Lost and Found Faith is a lovely story of a special family by choice. Ruby Sawyer, strong in her faith and a wise woman, has raised a family of foster children, now adults, three girls and three boys. We meet Maggie Byrne, who loves to shower people with food, especially yummy sweets from the bakery where she works. Neil Hamilton is a history teacher at the Cedar Ridge High School but only half heartedly since he suffered a tragic loss. These two meet when Maggie's two year old foster son left home and stumbled down the trail from home into Neil's yard. This is a story that will pull on the heartstrings as one gets to know these two people with sad pasts, with one who is devoted to her faith and one who has lost his faith. I love the setting in the small North Georgia mountain town where the townspeople are supportive of each other. I was drawn into the characters' lives right away and felt their pains and triumphs. This was my first book by the author but won't be the last. I am looking forward to the next story and am excited that there are five more children. Highly recommended for those who love a romance with faith and healing.
I received a complimentary ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.

I loved the characters that made up this story. The author gave each one a different type of personality and they blended well together to make a beautiful book. The focus was centered on Foster Care and what Foster Children often face just trying to fit in somewhere. Often they come into the Foster care system from situations that causes these children to lose their trust in people. The author also included how grief can change a person and cause them to turn their back on God and their friends. I thought the book was realistic and made me forget it was fiction. It kept my interest from the first page to the last one.
Neil Hamilton is not the person he used to be before his wife and unborn child died in a accident. He is mad at God and himself and is bitter and angry. Neil is a history teacher and before the accident he was very much into his students . He had won several awards for his teaching. He loved his job and his students. After the accident his attitude has changed towards his students. Teaching is just a job now that gets him through each day. His heart is no longer in his job and he's not really interested in his students.
Maggie Byrne is a bubbly and outgoing lady who loves to bake desserts. She is generous with her time and talents and loves to help the community whenever a need arises. She grew up in the Foster Care system and was considered a hard to place child. In spite of that Maggie has a lot of love to give and wants to adopt a three year old boy as a single parent.
Oliver is a troubled three year old who lost his mother to drugs. He doesn't trust Maggie and will not warm up to her . Unfortunately Oliver's time with Maggie is about to run out. His social worker thinks that he would be better placed with a married couple where he can have a father figure in his life.
The three meet up when Oliver wanders off from home and ends up at Neil's cottage. He immediately bonds with Neil and clings to him for comfort. Maggie comes pounding at Neil's door in search of Oliver. Neil thinks she's not a responsibility parent and let's her know it. From this point the story unfolds and will capture your heart.
I recommend this book to readers of contemporary romance and Love Inspired books. It's the first book in a brand new series.
I received a complimentary arc copy from the Author and Publisher. A favorable review was not requested. All opinions shared here in this review are my own.

LOST AND FOUND FAITH by Laurel Blount is not the first book I’ve ever read by Ms. Blount and it certainly won’t be the last! The Two main characters, Neil Hamilton and Maggie Byrne stole my heart and gained my respect. I really enjoyed the authors writing style and her ability to draw me into the story. Most of the chapters ended in a way that peaked my interest and left me eager to start reading the next one. You won’t be sorry you picked up LOST AND FOUND FAITH….your only decision will be which of the author’s other books you want to read next. Adoption stories always weasel a way into my heart and this one was completely tissue worthy!

Tragedy, forgiveness, love, and other spiritual elements are scattered throughout LOST AND FOUND FAITH. Laurel Blount is an amazing writer, conveying every emotion into her characters. Laurel gives her readers a wonderful story of letting go of the past and leaning into the people who are standing by, waiting to help even if when you don’t realize they’ve been there all the time. LOST AND FOUND FAITH is a quick read and unputdownable! There were quite a few times when reading it that I wanted to reach into the pages and hug a few of these people with what they were feeling and what they were going through. I found myself laughing one second and then tearing up the next. If you are looking for a beautiful emotional story to pull you out of your book slump, you can’t go wrong with LOST AND FOUND FAITH. Laurel Blount is now an author I want to read more of. Humanity is alive and well in this wonderful story!

