After a contentious divorce from the world’s most narcissistic man (seriously), all Dani Fortune wants to do is live a little.
Or a lot.
She doesn’t expect the apocalypse to come along and screw up all her plans, especially an apocalypse involving eight-legged freaks.
The only good to come from it are the three men vying for her attention. One’s a stranger (which means she could screw him and check off number one on her Fuck It Bucket List) One’s her stepson’s best friend. Okay, weird. And one’s a blast from her past, a guy she never thought she’d see again.
Of course, it IS the apocalypse, so maybe she doesn’t have to choose just one. Maybe she can have them all and become the queen slut of the apocalypse--if her ex doesn't screw it all up.
It’ll either be the greatest ride of her life … or the end of the world. Again.
This thing has spiders. Like, big, mutant spiders.
Sexual situations, though none involving said spiders.
Hello! I'm a writer from Nebraska who enjoys fantasy of all kinds. Stories don't always seem quite as much fun without some element of magic.
I started out writing romances because that's what my best friend and I loved to read. (My other best friend and I wrote about our science teacher being an alien and hard boiled detectives.) I have a varied and exciting inner fantasy life, you might say.
My first full length novel was a fun private detective, contemporary, crazy love story. I'm working on rewrites so that I can get it out into the world. The first book I've published is an urban fantasy about a mother who doesn't know how to be a hero, but luckily she's a quick study.
I studied fiction writing at the University of Nebraska at Omaha but didn't truly appreciate the experience. Now that I've written millions of words, I think it might be fun to go back and take some more classes. (It might be fun...or it might be annoying, who knows?)
I love to read and I adore talking to people about writing and reading. And crochet!
Thank you for dropping by and thank you for reading my book. It honors me that you would spend some time in my imaginary world.
I did not enjoy this book. The FMC was incessantly repetitive in her inner thoughts, and those thoughts were so inane. I also did not like the development of the relationships; they got together pretty much out of nowhere and we saw no relationship development from there. The only thing that got attention in terms of their relationship was sex.
I laughed so hard reading this book. The FMC is kicka&& and wonderful. The guys are unique and varied. I loveve it and I think you will too. However, dang it please get a proofreader!!! The dropped words and other issues took away from the reading pleasure. I would have given the book a solid 4 stars without those pesky issues caused by the lack of proofreading.
So great seeing a reverse harem featuring a fmc in her forties!
Loved the humor in this story, and I loved that the age gap was with a younger man--again, a rarity in romance. The sex scenes were funny with a little heat. More realistic and funny than spicy. Unfortunately, they were sparse. A lot of times the characters would be building up to having sex or there would be a hint that they were going to and then it was like "and then we had sex." Not so much a fade to black as one line telling the reader that sex happened.
In addition to the scant steam, I feel like the book may be too long. I hit the 60%-ish mark and started skimming over a lot. I think it lost my attention because it was more focused on the invasion than the relationships. Yeah, it's an apocalyptic romance so I'm not sure how you can get around that unless you didn't make the fmc and her guys the ones that basically had to save everybody. Then there would be more room for their relationships to grow. Idk.
Funny. Different. A bit of steam. Not quite engaging enough for me, though.
I Shaved My Legs For This? is an ebook I downloaded from Kindle Unlimited. In a word: snarcasim. This story line was completely outrageous, yet the author was having so much fun, she pulled me right into the craziness. The interaction and dialogue between characters make this a gem of a read. I don't remember the story being advertised as reverse harem, but we have ourselves a polycule folks. I had a lot of fun and may have to pick up a few more books by this author.
Definitely not the same old apocalypse here, I love the twist on the "end of the world". And the story manages to keep moving smoothly while the fmc is both funny and tough. Not what I expected when I found this book during a search, but I am so glad I found it.
Laugh out loud, pee your pants funny! I almost stopped reading at around 25% because of the poor editing, but I kept going. And, I don't regret it. It has been awhile since I have read anything this funny.
I appreciate a realistic view on the harem. Everyone awkward, not quite getting it at first. Oldish bodies being sore, etc. I would appreciate another book. This one is fine, but an after the apocalypse book with Dani as president or something 😃
PSA: I recommend not eating or drinking during the reading of this book. You will laugh and some funny situations will happen out of nowhere. Definitely recommend this book if you're looking for humor during an apocalypse.
This was ridiculously entertaining and I laughed so much, not to mention reading sections aloud to my family. This story takes the horror and apocalyptic tropes and twists them into comedic gold.
Omg I dont have words! This was the most wildly entertaining book I've ever read haha it's so freaking great. I laughed so much. I absolutely loved it!
I loved the laughs the banter, the vibrators and the spider apocalypse. Fun read really want more like this. I'll be watching this Ms. Ponce for more hopefully as fun as this. Please write more like this it was so fun, I ended up reading it twice.
