The tensions rise as Micah Regent and his many magnificent mavens of melee and mayhem keep sticking it to the Society of Monks currently in charge of Neo-Hokkaido. Only this time they have an extra addition to the team - the butt-kicking nun from the clandestine Monks of Repose, Liza. Well, and the huge Bobi mechas, can't forget those.
If their last adventure was cranked to eleven, this one hits twelve easy. More guns, more secrets uncovered, more time-traveling ninja girls, more... everything! Rejoin your favorite ninja-loving hero and his foul-mouthed granny as he learns to master his abilities and beat down everyone in his way. With the help of his wives, of course.
Bestselling author Gideon Caldwell returns to Neo-Hokkaido and beyond in this cyberpunk cultivation thrill ride that'll have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
What fun this book is! Just this book? No, the whole series... Easy to read, packed full of adventure and entertainment, you'll be turning pages at a rate of zoooom!
Our hero (a very, very, lucky man, I'm sure you will agree), Micah, his gorgeously sexy, ninja wives, Yuri and Bunni, and his mega-tech-gadget buddy, Choro, are now joined by the Monks of Repose weapon-expert nun, Liza, and the kitsune, Soraya. Don't forget Micah's hilarious (or embarrassing, depending on your point of view), gallas grandmother. I do think of her as being of Scottish origin, I honestly can't help it. There are a host of others here, but can they all trust in each other to help after all that has happened recently?
The action is real and exciting, and you'll feel as though you are actually there, butt-kicking the Society of Monks (boooooo!). There are many secrets to root out (absolutely loved this part!), and twists and turns aplenty. A first-rate story, fabulous writing, excellent fully-fledged characters, and exceptional, visually stunning world building. You know exactly what you are getting with a Gideon Caldwell book - you get all that, and more (usually with schoolgirl uniforms too!). *wink*
I chose an early copy of this, which I then voluntarily read and honestly reviewed. All opinions are my own.
Book three was the most fun so far with this series. Sadly, my theory of the cover art failed me! Yuri (cover 1) wed Micah. Bunni (cover 2) wed Micah. Soraya (cover 3) is warming up to Micah, but alas, there are only two wives to date. IF you read the book and see this - I still think "Bobots" was a missed opportunity.
In this installment the setting expands as the team visit Soraya's country to make a discovery and make a new friend. Bobi continues to lend a hand and Choro, although not much of a fighter, earns his keep. One universal truth in this story: Don't accept alcohol from a stranger. Learn it and live it.
This series has been enjoyable and this book has solidified it as being one of my favorite series. It continues to get better with each new entry. There are some very well written twists, lots of good solid action and moments of much needed levity. I actually laughed out loud at a couple points during the story amd that is rare for me. I am sad to know the next entry is going to be the finale, I would have loved to see more entries but I very much am looking forward to the fourth and final book of Micah's story.
This author is one of those extraordinary individuals who has an acute ability to string word together in a MOST pleasing manner. I have NO doubt that My Ninja Girl will become one of his best. Make no mistake, though - his other works are ground-breaking and memorable in their own right. My Ninja Girl is a bit ‘different’? than his normal writing style, but My Ninja Girl is a testament to this author’s ability to write with a Master’s touch no matter what he does.
I totally enjoyed this book I really like the character progression and the world building. The MC is likeable and the world building is very well done. The MC has a grandmother that is hilarious with the one liners she uses. Overall it was a very good book. I was given a advanced copy of this book for a honest review.
Fantasy Harem In this third book, the team are found by their enemies, and two more Royal Star Ninjas from the past as well. A message from the past also appears that offers a key to saving two of their captured friends. Plenty of action and decisions for Micah and his team of ninja girls. Fun and recommended.
Im really loving how this take on cultivation is going and how the various factions have went. Plenty of hidden secrets from the past and a great tie in to the other lands
This is a cool series. I have loved every minute of it. I mean come on...... bunny girl!?!? Kitsune!?!?! What's not to love. And they're smart and bad***. Can't wait until book number 4!!!!!
Omg, this is so nail-biting that I couldn't put the book down even in below freezing weather! So exciting to see the characters develop and grow!! Plus new friends and enemies!!
More action, more romping fun, more ninjas. Yes and the grandmother is still with them, cantankerous old fart. Looks like I will have to wait for more.
Good characters and good action scenes but the background needs development. You have a 3000 year old society which for unknown reason globally lost its tech. Yet it still has some amazing tech. Too much disconnect.
Another fast moving science fiction fantasy. It is just a fun read written in a fast style . sometimes I just want a book that doesn't need a dictionary.