In LOST AND FOUND FAITH I loved Maggie and Neil, the primary characters, but I also fell in love with all of the secondary characters as well. Every one of them has an important part to play in this heart tugging story and even though I wanted to reach in and shake one or two of them every now and then, they all weaseled their way into my heart. My emotions were all over the place and I was even reaching for the tissues quite a few times. Oliver broke my heart more than once. Maggie is trying so hard to bond with him, but he keeps on reaching for Neil instead. LOST AND FOUND FAITH is not like most contemporary stories. It is more like watching the evening news, and then having your heart break for everything this family is going through. I am eager to see what will come next!

Four and a half stars.
A lovely story of four main characters that captured my heart. Maggie, a former foster child has modelled her life on Ruby her foster mother. Then there is Neil , who lost motivation for teaching and almost life itself after the death of his wife and unborn child. Lastly there is three year old Oliver who is just a bundle of cuteness but not without problems. Maggie wants to foster and ultimately adopt Oliver but they are not bonding too well. She needs help.
A charming story written from a Christian world view. I loved it.

"There was a kid in his yard."

Lost and Found Faith is the gentle story of a broken man, an insecure woman and a little foster boy. Neil Hamilton, high school History teacher, wasn't good with little kids. Yet he found a little boy in his yard one morning. Having climbed a wall and fallen, Oliver clung to Neil when Maggie came looking for him.

Maggie Byrne had been in foster homes. She knew the pain and heartache that being abandoned left. She was determined to foster Oliver and eventually adopt him. The trouble was, Oliver couldn't seem to bond with Maggie.

When Neil's wife died, he lost all interest in living. Going day by day, just doing the job. He became known as the "Iceman" at school. When Oliver seemed to connect with Neil, Maggie came up with a plan. She was going to need his help.

Laurel Blount has woven such a beautiful, tender story. Her characters were well developed and engaging. Her word pictures brought each character to life. It was heartwarming watching Neil grow, learning to love God again. And in the process, allowed Maggie and Neil to find love.

This was a wonderful story that I thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend it.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are my honest opinion.

A great story about faith, love, and trust. It deals with issues everyone faces in life, and sometimes we might act like one of the characters in this story. I loved these main characters, Maggie, Oliver, and Neil. I was given a copy of this book but all opinions are my own.

'His pain had settled in to stay, like a long spell of dreary winter weather.'

I discovered Laurel Blount's writing last year and quickly read all the books she had written. I couldn't wait for more to release. One thing I love about a book and for me, the most important part, is when an author is able to pull me in from the very start. Blount does just that. She understand human nature and knows exactly how to craft a character and make me feel like I am there and can see inside their heart. And she has a definite heart for God. It's one thing to read a good book and quite another to have your faith uplifted during the reading. Well done!

My thanks to the publisher and author for a copy of this book. I was not pressured to leave a positive review. The opinion here is entirely my own.

Neil has been having a tough time with things since his wife died in an accident a few years ago. He is always forgetting where he put things or forgetting to bring his wallet with him. He has a little one named Oliver show up at his house and Oliver takes to him better than he is taking to Maggie and Maggie wants to adopt him.

I really enjoyed this book and it was so hard to put down. I think I read it in one day. I think you will enjoy the book as much as I did.

Lost and Found Faith by Laurel Blount is a heartstring puller.

Neil Hamilton is a widowed history teacher at Cedar Ridge High School. Neil lost his 8 month pregnant wife Laura in a car accident because Neil left his wallet at home and asked Laura to bring it to him at the school.

Maggie Byrne meets Neil when Maggie's 2 year old foster son Oliver, left home and stumbled down the trail into Neil's yard. Neil takes care of Oliver when he finds out Oliver fell and scrapped his knee. From that moment Oliver has latched on to Neil and Maggie can't seem to figure out why Oliver won't latch onto her.

