Heather Amery was born and brought up in Bath, Somerset. Heather has written over a hundred books for children, including alphabet books, science and history books, craft books, classical fairy tales, a series for beginner readers called Farmyard Tales, Usborne Bible Tales, and Greek Myths.

My daughter's loved the Farmyard Tales 25 years and now they are also my grandson's favorites. Sometimes he lets me read the whole story; other times just the shortened version designed for new readers, but either way he loves Stephen Cartwright's pictures, as we always have! Charming

One of the few books in the series where the father is a part of the story. It gets a little unpleasant with an unhappy neighbour. Like other books in the series - not very interesting for the adult to read to her toddler - but I think the toddler really digs it.

It was a decent book but you need to get your terminology correct a pony doesn't wear head collar it's called a halter or bridle.
