We all have much to be thankful for--including this Little Golden Book with delightful rhyming text and sweet illustrations of diverse children saying why they're thankful!
A Little Golden Book perfect for reading at the Thanksgiving table! When their teacher asks them to share what they're thankful for, each child in this wonderfully-diverse classroom mentions their favorite things in rhyme: I am thankful for my grandma's pies, her cookies, and her sweet-potato fries. I am thankful for my puppy's tricks, my comfy slippers, and kitty-cat's licks. The fun text and illustrations with inspire preschoolers and their families to share what they are most thankful for too!
This book starts off in a classroom of little ones, and the teacher asks what the students are thankful for. Each student tells of the little things in life to be grateful for (like crunching leaves) or the bigger things in life (like hugs from mom) It has no mention of Thanksgiving, however it does have an autumnal theme. It would be great to have in both secular and non-secular schools.
I picked it up for the various color of the children's skin on the cover AND the autumn appearing theme. Yep, Autumn was the theme, and the kids in the book were a wealth of color. I, of course, also enjoyed the rhyming and the images. A fun book on being thankful. What are you thankful for? I'm thankful for diverse books, autumn leaves, and kitty cat purrs. (My rhyming is not so good as the book.)
I loved this book! Adorable and sweet illustrations! It's a cute book for Thanksgiving for being thankful for various things. It doesn't mention the holiday though, just ways and things they're thankful for. It would be hard to hold it (it's a Little Golden Book) to read it out loud to a group of children, but for one-on-one reading is great.
A cute book that shows us the many things to be thankful for. Everyone has their own special people and things that they cherish and enjoy. This just opens the door to so much more we can add to that list.