Maggie is devoted to her faith, while Neil has lost his own faith.

What a beautiful, heartwarming, hope-infusing charm of a read! I didn't plan on reading Lost and Found Faith in one sitting but I did. I just couldn't bear to be pulled away from these characters and this setting so I had to see my way through to the happily ever after.

I always enjoy a small town romance and Blount has done a great job of building up this Georgian community. There are definitely some secondary characters that I want to see more of and I'll get that opportunity since this is the first in a new series! Woohoo!!!

I'm particularly intrigued with what the future has in store for the town sheriff (he's Maggie's brother) who I think will be the hero in the next book. And I'm anxious to catch up with no-nonsense Grandma Ruby and grumpy ol' Angelo who may be grizzly on the outside but is all squishy teddy bear on the inside. You know a book is a hit when you care as much about the secondary characters as you do the main ones.

Speaking of which, little Oliver is adorable! And Neil's wary first encounter with the little guy is equal parts tender and poignant. So much history there and back stories to uncover. With Maggie as well. Sometimes I got all teary-eyed and at other times I was grinning like a Cheshire Cat. And as far as first kisses go...m-a-g-i-c-a-l. And corkscrew toe-curling besides!

I have no clue when the second book is due to come out but the release date can't come soon enough for me!

In "Lost and Found Faith", Laurel Blount weaves together a wonderful and beautiful story like someone crafting a piece of fine lace. The two main characters are people that you care about and can admire. However, like many of us, they have something in each of their pasts which they must overcome in order to find true happiness together. The plot was great! While some authors seem to put fillers in their stories so they can reach the required amount of words expected by the publisher, don't expect that from Laurel Blount! Every word has a purpose in the story, helping to create a book that you don't want to put down. At the end of the book, you'll feel like celebrating and saying, "Whoa!" (Read the book to find out the sweet reason why I used that particular word!) I read the book on my phone but plan to get a paperback version to treasure always. I've read all of Laurel Blount's Harlequin Love Inspired books and am looking forward to the next one! Happy reading! ♡♡♡

There are great characters and a wonderful plot in this overtly Christian story.

The story has some really sad, heart-rending stories shared between characters, but they are few and don't leave the reader in those darker places.
The romance was realistically slow building.

There was a little preaching at one of the characters, but mostly it was reminding him of what he already knew... that he'd hardened his heart to.

I wholeheartedly recommend this one!

I think there is just something about little children that makes up smile and opens up our hearts. Maybe its their trust, their innocence, their laughter or their amazement about the world in which we live. Such is the case in little Oliver helping Neil Hamilton find life is beautiful and worth living after devastating loss and tragedy.

I enjoyed reading this book of discovering that, although we go through difficult times, the Lord is always there. Sweet little Oliver was in need of someone as much as Maggie and Neil were too. Some tough subjects were brought into the story, but they were used to show that there is healing and second chances if we open up our hearts to the people and opportunities we are given. Maggie and Neil's beautiful love story was uplifting and I would recommend this book of hope.

Thank you to the author and publisher for a copy of the book. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Loved this! The author hit it clean out of the park with this new book that promises to stick with you long after finishing the pages. Main character Maggie Byrnes is an adult who was fostered as a child and now wants to continue her legacy of love. Neil is a burnt-out teacher with his own set of woes. Ruby, her foster mom, and Oliver, the young boy Maggie wants to adopt, round out the cast with occasional peeks at her brother, Sheriff Logan. Add a provoking plot and twists of humor, and the reader has an exciting new recipe for evenings of heartfelt fun. Laurel has a way of capturing the good and the sweet without descending into sappy. If you've not pre-ordered this book, do it right now!

