Corgi Case Files #12

Case of the Shady Shamrock

Rate this book
Readers are loving this cozy mystery series with its two indomitable dog sleuths. Zack, Jillian, and the corgis, Sherlock and Watson, are at it again in this delightful series that pulls you right in.

A mysterious package appears on Zack Anderson’s doorstep. When he opens the crate, there’s an elaborate silver chest, obviously quite old, with Celtic markings and no apparent way to open it. Zack is almost content to accept the artifact as a decorative item … until people start coming after it. The only conclusion is that the box contains something of great value. Zack, Jillian, Sherlock, and Watson are on the case, tracking down the unusual item, learning tidbits about the box’s history, and discovering that it dates back to an unsolved theft in Ireland more than a hundred years ago.

Can Zack, Jillian, and the corgis piece together the clues and find out what’s inside the little chest before it gets snatched from their hands forever?

Sherlock and Watson, the cute, adorable Corgis are on the case again, along with their owner Zac, his fiancee Jillian, and Vance, their friend and local Detective, they're investigating the silver box which was sent to Zac from Wales, UK.

No one knows who the box was sent from, but the fact the box is silver, with symbols from the UK on it, and it's a puzzle box, makes everyone think it contains something valuable. Once they realise they are being bugged, then the box is stolen - several times, it just confirms that fact; they have to get inside the box; find out what it contains and return it to its rightful owner. As usual, there are great one liners, fun and games along the way.

This is a wonderful series, light hearted, each book is a stand alone story but I think they're best read in order, the continuity of the groups friendship continues book to book.

I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series. If you like light hearted, cozy mysteries, then this is the series for you. Highly recommended reading!

Loved this one!! The corgis are at it again, and this time there's a tricky puzzle to solve. When Zack Anderson comes home to find a strange carton on his porch, and that package contains an intricately carved silver box, you just know there's going to be something incredibly special inside. Only problem, the box has no apparent way to open it. Zack, Jillian and the dogs just need to figure out the puzzle and get the box open, before whoever is tracking them down gets to it. A fun, fun mystery!!

Great storyline

I loved this story about Ireland and loved the mystery. I enjoyed that Jillian and Zach worked together. The corgis were once again amazing and the best part of the story.

One of my favorite cozy mystery series!

Poole combines three of my favorite things: books, mysteries and dogs- into a charming cozy series that I am trying to ingest with care.

In this twelfth installment, our protagonist is mysteriously sent a silver chest with a shamrock with a Celtic pattern. But who sent it, and why? And how do you even open the chest?

Zachary’s trusted companions, Sherlock and Watson, are the aptly names Welsh corgis that seemingly effortlessly solve the mystery. But not without a few twists and turns!

A “gem” of a tale, and a delightful read!

All my favorite things in one great story! A great cozy mystery, Ireland, dogs, and Sherlock (who I named my dog after). This is book 12 in this series, and Jeffrey Poole keeps making them better. I have been reading this series from book one and love them all. The audiobook was narrated by Bob Johnson who has narrated this entire series and done a wonderful job. Bob is now the voice of Zack Anderson for me. When I hear Bob's voice I know I am in for a real treat.

How can you NOT like the books in this series?! Especially since they are interpreted by popular voice artist Bob Johnson?
This episode has suspense, car chases, disguises, tracking devices, and the craziest assortment of villains. Oh, yes, and the Crown Jewels of Ireland! Good fun, fine sleuthing, a guaranteed good read!
The stories do NOT have to be read in any kind of order as the author catches you up on the salient points with each book.

I loved this sweet, funny, thoroughly engaging cozy mystery.
Zack receives a mysterious package that somebody else is desperate to recover and, of course, the corgis are on the case, as are the usual assortment of Pomme Valley denizens.
I really enjoyed trying to figure out a whole assortment of mysteries in this one.
A great story all the way around.

This series is so good! The audiobook narration is excellent!
So, a mysterious box appears, and it appears to possibly contain a mystery not solved in the last 100 years! The Irish Crown Jewels! Yes, I did a search, and it's still a mystery. I love a good mystery that has me going to google to see if it's based off a true event... and it is! Super neat! A lot of fun. The characters are always great, and the mystery fun. And as always, Bob Johnson is incredible with his narration!
