This is another great science text where a scientific concept in the natural world is paralleled with a child's activities. In this, a girl builds a mountain out of sand on the beach while a real mountain experiences all the parts of its geologic cycle. Like her text, Water's Way, this is just the right level of information peppered into a relatable narrative for its audience. Nicely done.

This book would be wonderful to read to children for them to gain better knowledge of mountains. It gives the opportunity to children to create their own mountain out of sand. There is a lot of insight that can be learned through this book.

This was a good book. Children can enjoy the picture of the book while learning about mountains.

What does one get if the sun, the wind, and the rain come together? Mountain, ocean, erosion, and earth formations. Readers will meet Elizabeth, who will imitate nature and built mountains with sand at the beach. Great resource for teaching compare and contrast. I found this book to be useful when teaching about erosion.

Perfect story describing how a mountain is made for children as it follows a girl on the beach making her own!! Great for a teacher to read to students when discussing landforms :)

Good correlation of mountains formation and a sand mountain. Does explain mountains in terms of millions of years.