As my husband and I are educators I could completely relate to the main character because teaching is all about loving on kids amidst their circumstances.
This book captured my attention from the first page. I didn’t want to put it down! Laurel Blount does an excellent job of describing the characters in such a way that I could clearly picture them as I read. What an excellent story of grace and selflessness. A must read!

I really enjoyed this sweet story. Maggie and Neil both showed their kind hearts as they worked together to help little Oliver learn to trust. Both Maggie and Neil had some very painful things that had happened to them in their pasts and these events affected them and helped to form them into the people they were when they met. The tragedy that Neil went through was much more recent than Maggie’s hard childhood and he was still reeling from the pain and loss when the story began.

I really enjoyed seeing Maggie and Neil begin to connect to each other as they connected with Oliver. I felt like Neil was coming back to life bit by bit as he interacted with Maggie and served others with her. Neil’s absentmindedness drove me crazy, yet it was clear that under all the pain he was a caring man. And Maggie epitomized love and care in the way she treated everyone.

I enjoyed meeting characters in this new community in Lost and Found Faith. It is the first book in the Cedar Ridge series and I look forward to reading future stories.

Welcome to Cedar Ridge, Georgia! A place where people care about one another and step carefully around each other’s wounded places. A place where kind words and gentle understanding help to relieve emotional and physical suffering. A place to heal, to come back to life, to rediscover what’s important. A place to make amends with God.

I just loved Lost and Found Faith! Touching and original, it was written with great care, by an author who is a master at hugging you, as she escorts you into her warm and cozy world.

We meet Ruby Sawyer, the no-nonsense heart and soul of the HTP (hard-to-place) foster children she has raised, with help from the Lord. The beautiful Maggie Byrne was one such child who now, as an adult, wants to pay the favor forward by fostering and possibly adopting three-year-old Oliver.

Enter high school history teacher, Neil Hamilton, who has suffered loss, and has in turn lost his faith, both in life and in God.

This is such a soothing story, a feel good book that restores the reader’s faith in humanity. There are good people out there. You will find some of them right in Cedar Ridge.

Don’t be surprised, though, if you find yourself hungry while reading this novel! Several times, I felt compelled to head to my kitchen to whip up a batch of peanut butter cookies, and twice I needed to make chicken salad with toasted pecans and grapes!

I received a complimentary copy for review from the author and publisher. My opinions are my own.

Lost and Found Faith is a heartwarming story that will certainly tug at your heartstrings, and author Laurel Blount sprinkles it with family, faith, and romance. Maggie Byrne was once a foster child so she is eager to be a foster mom, and widower Neil Hamilton believes that his chance for a family ended with the death of his wife. It soon becomes apparent that Maggie, Neil, and baby Oliver are destined to be together, but will Neil realize that God is offering him a second chance? Can he learn to trust again?

Maggie and Neil are both great characters, and author Laurel Blount completely captures their insecurities and anxieties, but I must say that Ruby is an absolute joy! When this very special foster mother (and matchmaker) goes to work, how can there not be a happy ending?!?!

I loved everything about this touching story and I recommend it to all who enjoy contemporary Christian romance.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. There was never an obligation to post a favorable review. These are my own thoughts.

This one’s simply a fun escape read, a story that pits a widowed teacher against a love-shy baker who just wants to bond with the little boy she’s trying to adopt. I found it easy to identify with both lead characters and fully enjoyed the story. I’ll be reading more of Blount’s books.

Lost and Found Faith was a heartwarming book about a history professor Neil whose faith is hanging by a thread and after what he went through we can't blame him and the bubbly and maker of yummy treats Maggie and the boy that brought them together in a way. Loved this nook and I refuse to apologize for shedding a tear or two. Oh may, I am still thinking about Maggie's cookies and can you blame me ?

Thank you in advance to the author, Laurel Blount, for providing a complimentary review copy of the book through JustRead Publicity Tours. A positive review was definitely not required or requested in any way; all words are my own.

