With more time to roam the infectious menace of the crawlerz continues to spread to every corner of the continent. It won't be long until nowhere is really safe. With their strange powers and superhuman strength growing daily the crawlerz are poised to completely annihilate the human race. If not in this lifetime then certainly in the dwindling of future generations. Huddled in wretched little holes. Terrified to venture out into the world once the sun sets. Picking away at the slowly shrinking mountains of MREs and canned spam humanity will eventually cease to exist.
Unless they stand up now to the tyrannical cowards supposedly charged with protecting the people there may not be a people left for the corrupt politicians to exploit. Drew, Yue and LeBron are confronted with impossible choices in this third release in the crawlerz series. Do they choose the easy path or take the one through the mountain pass where the slightest misstep could leave them buried in an avalanche?
Living in a lighthouse as a child led me early to a love of reading. Despite what you may have been told the life of a lighthouse keeper's son is not all Glamour and Parties. There's a lot of time when there really isn't much to do besides wonder if the fog horn has finally made you deaf or watch your dad pull fishing lures out of different parts of people's bodies. (You'd be amazed!)
Two of my favorite houses growing up!
I read. I read a lot. We had a 'reading caterpillar' around the room at my school where every time you read a book you put your name on your color paper and hung it up. The teacher had to give me two colors because it was looking more like a worm than a caterpillar. I devoured CS Lewis before moving on to Tolkien. Reading has continued to be a big part of my life. I've moved into Alternative Realities by guys like Stirling and my guilty pleasure is Zombie novels. I can't seem to get enough of them!
I like reading about the extremes people will go to to survive. The ones who can rise above the rest and keep their sense of right and wrong. When humanity crumbles around them these flawed heroes stand tall and try to make their way. They go from struggling to pay the phone bill to struggling to keep themselves and others alive. I like to see how this either hardens or breaks them. I think these stories speak at a very primal level. I enjoy the journey greatly as I get to tag along seeing how the survivors manage and how the experience forges them into something more than they were.
I look forward to sharing the journey with you all!
This latest edition of the Crawlerz series is available as an e-book starting Feb 26th. Available to read on KDP as well.
Book 3 continues the trials and tribulations of our three siblings and their companions as they work hard to survive an apocalypse. They're whacked back and forth between rocks and hard places until they can barely see straight. They stand tall and try to do the right thing in the face of a ridiculous amount of adversity. Not the easiest thing to do in a place where following your conscience is a great way to end up dead.
They don't give up on themselves or each other. They just keep going. No matter what demonic infestation or soul wrenching loss rears its ugly head they keep going. That spirit of never giving up combined with their love for one another will hopefully be enough to see them through.
Took me months to finish reading this book, like everyone the pandemic has brought about different habits good and not so good. Now that I've finished reading after many months of stopping, I was able to pick up where I left off with the characters and their relentless efforts to stay alive. In that effort, family is the key to survival. Until the next adventure, stay safe....
I am loving all the drawers books. The characters are like good friends now. I laugh when they are happy or teasing each other and I grieve when a character is lost. Now I have to wait until July to read about Jeff reuniting with the crew and Yue! I am now a great fan of R. S. Merritt
Great book, I have enjoyed the journey, I hope it continues. Unlike many series I can see this one coming to its conclusion. Keep up the good work please
Merritt continues his tale of mutant zombie mayhem as his characters race back and forth across the dangerous landscape in search of someplace safe to hide. Unfortunately for them, pretty much no where is safe. Crawlers and Surgers pursue them at night and lie in wait beneath layers of snow during the day. The thing's brute strength means even sealing up inside a building, tractor trailer or other walled off area doesn't stop the things for long. And now they have developed a hive mind that can sense the living, even when they are hidden so they know where they are. When not fighting the undead beasts they must face off with what's left of the US government, having angered the new President. Due to POTUS mood and loyalty swings they never know if he is going to kill them or give them a medal. Another fun and exciting episode in this series. Elliot Bales does an excellent job with the narration on the Audible version.
I’m really loving all of the new characters — I especially like Harley and even Jeff.
I love how action packed this book was and love the different scenarios the characters were placed in. How eerie it must have been to walk on snow where crawlers could be buried underneath ready to grab you.
