This was the last eligible Rose brother finding his true love. Carla & Jacob have been eyeing each other and flirting since book 4…I loved the build up….Carla & Jacob finally find the time to connect and hang out a bit, which leads to the two of them talking, taking a trip together and deciding to date exclusively. In comes the curveball, Lennox Jenkins….Carla’s Ex cheating boyfriend and Mayoral Candidate….Lennox comes in wreaking havoc, which causes a rift between Carla & Jacob….I must say, I didn’t like the way Carla decided to handle Lennox, Nevertheless, Lennox blackmails Carla and it looks like Jacob is finished with her for good until Jacob’s sister Phoebe and Tina (Carla’s best friend) help with damning information about Lennox. Something I didn’t understand is when Carla went to the doctor, why a blood & toxicology test wasn’t ran? Finally, all is resolved with Carla & Jacob and the couple get their HEA…although, there’s another twist with the students…..Of Course Wesleigh & Emmanuel Were Absolutely Amazing with the narration!
As the final book in this series, Yours For The Taking was such a disappointment. The storyline was pretty decent up until the drama with Lennox unfolded then, it just imploded into stupidity and ridiculousness. I like my books with a healthy dose of realism and that whole situation with Carla and Lennox anything but realistic. Carla went from being a confident and sassy woman to a bumbling idiot who lost all of her common sense. She really pissed me off with how she chose to handle that situation with Lennox. Honestly, she got her own self caught up because, she act like she couldn’t say no to him. Lennox was her ex who did her dirty so, I didn’t understand why she just couldn’t give that man her azz to kiss?!!! The only highlight for me was when Jacob beat Lennox down in the back of that limo. He tagged that azz real good. Yours For The Taking definitely did not give what needed to be given. I’m sad this is the ending we get for the Rose family.
I was really rooting for Carla. It was so obvious that Lennox was up to no good and she fell for his mess. That situation dropped the rating for me. Carla definitely could have handled it differently. But other than that the book was great. The 🌶️ was spicing. I love the Valentine family and have enjoyed this series. Jacob was a good guy and loved Carla. Thankfully everything worked out.
I’m in love with both main characters but the FMC grated my nerves towards the end! But their love story was so sweet! I would have loved and epilogue but other than that it was good
I loved this book so much and I was so happy for Karla and Jacob!!!… I love that they were able to work through a situation that could have broken them and was able to have their happily ever after!!!… I love how these brothers hold each other accountable, rather than feeding the wrong doing!!!…
I was hoping this series would end with a bang and BABY, did Mrs. Norris Deliver! That was AMAZING. If I could give more stars for the rating, I most certainly would. And Carla is definitely my favorite. Although Jonas was my favorite male character, Jacob gave me major Jonas vibes in this book.
Jacob was NOT playing about his woman. I figured someone was getting a fierce beat down by the way he was punching that punching bag. Jonas is a true rider and brother; I LOVED it.
Carla is that one silly crazy friend you love, know that's going to bring an extra spark to the room anytime she's there, yet have a heart of pure gold. I loved her witty spirit and caring ways. After knowing how long she liked Jacob, per the other stories, yet hadn't gotten a chance to get to truly explore anything with him, had me thinking she wouldn't get a chance with him; oh, but she put some type of super hold on Jacob and he just couldn't fight it any longer ; I'm so glad he gave their love a chance.
That Lennox was a piece of work and I'm glad Jacob gave him that WORK! Just despicable.
I would Love more on Tina and the other ladies in the band. The conversations between her & Carla had me HOLLERING🤣🤣🤣.
One thing I've truly enjoyed about these stories is how Black Love prevails. No matter the horrible situation, The man always got his heart, his love, his forever. I was not so sure with some of these stories; great writing on the authors part.
Back to this story in particular, I loved the suspense and mystery that was thrown in. The Lennox debacle and the incident at the school threw me for a total loop. Didn't see that coming.
I. NEED. MORE. OF. THE ROSES!!! I don't want it to end. If you want a great series, this is it. As much as I enjoyed the Rose family, and the families the Triplet sisters married into, I still feel like there was something extra special about those Valentine men that can't be matched. Check out 'In The Heart of A Valentine' Series by Stephanie Nicole Norris too. You won't be disappointed.