I have been eagerly awaiting another Laurel Blount book since reading Hometown Hope and A Rancher to Trust. After reading those two books, I did manage to snag copies of A Family for the Farmer and A Baby for the Minister. Both are still on the eternal TBR list.

Lost and Found Faith is the first book in a new series by Blount. And, as such – this really packs quite the emotional punch.

With sensitive topics such as spousal (and child) loss, drug use/addiction, realities of foster kids, as well as a texting while driving fatality.

The cover is actually stunning, inspiring, full of awe and wonder. It reminds me of a scene from Touched by an Angel.

Blount didn’t shy away from anything here. Her realistic and often heart-breaking plot is also sprinkled with hope, honesty, redemption, humor, and sweet moments that uplift the soul.

Neil has been widowed for about three (3) years, and in as much time has become disengaged from his students who’ve nicknamed him Iceman. He is also a bit absentminded, thus the “absent-minded professor” stereotype. But, his lack of engagement has cost him something else – his ability to teach and a few assignments.

Maggie is trying to foster and adopt her friend’s barely 3-year-old son, Oliver. Oliver is barely potty-trained and has a tendency to run off from Maggie who he isn’t attaching to which is problematic in his “placement” as nobody wanted a Pre-K kid who isn’t potty-trained.

Oliver is found by Neil and immediately attaches to hi despite little kids not being his specialty. Neil, not knowing the situation, tells Maggie he is a mandated reporter. He’s required by law to report cases of neglect or abuse to the authorities. Maggie is well aware of it. He knows something is up when Maggie refers to herself as Ruby’s daughter.

Maggie is upset by Oliver’s attachment to Neil, though Ruby – having fostered kids included Maggie that were HTP (hard to place) – says it will take time. Though Maggie doesn’t think it is fair to move forward if Oliver can’t.

The principal at the current school wants the old award-winning, engaging, and extraordinary teacher – but, Neil isn’t him anymore.

Maggie asks Neil to help her with the student lunches. It is during the lunch drive that Neil is told about a former student’s tragedy – one almost exactly like Neil’s. Since Neil wasn’t paying attention, he ended up flunking the kids which cost him a shot at college ball.

Dex definitely has nothing nice to say about Neil. The other students barely engage with him but adore and hug Maggie. Yet Oliver tries to ignore Maggie. It is clear that Neil can’t continue teaching.

After a stressful day, Maggie eventually goes to Neil for help with an inconsolable Oliver. Though his attachment to Neil means that perhaps the social worker was right – Oliver would do better in a 2-parent home rather than the single parent home he is in, similar to the one he was in with his mother. [Honestly this is what came to mind as I read his difficulties].

Maggie had once wanted to attend cooking school, but for her, food is more about feeding people than dressing it up. Food is also a central theme in this story.

Despite Maggie’s good intentions, Oliver might not thrive with her.

The author makes a solid point about moving kids around thus affecting their ability to attach and thrive in a home. And, that is the fear Maggie has – she knows first-hand. This leads to an unlikely “partnership” with Neil to transfer the attachment Oliver has built with him to Maggie. Neil is willing to help despite not knowing where to start or how.

Neil does “melt” a bit and offers Dex a second shot. The teen is wary, but accepts given what is at stake.

The longer Neil is with Maggie, the more he relaxes and begins to melt the icy façade he has built up. It even results in a kiss between the two. However, they differ, severely, on their relationship with God. Neil finally tells Maggie what happened with his wife.

Maggie’s faith is essential to who she is as it salvaged her. Neil can’t budge as he feels betrayed, that is until Ruby confronts him over a class for Oliver. And, it is Oliver’s sweetness that seemingly turns Neil around, slowly though. I loved the “gots God in a box” quote from Oliver.

Blount has a short, but effective scene when it comes to foster kids and food. Maggie gets angry at Neil over taking some cookies from Oliver. She later explains the issue. And, it is definitely heart-breaking, if not at the very least sad. Yet, Neil takes the incident in stride.