I also really enjoyed all the sarcastic banter in this book and the apologies the author used to describe the scenes. I giggled way more during this book than a lot of books I’ve read.
So far it’s been my favorite in the series and I’m excited to read/listen to more.
Another great entry in the crawlerz saga.I love all the characters and following what happens to them. It's much more than a horror yarn.Looking forward to book 4.
These are some really great books. It's exciting following the characters to see how they are going to overcome another obstacle. Look forward to reading more. I highly recommend!!!
I love this series! I’m positive anyone who reads this series will feel the same. Great Characters. Awesome story. A bit of a different spin on zombies which is awesome! Yue, Drew, and LeBron are an awesome brothers and sister trio. I can’t put them down!
I Really enjoy the work of this author. The book comes alive where I read for hours and don't realize the time passing. Haven't watched TV much for wanting to read.
This one was better than the second book. Sadly the next book isn't on audible yet. So I guess I'm going to drop this series for a bit. Fingers crossed the next one gets made into an audio format soon.
No spoilers! A great read. Merritt is getting much better at writing scary narratives! Scared me out of my wits, but I really need to read during the day… anywho! There was a bit of whiplash between a new main character and a sort of sub character, it made the end of the book nice. While a good ending to a book can sometimes be cliché, Merritt pulled it off while also adding a ton of curiosity of wanting more information. It seemed like Merritt debated on ending this book, but left it open ended just incase? I’m not sure, but it was very well executed. There were a few points in the story where I found myself speed reading to get through it simply because I’m not reading for love drama and such, I’m reading for the scare, blood and guts, action packed, fast paced read. Which there definitely was more of that than those few places. I laughed out loud in one moment and had to explain to the husband, but it was nice to have the comedic relief during a fast action packed scenario. I’m coming for ya book 4! Im taking a bit of a pause in this series on a side trip into a new book I recently saw recommended. Can it wait? Yes. Can I? No. Will I most likely end up reading both books at the same time? Most likely. Read this series already!
Yue, Drew and Lebron continue on the journey to survive in a world turned upside down and being chased by humans affected by a virus that has turned them into vicious animals as well as their own military force. What a great ride the author has created to amuse and entertain. Looking forward to the next novel in a well written story.
By book three I expected some progress but there is none. The characters make the same mistakes over and over again, including going back to previously abandoned areas because it’s better than whatever situation they’ve managed to bungle into. There is zero experiential learning, zero ingenuity, and zero PTSD considering the world has gone to hell in a hand-basket.
Character development is limited especially if you’re a service member. They are window dressing to serve as convenient crawler victims.
Finally the series is called “Crawlerz.” I get it. No need to keep pushing the “z” in crawlerz.
One more…..I think it was in book 2…..it’s Jack Nicholson’s character in A Few Good Men. NOT Jack Nicklaus. Come on, that’s just sloppy and poor research.
This is Book three of the Zombie Apocalypse Book Series Crawlerz
Okay this Book was a challenge for me to get through there was way to much death of good supporting characters in this Book for my tastes . These siblings are still fuck ups I get that they are young and are going to do stupid shit . Unfortunately their stupid shit gets good characters killed ALL the damn time . So I see another tragedy coming Harley is gonna kill Jeff just as Jeff and Yu are reunited . Not only will this devastate Yu but the fight against the Zombies that Jeff is heading will take a big hit . I'm not gonna even predict what's going to happen in the next book .
While this is still a really fun and good zombie-esque story I'm starting to notice that I get a little fed up with our mc's, possibly because I binged the first 3 books in a row.
Since I want to know what happens with them but they seem to get on mh nerves at the same time I've decided to put this series on pause for now.
I'll definitely come back to this series but for now I'm gonna read something, perhaps some shambler zombie or a romcom idk.
These guys never caught a break. I found myself agreeing with Lisa that they should find somewhere safe, it was starting to annoy me that the crawlers were everywhere hiding and watching. I like the idea that they could sense if the zombies were in the building. Can't wait for 4. Actually I don't need to, I already have it....... yaassssssss. Go get these books people, they are well written with characters that are relatable.