Ok, now this started out very good and all but the hiccup it experienced shouldn’t have happened like that. Carla, girl, you were the best. Cute, free spirited, strong, independent and entertaining, but what happened there truly so out of character for you and the way you handle it was so not your character. I mean I would have thought that you would have put your big girl panty on and be the strong independent black woman that was read about all over this book, and yet right there you dropped the ball and became a regular female. Now Jacob... you the man and the only thing I would like to say is thus: “Bonita”... you woke up fast! Needless to say , it was very good but this right before the end threw me for a loop and I was so fed up and couldn’t finish fast enough with the story...
I am reasonably sure I've read all twelve books in this series. Each one adds more information and excitement about this very large family. Carla was not who I imagined Jacob would be attracted to, but who am I to second guess. The story was good.
I really enjoyed this series. As a matter of fact STEPHANIE, I would like to let you know that this is one of my first, reviews that I have ever written. I am an avid READER and this series along with the Valentine's Series were just REALLY wonderful books to read... I love romance and a little sex.. so to be 58 yrs old, married 34yrs,4 adult children all out of MY house, grandmother of 2, 20 yrs Navy. Spouse retired, 8different homes, I JUST LOVE A GOOD ROMANCE NOVEL...To disappear INTO...and your books have done that for me, especially during this PANDEMIC... I love the family connection with your books. I, would also like to write a book too. Your family dynamics and their relationships are really good. Its nice to see how you keep the "African American" how can I say this (lol) rituals,?? on going?!?!... Any way, this is why I have never written review before.. this is too much, and I read over 500 pages in a day...but I just had to say something to you about the FANTASTIC WORK YOU ARE DOING...please continue writing so we readers can keep reading...Thank you Stephanie Nicole Norris for your beautiful IDEAS in the Art of Literature... I'm a substitute teacher and I always tell my students that books are there ticket to anywhere they want to go as !omg as they have an imagination.. Reading will take you above and beyond... With that I will end my review... Jackie Thomas Wash. DC\M,Va
Jacob Alexander Rose! Double swoony, super hot!🔥🔥 Ms. Norris writes some of the sexiest, swooniest, most romantic heroes I've ever read! I loved Jacob's honesty and his vulnerability. After that showdown with Carla and her ex, he might as well had ripped my heart out of my chest and taken it with him. He truly thought that he was just unlucky in the love department. And I was super pissed on Carla's behalf. That d**n Lennox, old snake of an ex, I wanted to kick him in his throat. I was a little frustrated with Carla though. She's humorous at times, and she and Jacob did have a lot of chemistry, but I wanted to roll my eyes at her sometimes. Also, I couldn't understand why she even gave that old funky ex of hers the time of day. Lennox just slinked back into her life all of sudden. And he wasn't saying anything worth listening to. But some people are able to, or want to be friends with their exes. I don't see the appeal, but to each it's own. And the way he was able to "manipulate" her had me fuming! Lennox deserved to have his @$$ whooped!👊🏾😒Phoebe was a great sister and friend because she was not about to let her brother, Jacob, or her friend, Carla, go out like that. Whew! I'm glad Jacob got his happily ever after with the woman he loved because seeing him heartbroken really did me in.
I was excited to read the final book of Falling for a Rose series. Carla’s character made appearances in a few of the other books. She was always funny, had no filter and lived life unapologetically. In this book I felt that she continued that path of doing what she wanted but sis was acting dumb with her decisions🤦🏾♀️. Chit chatting with a ex that dogged you is a smooth no no. That’s one. Then I was disappointed in her for not telling Jacob about the situation she was in. Granted, because of his history with women, her situation would have gave him pause. But she didn’t even give him a chance. I was lowkey annoyed with Carla yall lol. And Jacob he was avoiding Carla in the beginning and I wanted sis to just truly date other people and not just him. I would have been ignoring some of his calls and everything. Not making it easy for him. I was giving Jacob the side eye😒😂. Since this was the last book in the Rose series I was hoping for another Rose wedding with all the characters. I was missing Daddy Rose😢. A huge shindig with all the Roses and they wives, add the Valentine family too since this the end. I was sad. Other than that it was a good story. Sad to see them go. *Que End of the Road by Boyz II Men*
I have waited over a year for this book. Anxious and excited on release day! I read the book exhaled and then felt —underwhelmed. I ruined it. I wanted too much. It has taken me a week to write my review because I want to be fair.
