 Nickname *Banshee*
🏒 Dual pov
🏒 Dual narration

💛 Meghan & Sebastian 💛

This was such a fun read. Sebastian is a goalie with a questionable reputation, dating and settling down isn't really his thing. But then he meets Banshee. They try a friends with benefits situation and he quickly sees she is worth so much more than that.

Meghan writes quite a lot of entries in her diary and getting to see her pov through that was fun and reminded me so much of gossip girl vibes. She's fun and whitty and running her own party planning business.

The audio was fantastic. Both narrators do an amazing job with all characters and I really enjoyed it.

BEST👏 LINE 👏EVER😂😂😂

Ok, this was the most hysterical of all of the books in this series. Meghan is my Queen and I worship her so much, I want to be her when I grow up😂 She’s the best thing in this book, her diaries and her inner monologues are GOLD. Ash is exasperating, his insistent on being a commitment-phobe is so annoying, like yes, I get it, so let her date other people! But nope, he just goes on all alpha mode, I just mentally check out from him and just enjoy Meghan for the rest of the book.

I love SJ Tilly but I wanted to claw my eyes out with this.

The FMC was so endearing as a side character in the earlier books and I LOVED her. But she was such a pick-me in this and made such bad decisions I wanted to strangle her. The MMC is also as bad, if not worse. Even until 80% of the entire damn book he THOUGHT he wanted a FWB situation and didn’t want anything serious. Heroine wanted the opposite but STILL wanted to be with him, no matter the arrangement. The miscommunication was so prolonged I almost cried.

perfection- oh so good!

Hot AF Alpha tatted hockey goalkeeper - did I mention he is Greek with amazingly soft long locks
Beautifully curvy intelligent and sarcastic FMC, Meghan is such a smart mouth - absolutely want to be her when I grow up.
Epic haunted house scenes - hilarious, steamy and scary all mixed together
This book is Beautifully written with such detail - the coffee shop scene where Meghan is describing the Polar Bear 🐻‍❄️ the mental images that gave me - dangleberries 🥹🤣😂 then the scene grocery shopping and the old lady 🤣😂
Loved the overlapping with Izzy’s book, it gives a much more in-depth view of why/how things happened
Ash aka Sebastian is a intriguing character, loved seeing his insecurities and his inner monologue. Great to see the man’s side of being nervous in a developing relationship
Samual is a riot and the mischief that occurs at the Science Museum had me lol.
Loved the journey this book takes you on, the push / pull and the resistance, absolutely perfect ending.
I need to read Luke’s story - I’m obsessed with this series

My reviews for the first two books was pretty much me just yelling about how good they are, so here are some more coherent thoughts about the three books!

This series… This damn series… Where do I even begin? The past week I’ve spent deep in the world of Minnesota Sleet, falling in love with fierce female friend groups, and unlocking a love for ice hockey players.

Going into this series, I had extremely high expectations. Though I haven’t seen much talk about this series, my friend had raved about it so I knew it HAD to be brilliant. Very early into the first book I was sure this book was going to exceed my expectations!

From the beginning with Sleet Kitten, into Sleet Sugar, and all the way through to Sleet Banshee, this series had my heart. Is it a steamy romcom? YES. The steam was exquisite! But there was so much more to the characters and their stories as well. We got to really know about each of them, as we tackled heavy topics and enjoyed endless amounts of hilarious banter.

This is such a well-rounded series, and I’m so so so excited for book four!

ok ok so I didn't think it was possible to love this series more than I do but BANSHEE was soooo good!
I was so excited when I realized Banshee was about Meg! She's my fav in the series.

Meg is freaking hysterical, her wittiness and scenarios she finds herself in are so funny! I love her character so much, as the MC and as the supporting best friend in the other books in the series. ahhh and Sebastian *swoon* he's so dreamy and just perfect for her. The development of their relationship was so amazing! I loved the banter most of all. it's so funny to see them at their wits with each other but at the same time it was so romantic! I am a sucker for rom-coms what can I say.

I am so happy I dove into this series, it's become one of my favorites. I can't wait to dive into more by SJ Tilly! Many thanks for sending me the series! LOVEEEEEEEEE
