The third arc of this series involves a struggling imbalance. Vissel believes that everyone will betray Hadith so he intends to get rid of them first. Georg left orders for his soldiers before he died. Lawrence wants to recapture Jill Saber for the Kratos Kingdom and the Dragon Emperor lacks the support of his people. Meanwhile the Dragon Emperor doesn't want to fight his siblings and wants Jill to prove herself.

Honestly, this series continues to supply more of the same. There are attack chickens, domination through baked goods, and a snarky dragon god. Still, the narrative choices are starting to grate on me. First there is a general lack of progress. The main characters have yet to have their magic restored (yet always have just enough to tackle whatever is thrown at them) and little time has passed. The characters also make a lot of strange choices like separating people that need to develop relationships, calling their savior useless for not knowing how to make embroidery, and repeating habits that annoy the person they allegedly care about. It feels kind of dumb and it is complicated by the thrust of the narrative where each character despite their actions in other timelines are given mostly justifiable reasons and forgiveness. The end result is a lot of characters you can't trust doing actions readers can't predict. Sometimes that chaos is endearing or amusing, other times it is confusing.

Another delightful addition to the series

I find it hard to explain why I like this series so much. I guess the best I can say is it is just silly fun with a sprinkle of warm fuzzies. I'm sure there's going to be fine now serious stuff in the near future but this volume wraps up the final loose ends of Hadis getting good wife finally home and officially installed as his fiance.

She still hasn't told anyone about her time travel stuff and as the knowledge seems to become less and less useful (butterfly effect from her changing things) I find myself wondering why she doesn't tell Rave?

Oh, I had a funny realization during the epilogue that was downright embarrassing to take this long. She's always been meant to be the dragon consort, she was born with people eyes. In this setting the dragon emperor is supposed to have coloring to match the dragon King (Black dragon with gold eyes, his hair is black and eyes gold) and the mate for the dragon is a black dragon with purple eyes. She may not have the dark hair (blond from Kratos bloodline stuff) but she's had the purple eyes as a main feature from the very first encounter. Hadis calls her his amethyst eyed beauty. So I've could wonder if she's the reincarnated DC too?

Still not a favorite, but it may have potential to grow on me. Hadis remains a bit obtuse, though it's oddly part of his charm. Jill may not know as much as she thought she did as well, as it seems there was a lot more going on behind the scenes and perhaps the brothers weren't truly against each other at all. That or they're really good at hiding their priorities and playing Hadis to their own whims, which would be concerning on a different level. Fortunately, Jill at least has enough power back to make her Dragon Consort ring visible again, making it much easier to claim her place with Hadis instead of being locked away and only partially accepted by word only. Seems this may bring several new challenges along with it, only now Jill has a few other girls to get some help from in the form of Hadis' own sisters.

一巻から名前だけ登場していた皇太子「ヴィッセル」初登場。
まぁこういうラノベの王道で、「身分を隠してた皇帝が町の人々に好かれる」「反目してた兄弟たちが文句言いながら仲良くなる」「最後の方で大きいバトルという見せ場」「戦う少女」で、予想通りの結末。
なんかなぁ...どうしてもいまだに「恋愛」シーンが11歳の少女を含むと思うと気持ち悪いんだよなぁ。
でもやはり竜/女神云々が気になるから、次も読み進めるが。
ラノベだからこそ、文章も楽しくないし、キャラ設定もありきたり。
ちょっとしんどくなってきた。

Enjoyable book altogether, the pacing and the plot got moved along nicely. Some open pieces left in the plot line, but I expect most of them to get tied up nicely in the next volume.