Jacob is the only Rose man who did not immediately claim his woman. The story reveals his hesitation and made me go UGH! He allowed his past to manipulate his future, fortunately for him that Carla (accidentally) waited...for him. Carla denies herself nothing and goes after what she wants...her hints to Jacob were not yielding the results she hoped for so she decided to chill...if it’s meant to be, blah blah blah. On New Year’s Eve she gets the call she’s been hoping and praying for and all her dreams and a few fantasies come true until her past rears its ugly head. There is a surprise double plot that keeps the drama going. I do recommend this book it is entertaining with drama, romance, charity, and passion.
If you have not read the Falling For A Rose Series you are missing out!!!!!!

My Opinion:
Carla and Jacob's story really put the icing on the cake when they finally could connect completely, and oh what sweet passion! When these two got together, there was no holding back as they confessed their love to one another. Be ready for a wonderful finale, with this novel being the ending of the Falling For A Rose series. If you haven't read the whole Falling for a Rose Series, then you must do so! It is indeed a beautiful series!
I had so much fun reading this book. Carla is so real and funny throughout the series. I couldn't wait to read about her and find out more on Jacob.
To me is the most patient of the Rose Brothers. He literally took his time with Carla, so much so that she wasn't sure if they would actually be anything more than flirts.
Once Jacob realized that he couldn't shake his feelings, he went full force on making Carla is lifetime partner. Carla was not prepared for how much he would show her but she was game for whatever he presented. For as long as she waited for him, she was already in love with him. Their love making experience was everything and more for both of them.
This novel is so beautiful yet it is so real! Carla is a woman that so many of us , strong , independent yet in need of love and good partner to share her love with. Jacob is that partner that she needs. He puts her first and even though there are some ups and downs for this couple, love prevails.Jacob continuously shows that he would protect Stephanie at all costs. Stephanie continues her excellent standard of writing. Her inclusion of local language and culture as the couple takes a trip to Barbados further enhances the allure of novel. Kudos Stephanie! Thanks for ending the Rose series on such a high note!
The end of the Falling for a Rose series gets a high five rating because it is has five beautiful reasons I've added it to my library. 1) I was looking forward to the debonair Jacob and his story with the courageous Carla Jones 2) Carla is the real deal and a fun friend 3) Jacob has not been lucky in love but has the midas touch as an architect 4) the many twists and surprises I didn't see coming, WOW! 5) an island romance in the West Indies! I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. I look forward to the next sensational story by Stephanie Nicole Norris.
Oh my! Young author, you saved the best for last. The series, "Falling For A Rose" gave me smiles, tears, joy, hope and entertainment! Sad that the series has to end.
This story had it all and I am excited. Lennox is an azz, but truth prevailed. This compelling story told of strong love and speaking what you need into the atmosphere. Never give up on your dreams. Many themes, very well written and discussed.
Keep writing and I will keep reading. (I will continue to write as long as my Lord and Savior allows.) Anticipation for your next books and series.
I have been waiting on this book since Book 4 Fever. I can say I did enjoy this romance. I feel that Carla and Jacob were meant to be! The frustrating part of this book was probably the realest situation. I couldn’t fault Carla for her decisions because she has been through so much since losing her job in Book 4 and rebuilding her life back! I wish Jacob would’ve be more trusting but I see why he wasn’t as well. I loved the way the ending resolved and this read just motivated me to go back and read the other in this series! Honestly I had my favs so that’s why I was waiting on Carla and Jacob’s book! Don’t be like me and go read the full series!
Carla and Jacob conclude The Falling for a Rose series with perfection. Their story has everything love, romance, suspense, drama, and all the hot sex your brain can handle. Carla Jones is probably my favorite leading lady in the series. Readers of the series have watched Carla evolve into a funny, sexy, smart, and compassionate woman. When we arrive at book 12, Carla is more than ready to claim her Rose. Stephanie never disappoints. She sent the Rose family off in style.