Blount’s even pacing, slightly short chapters (less than about 15 pages per chapter), and engaging dialogue kept me reading and turning each page hoping Oliver would turn a page as well. There were some tense moments towards the end that kept me engaged.

This is definitely a day read despite how long it took me to read it (2 days). There were times I needed to walk away because of the “feels”, and other times I just couldn’t put it down. There were times I laughed, such as the period type costumes Neil would wear; along with Maggie and Neil’s experience with a “tent” that is advertised as a 1-person job and ends up needing 3. Who hasn’t had an experience like that? I think we all can relate. And, who hasn’t mentioned leaving a bad review on Amazon or other retail site?

As this is distributed through the Christian/faith-themed Love Inspired line from Harlequin; there will be references to God, bible quotes, as well as Christian/faith themes throughout. These are highly connected to the plot.

Fans of the author or genre are sure to enjoy and treasure this one!

I can’t wait to see what Blount has planned for the next visit to Cedar Ridge.

Laurel Blount never disappoints. Her new book,"Lost and Found Faith," will grab your heart and not let go. I was soon lost in the pages and transported to the small town of Cedar Ridge in north Georgia. Her authentic characters captivated me and I felt as if they were my close friends.
Neil is a serious, absent-minded teacher who has detached himself from interacting with others because he has been plagued with guilt and grief after the death of his wife and unborn child. He doesn't know anything about small children.
This changes when he meets preschooler Oliver and his soon-to-be foster mother, Maggie. She is a lively, cheerful baker who spreads love and baked goods to everyone she thinks needs an uplifting boost. Maggie's had her share of hard times, too.
I rooted for Maggie and Neil to tear down each other's walls and learn to trust and love again, and for little Oliver to connect with Maggie so she can adopt him.
Blount also does a great job with the other characters such as Ruby, Maggie's foster mother who doles out wisdom along with unconditional love. And Maggie's foster brother, Logan who is tough, honest, and a protective older brother.
I truly hated to leave this story and the characters behind, but at least I know I'll probably see them again. I'm excited because this is the first book in a series and the next book with be about Sheriff Logan.

Thoroughly enjoyed Lost and Found Faith by Laurel Blount. It was one of the most realistic and heartwarming love stories I’ve read in a long time. The story takes a broken man (Neil) and a woman who has overcome much (Maggie) and brings them together in a way that feels true to life. Right from the start, I’m cheering for Maggie to win the heart of her foster child, Oliver. I found myself engaged in her internal struggle as she attempted to bond with the wounded child and even recruited Neil in the process. I love that Maggie isn't a perfect cardboard character but one who is easy to relate to in the high and low moments of her life. She has her own past pain, but doesn't let that stop her from becoming a positive influence in the life of others. Best of all, she doesn't back down when expressing her beliefs, regardless of the cost. Neil starts off with a bitter heart and the weight of the world on his shoulders but slowly evolves into the person Oliver sensed he could be from the beginning. This is a feel-good story that leaves you knowing that the ending is how it should be and so much more.

Laurel Blount’s Lost and Found Faith tells the story of heart-wrenched widower Neil Hamilton and tragic-childhood-survivor Maggie Byrne. Both of their past circumstances would make anyone weep, but while Maggie has turned to the Lord, Neil has turned away. He’s a history teacher whose teaching has become even less than lackluster since his wife died. She’s a baker with a sunny smile, facing a myriad of challenges with the sweet toddler she’s trying to foster/adopt.
Grandma Ruby is Maggie’s own foster mom who also happens to be Neil’s landlady. She’s got her heart set on matchmaking, and just knows God is backing her up.
The hope of the Lord quietly shines from Ruby, and joyfully emanates from Maggie. What a perfect pair to reach the hearts of confused orphan Oliver and heartbroken Neil!
