I enjoy and admire C.J. Cherryh's work so much that I once owned pretty much all her works (and she's prolific) in hardback as well as the paperbacks. Then I moved to a smaller place near a fine public library, and gave away the ones I don't re-read at least every couple years. That means I'm down to twenty-five or thirty of her books that I keep near at hand.

Anyway, I was glad to read this book about Cherryh and her work, but I was disappointed in it, too. I won't run out and buy it. If you've already read lots of Cherryh's works, you would probably enjoy this. If not, you're better off spending your time reading some of her books. My favorites include:

* Pride of Chanur (and its sequels, especially Legacy of Chanur)
* Paladin
* Finity's End
* Fortress in the Eye of Time (and its sequals, though they're uneven)
* Foreigner (and its sequals, though they're uneven, too)
* Tripoint
* Hellburner