Jacob and Carla's story was beautiful. Showing Jacob's vulnerability attached my heart to him. My husband was sure I was his one and made me his wife in 2 weeks. So I have a love for Jacob's ability to recognize his love for Carla. Lennox tsk tsk tsk!!! That's all I'm going to say about him. Carla deserved to be loved and I can't wait to read about her and Jacob in that first book about the Royals. Congratulations Stephanie you're an amazing writer keep fulfilling our fanasty's about black love. The Rose Series was 🔥.
If I could, I would give it more than the five stars allowed...I very much appreciated Stephanie Nicole Norris for making Jacob and Carla's story well worth the wait. The LOL moments, the drama, and the heat between the two of them!? Well done! It actually took away the sting of this being the end of the Falling For A Rose series. BTW, if you haven't already done so, (and although it's not required), I suggest you read the entire series; the anticipation will make you appreciate this book the more so. 💖
Laughter ✔. Love ✔. Anger ✔. Sadness ✔. Fear ✔. Revenge ✔. Renewal ✔. More love ✔. All the emotions necessary for a great book!! I tried not to speed through it but I couldn't help it. And now I am feening for more. And sadly this is the last of the series. Carla is my GIRL! She is my BOOK BFF! What a way to end the series. I loved their story. This book made me trifling as hell and I don't even care. Ah, I need more! Bring on the next series Stephanie Nicole Norris. You book pusher you! 😀
I loved this last book in the Falling For A Rose series Jacob and Carla story was full of surprises and visits of the family. It was fun to see their love unfold since both were dealing with past hurt from previous relationships But love did prevailed even when an ex of Carla tried to destroy their relationship and her life The Rose family always have each other back And this story was full of family and friends that showed loved and loyalty Great ending and going to miss them but looking forward to what new work you are going to bless us with Ms Stephanie
This final installment of the Rose series was simply amazing. Carla knew exactly who and what she wanted and let Jacob know it every chance that she got. When they finally decided to get together, their union was so sizzling hot, their respective dogs had to join in. I haven’t read all of Mrs. Norris’ books, but after reading The Valentines and The Roses, I’m here for everything that she has to offer. Definitely recommend this series who likes to read about sexiness, romance and love!
This book was great. After waiting a while for Jacob and Carla's story...it was well worth it. I loved their chemistry, their honest and their forgiveness. I truly hate what Lennox did to her and wish she would have spoken out (especially given the climate that we are in today and the focus on this type of situation). I think it would have played excellently in the book but I also understand why. I so hate to see the end of this series but hope (hint, hint) we shall see them again. Excellent writing as always Ms. Norris.
WOW this is a enjoyable experience with unforgettable characters. The relationship has a sizzling hot passion that burns up the pages along with their drama that made me have to put on my big girl panties in order to read this very emotional part. But through it all I really enjoyed this thrilling experience. This is the last book in this series and my first time reading this series it makes me excited to read the other eleven books and I know they are wonderful and intriguing as this captivating story is.
This book had me on pins and needles the whole time. I loved Yours for the Taking it had me wondering how this story was going to play out Stephanie never fails at keeping your attention throughout a book. I was mesmerized with Carla the ups and downs she faced and still kept it moving. I loved the whole story line and how things played out. Hands down Stephanie Nicole Norris is the greatest authour in my Kindle and my book collection, can't wait for the next book to drop. :-)
This book right was was awesome. I love the love story. The way the author took her time with the characters was amazing. They had an opportunity to get to know each other and work out their issues together. This whole series was awesome! I’ve read some of the books in a day (ie this one) and some in two days. This was my first time reading Mrs Norris books. I am hooked. She has a forever fan. Can’t wait to read her other books. Trust me; pick up one of her books. You will not be disappointed.
I kind of struggle a little with this book because of the immaturity that Carla showed for a person in her late 30s. Nothing wrong with partying responsibly with her girls, but she was too lose for her age and act like she don’t know what is happening out in the real world. Don’t stay mad but know a snake shed it’s skin is still a snake. Never telling Jacob the truth about her relationship with the ex, so many flags I was like come on why is this character so stupid. I like the Rose men, strong, intelligent, loving, family.
