The second volume and I am hyped to be re-reading this series! Or well partially as I want to keep it for Halloween. So this year three volumes, and then the next next year and so on. In this volume Hazuki gets used to living with Kouhei and his grandpa, we see her do household stuff and work at the antique shop, learns about when to use her evil eyes and that it isn't kind or polite to use them to force people to do that (given her situation especially), we see her act out (at times adorable, at times just too spoiled), Kouhei is researching for Hazuki which I just loved! And oh yes, we meet a new person, a convert, Elfriede. I just love Elfriede. She is a really interesting character and I am curious what is next for her and also for Hazuki.
Great art once again!

the story picks up a bit, but there's one thing i'm curious about, don't vampires not show up in pictures? yes i know, each author puts their own spin on the legend and folklore, but for someone who's following more closely to the lore than most others i have read, why hasn't that issue come up? vampires according to lore are soul-less creatures trying to lure others down the path of distruction. so what does that have to do with pictures? well, the culture that inspired the modern notion of vampire believed that pictures capture a part of your soul. so when a vampire (who is by nature soul-less) is photographed, there is nothing to capture, and therefore no image would appear. with kouhei's profession of being a photographer in place, why hasn't this issue persented itself?

This volume basically revolves around Hazuki's life. Hazuki brought with her Heidi, a cat to live with her, Kouhei, and Ojii-san. But, it's actually not a cat, but rather a shinigami. Also Hazuki uses her jagan on Kouhei's friend Hiromi in an advantage for her to buy her things.

Hazuki shows all kinds of personalities in this volume, and really shows her hatred towards Kouhei. [Poor guy.:]

Anyway another vampire shows up, named Elfriede, trying to get Hazuki to go back to living in the German castle. Her reaction goes a little something like this.

"GET THE HELL OUT!"

I would give this volume 4 stars out of 5. ****

Maybe vol 3 will be better.

Again I forgot that I had already read this volume, although I remembered the story less. Luna and Kouhei both start to develop; we find out why Luna wants to go to Japan and grandfather is introduced. I fully admit to liking Grandfather the most! In this one the story actually really starts.
